There is NOTHING to edit!

dackralter 12-18-2005 03:09 PM

Bah. Updated the framework, applied the proper fix, and now when I try to open the program I get "EQ2MAP_Updater.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." Great job explaining the error Windows. Anyone have any ideas?

Usildor 02-27-2006 09:20 PM

I followed the steps and now get the same error... "EQ2MAP_Updater.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close."

Can someone please help? I've posted in different places and cannot get any kind of help.

Usildor 02-27-2006 09:41 PM

Nevermind. Solution found. Uninstall EQ2Map. Uninstall All versions of .net framework. Restarted. Redownloaded framework 1.1 reinstalled EQ2Map. Fixed. I dont even knw what net framework 2.0 was for but screw it.

Common Problems (and solutions)

Ivse 06-14-2006 07:18 PM

I did uninstall the .net beta version and installed the new .net
It did not help, and tried the alternative suggestions, did not help either.

I uninstalled ep2map updater, and installed it in an new directory, and voila it worked :)

I'm running it on x64

Hi, i have the same problem. It was working fine then messed up. When you click on cancel to debug it, it says it cant do it. I tried reloading and no help. Now, Im a novice, so I need someone to tell me in laymans step by step how to fix it. I read the post and tried some of those but to no avail. What made this happen? Need some real help here, I can take email if that is easier, actually would be easier for me to print the steps and follow them, [email protected]. Thanks

Since the massive update on 8/14 - getting error msg

Hi,

I am able to run EQ2 Map in game, but when I try to run the updater before starting the game up, I am now getting this exception msg. It states the errors is located here:

Process ID = 0x628 (1576) Thread ID= 0xf28 (3880)

I am no computer jock, so I need some assistance correcting this.

I've been using the Map Updater for a long time. It's great .. I'd had to miss future POI updates on it!

Thanks for your help.

Sorry, but I highly doubt anyone here can read minds (especially over the web). So without a little more than just 'still broken for me' (especially on a thread that has been dead for a couple months), such as specific error messages if you are getting any or what is happening in general, odds are you won't get any help any time soon.

Jozef0426 10-23-2007 10:54 AM

'This thread is specifically for this exact type of error: do NOT post here in this thread for other types of errors, thanks'

that is the error I have which is why I posted here why else would I post here

That made me smile if you consider that probably 95% of this thread is off topic. :D

peedeecee 11-09-2007 01:27 PM

I've been struggling with this for weeks and weeks, tried all the fixes posted here had all the errors, nothing would work.

Just stumbled upon the simplest solution....

I deleted the eq2map_config.cfg file that the installer places in the default EQ2map directory, and it worked :nana:

Hope it's that simple for everyone else.

I'm only using .net 1.1, had all the others but uninstalled them all earlier, but even with the fix .cfg file in the directory it works fine.

I don't know the first error.
But the second one is fixed in later versions of the updater.
