I downloaded you Ui the other day, and set it up almost identical to the screen shots, I love it. works well, and great colour scheme.

One thing though I'd like to see, and not sure if it has been implemented as of yet, (I couldnt find any reference to it in this forum) is the implied target box. the one that has the targets targets health/power etc. (I hope that is what it is, since I have only used this UI since that was implemented :P)

Trying to get all the new stuff implemented before I start working on the new HO wheel. I scrapped the other one, because I changed the interface... The new one will be similar.

Any Update on Vitality and 2nd Target box?
 
I really am waiting for these two to install this awesome UI on mine and the wife's computer. I think these additions by SOE were great and I don't want to live without them.

Finally updated with all the vitality stuff. I also made some changes to how exp was displayed. I decided to skin the actual exp window and formatted it to fit within the current layout. Along with the vitality stuff you will notice that debt has been added for both health and power along with vitality % for both as well. What I have been waiting for most is of course the % for tradeskill exp. That has been added as well.

Some other additions as well, but enough rambling, feel free to check out the new version in the Complete Sets section as soon as it authorizes my changes.

Skills list and Slayer stats
 
Is it possible to replace the Stats listed at the bottom of the group window with the 4 harvesting skills stats and the slayer stats? (I.E. Fishing, Foresting, Gathering, Trapping, Gnoll Kills, Orc Kills, Fay Kills, Undead Kills, Goblin Kills) I find myself looking for that information much more than the stats that are currently listed. Not to mention that if you are in Thundering Steppes killing undead, North Qeynos is a long way away. It would be nice to be able to carry that around with you.

As far as I know of, it isn't possible to access slayer stats outside of the signpost in Qeynos/Freeport proper. Not sure about harvesting skill levels, but I'm sure someone wiser than myself can field that one.

am i just plain dumb or this UI doesn't shows the spellcasting bar?

i am totally hopeless with XML so i cant figure out a way to make her show...

Spellcasting bar has not changed...it should be the original, but what might have happened to your bar is it might be behind one of the graphics. Move them around then cast a spell, that way you can move it around where you want it.

1) I will see what I can do... :D

2) Something in the code isn't allowing my graphic to show up correctly, the actual graphic is from Red to Green but doesnt show up until 80% or so. I still think it looks good though.

Hello Tyejae :)

I just made a Compass reskin for the interface users working with 1280 * 1024,(added tradeskill exp information and compass) it's not ultimate as the original but fit better than just putting the 1024*768 version on a 1280*1024 desktop

I also added a temporary Implied target while waiting yours that I'ms sure will be better than mine :)

Here are the files and what it looks like (mana has been added to implied target after the scren has been taken)

It looks good, that is exactly how I planned on adding the implied target and that is a good idea to get it to fit the 1280x1024 version window just by adding an extra graphic that fits on the end.

If I can just make a litle comment, I think it would be very helpful for common users if you had modified directly the related files instead of the Mainhud.xml (target, group and player)

I think you will have a lot of question by people trying to use different parts of differents UI with yours.

Ps:In mine I have already put back your great code in the "correct files", I can send them to you if you whish.

Nice work Perdition. I love the way the Compass is added. However, I prefer the way Tyejae has it set up with the experience bars now, toggle between the two. I would love to see someone skin the chat bars and the Quest Helper window in this style. Give my whole UI a steel look. I run a 1280 resolution but I put the Quest helper window in the upper right hand corner to fill it in. Looks nice with no frame and a black background but would look better in steel. If I had any clue how to do UI modding I would give it a shot but it is all greek to me.

Setting the Quest helper intsead of the tradeskill experience was my first wish, Unfortunatly, the graphics I took from Tyejae to make the extension is too small and even when I tried, it was unusable due to too little text in the window.
I tough about maintained buff also but it's too small either..so..I put the tradeskill exp :p

Fine by me...I actually have been contracted, now that is going to take up alot of my time and I don't know how much time I am going to have to update this one now...doh...as soon as I am done with the contract I will pick right back up where I left off though.

perdition: I can't seem to get my active quest journal window to incorporate a background image. All i did was add the background page that is in the other UI elements and directed it to an image I created off of the original steel background. Can you give it a whirl for me?

attached are the image file and the active quest journal I have up to this point. I'm not sure if I saved it correctly - I'm using the plugin for Adobe Photoshop.

Also, I discovered in the group window you broke off from the mainhud, I can't get a context menu up to lock it or change transparencies or whatnot. I have NO idea how to fix that hehe. Hang on I figured it out. you had eq2usescomwndcontrols="v" when it should have been "true"; with the change the context menu was added again. The alignment on the zone name text was also off, and now fixed. Attached this fixed file as well.

Sorry for the Bad Groupmember file, I just bypassed the mousecontrol , I recreate it too fast at work cause I forgot mine at home, and for the Location name, I forget to set it back to normal, in fact in mine I have added a big player Health and mana at the left of the location name (same alignment and size that the target window)


For your active quest helper, I will have a look on it :)

Could someone put together this ui along with the compass changes and implied target changes and mini quest log changes and all those other changes for like large 1280x1024 as a working copy? I cant seem to follow this thread very well and i've read it 10 times now, atleast. Thanks.

Is there a complete zip file to download? I downloaded the one from 2/5/2005 and then Perditions and Aalwen's additions and now i get a white box that doesnt have a title or anything.

The white box is my active quest journal and it's broken atm. I only posted it so Perdition could take a look at it. Delete it from your TaeJae directory and you should be good to go.

As for a complete zip file, I would feel bad to usurp TaeJae's zip file with all of the addtions Perdition and I have made. If you just right-click on the xml files we've posted (be sure to skip my active quest journal as it doesnt work yet) and save as, you will have the xml files to copy over to your TaeJae directory.

Ok I saved these files to my Desktop and then converted them to a Zip file. Do I extract them to my Custom UI Folder or to tha actual EQ2 UI Folder?

dont convert them. just download the xml files from our posts and copy them to your custom ui folder. or just download them straight into the custom folder if you wish.




Perdition: how can I make it so the "L:" only shows when I have a mob targeted in your implied target window? At its default setup now the background and the L: always show, and the health and hp bars dissappear when you esc out.

i tried adding the datafilter=0000 etc. but it didnt work. does it not work in a <text> tag?

this is the way i did it for my implied target window you would have to put it in a page that has the dynamic data of the implied targets level and then set the dynamic data filter to hide it when it doesnt have a level, which should be 0001 as i recall.

I first off want to say that I love this UI, and I really like the modifications put on it. I am getting a bit impatient trying to wait for the implied target window so I decided to download the one posted earlier, as well as the other modifications to this UI.

However, the implied target window does not show when I download the proper file and put it in the custom ui folder. I downloaded the eq2ui_mainhud_impliedtarget.xml posted by perditon as well as the compass modification and tried em out. The compass modification works perfectly, but the implied target never appears.

I know nothing of xml, but I basically thought that well, perhaps another file was needed to make the game realize the new window was there. So I figured that the eq2ui_mainhud.xml as well as the groupbar *the fixed version* and the mainhud_player as well. As it turns out, now I get the implied window in the proper texture, but now my player window and my target window are both back to default! I've reinstalled the UI from it's original state and added only the compass add on since it seemed to work, but I was wondering what I'm doing wrong here with these. I really would like to have that implied window, it really helps a lot when I play. :D

delete eq2ui_gamedata.xml from your custom folder, it shouldnt be in there, once you delete it it will work.
