javaw.exe is just the normal java webstart application.
If the updater crashes - e.g. because of a missing network connection or something - it may happen that there is no application window anymore but the updater keeps running in the background. The basic concept I understand. Program connects to the database. Program crashes. Connection persists preventing restarted program to connect.

Any more ideas? I tried deleting Profit updater but it fails uninstall, I tried deleteing javaw rebooting but get the same error, i tried updating java and rebooting and still no go. her eis what I get

Maybe second time is the charm. I still can't get the updater to connect, can not even access the web site
