hiya zonx,

not sure if you have noticed this but after this mornings update the qst window not the journal but the window that is typically in the top right of screen is doin some wierd stuff, every time you zone it pops up a different qst. for instance i been workin on my tower of the drafling access qst and every time i zone it changes to slay fermented elixers...and just a min ago i was killin a badger in EL while the elixer qst was still showin, then it just changed to yet a different qst...

sumtin goin on there lol

New to EQ and just installed this package. I really love it, thanks for making it available to us.

I've done a little searching and I've read the Read Me files included with the download, but I can't seem to find info on two things:

1. The area where I chat hovers over existing chat. How do I fix this?
2. I can't seem to find the Maintained Effects bar...where can I bring it back up?

I apologize for these elementary questions as I'm not very computer literate lol.

Hey! Well I've been using Fetish Nightfall for awhile now and love it! Today when I logged into the game, I noticed that none of the UI loaded. Everything was set to the normal EQ2 interface. I logged out and back in and noticed even the Fetish splash screens weren't showing, so it's not loading at all. Also noticed that EQ2Map isn't loading and working either. I'm assuming that something with todays update screwed things up but haven't noticed anybody else posting the same problem! I feel so alone...... ;). Any help to get it back up and running is GREATLY appreciated! I'm not sure how to play without it.......hehe. Thanks!!! :nana:

I love this UI; it's my favourite colour: purple!

I have the default files loaded; I realize you explained how to set certain things up, but I'd like to get mine to look as close as possible to the ones in the screenshots on a 1024X768 screen resolution. Yes, small, but it's kind of hard to afford a new video card right now.

I would love to get this set up soon. ^_^

With the expansion coming out i know you won't have a fix for all the things the first day or two. I am on beta and know fetish nightfall is not working good there. For the first day what should I do before you come up with a fix for it all? On beta i just deleted the entire Fetish folder but hate to do that on live server unless that is the only way around it all. Or are you on beta too and plan to have a patch for it all quick?

One part I need help on. I did not see any posts on it.

My mouse cursor has a "flashing" black box around it, and the cursor itself flashes. Any suggestions?

Sounds like an issue with the hardware cursor. I'd check graphics drivers. When in doubt, update to the latest released version by ATI/NVidia, depending on which of the two you run, of course :).

NVidia is currently at 78.01, and ATI is at 5.8 .

If that doesn't help, you can always engage EQII support.

There have been problems noted with the 5.8 ATI driver on EQ2. I rolled back to 5.6

When will we see a LU13 compatible version released?

(i havent been able to log in yet, but i doubt its still working as alot of files were changed.. :) )

I was wondering too. Zonx has been AWOL since 9/2. I hope he hasn't quit EQ2 and EQ2 modding. I love his fetish mods and I can't think of playing this game without them now. :(

on LU 13 this UI is unfortunately not working.

It''s causing a "Cannot find character" error on the main login screen. (so if yer getting that, try renaming the eq2.ini and log back in ;o)

To get the UI to work without EQ2 complaining, rename these two files in the Fetish directory to have '.xml.fetish' extension or somesuch:

eq2ui_mainhud_persona.xml
eq2ui_examine.xml

After that, the new persona window works, and the new tooltips work.

Haven't checked deeper into it yet, to see where all the other main changes are - we may want to rename other stuff too to get the full use of LU13, until Fetish is updated.

To get the UI to work without EQ2 complaining, rename these two files in the Fetish directory to have '.xml.fetish' extension or somesuch:

eq2ui_mainhud_persona.xml
eq2ui_examine.xml

This works well for the time being,ty Gumba.

I was just thinking the same thing, well trying to figure out how to run fetish without certain files. There is no other UI that I have tried and liked as much as this one.

I was playing around with knowledge too, but the knowledgesort (which is new) got screwy. I'll let you guys know if I find more.

Folks, I am indead working on the update. Severs have only been up for about 4-5hrs. I hope to have something up by end of day.

In the interest of getting things running smoothly ASAP, I'll be releasing 4.5 without rekinned versions of the new arena windows. Persona Bar will be replaced for now with a reskinned version of the revamped default window. I expect to add in a seperate stat strip in the future.

Please do not bombard me with PMs.

On a side note, I do monitor this thread for new issues but don't have the time I once did to rehash questions already answered in this thread.

While you're working on the stat strip, would it be possible to make it so that my favorite stats show up, atk speed (haste) and dps? Perhaps in place of some of the less needed stats, like status points?

Man I got a new appreciation for ya Zonx... I've never played EQ2 without fetish installed, was told by my friends that I would want it and since i maintained a UI distribution in WoW I knew the importance of a solid UI.

I swear now the game is barely playable without your UI.
Keep up the good work, and in the meantime I will troll this thread like a crackfiend looking for my hookup.

Zonx, just something for QA while you are working on the compatibility changes: Changing current group loot options (in options, group) crashed EQ2 when hitting "Apply". May or may not have been UI-related - something to try when 4.5 is done.

Gumba,I have not had that probem.Sounds like something corrupted or just with all the server problems it might just be a server side problem with your packets.

Zonx,like a few others said,I refuse to play this game without your UI.It has the best features and covers just about all aspects needed for a game of this nature.You do great work bud and are much appreciated throughout the community.

Think its about time I made some contributing posts about your Fetish UI,

Firstly I am one of your earliest and longest supporters of the Fetish UI, until the release of Nightfall, of which became my favourite. Now enough of the kissing a$$, thought I would hop on the band wagon for that, on a seriously note, you have done an absolutely fantastic job and I have been very happy with your UI Modifications over time ..... :nana:

Times are changing quickly, people are wanting to get more usability and useful information from their UIs, a few things I would like to suggest if I may in a no-pun fashion, having sent many dozens of people your way who use your UI to date and will inevitably read this post.

Your falling behind the times somewhat, IMO your UI has been the best uptil lately, looks wise, usability, but it lacks alot of the other perks other UIs do, to the point I was considering at one stage rewriting your UI components to include these other perks.

Even though asked many times to do so, unfortunately this will take away from game play and unlike yourself have elected not to contribute (on a continual basis such updates) ie. Your doing the eq2 community an invaluable service. ;)

Anyhow, the points and suggestions I would like to bring forward, are those such as including information on the heritages / writs / L & L, etc etc, much like what Extreme / Profit and a number of other UIs have done, also to invlude other such perks as open / close all bank boxes (and bags) within the banking window. Same deal with Inventory bags. Also item usability shortcuts for imbued rings / weapons / manastone / Horse (mount), etc etc

I realise you have included alot of modification "alternatives" within your UI Mod, which is great, though I still dont see a nice version of Inventory_bag.xml which cuts out the title completely (wasted space nowdays with new contents listing provided with recent LU patches) except many different variations on postioning of the bags instead V/H/3/4/85%/75%/66% etc etc, which btw is nice and all but on a 1280 x 1024 not too many peeps are worried about it, more how many 24 slot boxes they can fit on the screen with bank open effectively. (Not having a go btw, see this as constructive critisim rather than the ass kissing 80% of the posting community have continually done over the last 9 months.

( btw, I support people giving you a pat on the back for a job well done, but how well done is another question, when comparing it to other UIs available - See me as the silent ass kisser who sent you many many users of your UI to date, which is what has prompted this post )

Ok well they are some of the simple functionality issues out of the way, now to bring to awareness I have heard you say on several occassions in previous posts listed here without pointing them out - Quote " Why when I can implement that myself ", and in some cases, with the intent I can do it better. Which I strongly believe you can .... Yet something has been holding you back, maybe its the becoming too comfortable with what you have, who knows ?

lol, I sit here writting this well aware of many of the high end players supporting the Fetish UI /jumps up waving hands - "I am one of them" - And realising that I will get alot of posts condemining what I have written here saying leave him alone he is doing a fantastic job, and honestly I realise that. See it as a post apart from the others to keep you on your toes and in check if this is truely a service you wish to keep providing to the EQ2 Community of such a high standard (Especially with the large following you have today)

Your a very talented XML programmer to say the least, very neat with code and very precise on your debugging of faults found, ie. Those erriterated in forum posts over time.

What you need though is some R & D, how about installing looking and playing with the other UIs on the board here, ie. Laffs has a few good ideas, So does Torran, Perdition, what can I say, Eye Candy Express, much like Extreme UI (Sweet installer used with the latest release /hint hint Nudge Nudge (Before it becomes a smack on the forehead)

Also wow look at Extreme's installer, at the end of it it initialises EQMaps project Auto Updater 1.0 Beta 8 and downloads the files for eq2 maps automatically. Well now why hasnt that been thought of earlier ?

Another point, Thor has got a nice auto updater about to start of his own ? Why not looking into using eq2interface website yourself to do something similar to how eq2maps does these sort of updates, just an idea, you have all the resources + people skills at your fingertips to make it happen.

Also maybe look into some of the extra maybe even addon perks such as Combat stats manager integration, etc etc. Many people use that these days or would like to use it without having to install multiple extra programs to do so.

Anyway all I am saying is, great you have a fantastic UI which I have been a die hard supporter of, but lately I have been looking into the others available, and found yours not to be so great anymore, some of it yes, sweet I would still use, but IMO looks and usability are one thing, but peeps today want more from their UIs today, and your Fetish, is not so Fetish any more and is slowly starting to slip IMO anyway :(

Please Zonx you have had the best of the best UIs to date, dont let it slip now.

This is your conscience calling, pulling you off your horse down to the level which you started at, to see what your up against. Maybe its a little high from up where your at to see that for now.

So see this as a "Keeping you in Check" post

Before you start putting alot of effort into maintaining a UI (eventually) only to find out that there are better ones including features you did not spend the time in researching.

After all, its the little things that add up to make all the difference in the end. :D

PS > Get onto Test, do what the others are doing ...... Have your UI near completion by the time the LUs are released. Then a simple test and off you go .... Posted and ready for download .... Now thats a good service provider, eh !

One who delivers in a timely fashion, we are all too used to waiting for you to catch up, many people, many many actually have left your UI to get other UIs who actually have it ready on time so they can play now, not later.

I think Fetish is the greatest UI and am patiently waiting for the update, using the EQII default meantime. I wouldn't consider using anything other UI in the meanwhile.

I'd actualy rather not bombared it with new added stuff like how good rewards are for quests or w/e it was. The thing i like the most about it is it's just a more highly advanced version of the standard UI. Hell if SOE got the rights to use it or did something similar i wouldn't even be downloading custom UI's because i wouldn't need anything else(excluding the map that is, i couldn't live without my colored dots).

I'm desesperatly like lost without your nice UI...

I do wish Zonx would include more features for some other mods out there. I still think it's the best overall complete set out there but others have some great pieces that Fetish has been lacking.

Just chiming in my 2cp to support the ui mod Zonx. Never played with a custom UI til a good friend turned me on to yours, and now I can't play without it. Unwilling to even try another one, although I'm sure there are some fine choices out there. I'd prefer to just wait patiently til yours is compatible with LU 13. :)

That's all we can ask for Z. As anxious as we all are to have THE BEST UI in existance back in operation, I'm sure the vast majority of us would prefer that you take the time you need to do it well.

Up to the users. The UI is fully skinnable. Some people have released Themes, check out the Fetish Themes download section. There will be as many or as few Themes available as people create.

Me, I am very happy with Classic. It's unobtrusive and doesn't get in the way with flashy colors.

I also like the way Fetish is lean. The autoinstaller is already available in the tools section I think for modders. I also use Goldie's startbutton but I really like Jaxel's OCD startbutton better but it's not Fetish compatible and it's a little to big. I wish atleast Goldi would update her's.

I wish people did make more themes. I know extremeUI has a 25 color theme pack which I think it would be cool if Fetish had. I just like some of the features of other UI but with the clean and lean look of Fetish.
