No I missed that somehow...I will get it fixed soon. I am working on making it more dynamic at the moment, so I don't really want to release it mid stream. Should be sometime next week or the one after.

Just tried a small experiment on my second system, which had also been unable to summon the bottom bar config window. Instead of entirely re-installing Profit, I deleted 3 files: _ProfitUI_BottomBar.xml, _ProfitUI_BottomBar_Settings.xml and _ProfitUI_ControlCenter.xml. I ran the updater to replace those. When I logged in, bottom bar config worked fine.
Just for fun, I compared the files that worked with the files that didn't. Looks like my broken setup still had the old version of _ProfitUI_BottomBar.xml. Could that explain the config failure? The other two files were identical across versions. Still had no boxes pre-checked in the config window. I'll do some more poking around to see if I can get a handle on this. -= Therendil =- |
I'll be honest. At the moment I don't remember what was where before I started coding to make it more dynamic (sortorder, itemorder) and easier to add items to. But those three files, along with the _profitui_custom file are what controls the bottom bar and its config options.
When you opeen the config window are any of the boxes checked or are they all unchecked? Silat |
So far, when I open the config window, nothing is checked. This is persistent. I have tested the case of logging in, setting items to display, reloading the UI to get the new bottom bar, and then opening config again. No boxes are ever checked.
As to the original problem, I'm wondering if it came about because the old _ProfitUI_BottomBar.xml did not get replaced with the new one until I deleted the old one before running the updater. -= Therendil =- |
1. The dividers in my resolution (1280x1024) are sitting a little too high. They do not touch the bottom frame and the hang from the top of the top frame.

Thanks |
I have fixed it but not pushed it. That item, adding concentration slots to the bar, adding more dividers, and sorting are going to go out once I have the sorting complete.

I did an update and now my bottom bar disappeared. Anyone know how I can get it back?
|
I just sent an update to the updater. Once it is available it adds the concentration stat, 2 more dividers, and fixes the divider alignment issue.
I have given up on the fully customizable bar idea for the moment(display order of items). It is just not possible for me to code it and it to be very functional. Silat |
The dividers are even worse, they're shorter now, so now they only go about halfway down the bar instead of 3/4. I like the additional ones though!
|
I'm not seeing that issue at all. Take a screenshot for me and post it here.

Just for reference, I use a 1920x1200 resolution.

Which skin are you using?
Silat |
Classic Black.
What's weird is it seems to look fine on my Mystic and Troubadour (well, maybe needs to be nudged down a pixel or two) but my Brigand has the little half dividers I posted earlier. My Illusionist and Necromancer look like it did before this change (more like 3/4 than half). |
I can't figure out what's going on. The files for that skin that pertain to that image are fine. Try deleting _profitui_styles.xml, _Profitui_custom.xml, and _Profitui_bottombar.xml and repatching. Make sure that you don't have those files on ignore in the updater.

I figured it out! The dividers slide up on the bar depending on the spacing you select. My brigand has a higher number than my other chars. At 3, its almost perfectly aligned. At 5 its the 3/4, and at 7, its half.
|
I'll have to look at that. Thanks for letting me know. Item Spacing is not supposed to affect vertical spacing at all so that's a bug.

Also, a general question, when I make a change to UI files, do I need to camp to desktop to activate them, or can I just camp to myself? |
You need to go into the Updater and reset all settings to default. I'm not sure what went wrong, but this was the only way I could clear it up. Cleared up a couple of other issues at the same time.
-= Therendil =- |
Rather than camp out to bring up new settings, I load the default UI, then re-load Profit. Otherwise, I think you have to camp to desktop to force an update because the UI settings are read only when the client starts up.

It doesn't seem to have anything to do with ignored files. I had an issue with bad formatting of the bottom bar, and the problem with the config window. Nothing I did with any file had any effect. Resetting Profit to defaults fixed both issues. I still don't know what had gone wrong.

If you're not talking about ignored files, then I don't understand. How do you reset profit back to default settings?
|
From the Updater main window, choose Settings -> Updater -> Reset all Settings. You'll get a confirmation dialog. Once you confirm your choice, everything will be reset and you'll be prompted to restart the Updater.
You will need to re-select any file variants since they will all be at default after the reset. Strictly speaking, this resets the Updater rather than the UI itself. However this is what I did to banish the ghosts and it worked. -= Therendil =- |
