I don't know if other people have had this problem or if it's just me, but sometimes when I try to move things from one bag to another, it wont set in the new bag and I end up having to refresh the bags using the open all bags key for it to accept the new item. It's really not a big deal to me but was just wondering if maybe I'm doing something wrong or if there's a simple fix for this. Other than that, I've had no problems whatsoever and must say hands down this is my favorite UI and haven't had the urge to switch to anything different. :)
|
Any plans???
Zonx Everyone loves your UI and i havnt seen you on or posting as of late... Are you planning on a version 4.4? or does anyone know if Zonx is ok?
Istoff |
I'm allive and fine thx, just been actually playing the game ;)
A 4.4 update is coming soon with a few MINOR tweaks. These include: 1) Default target windows size made 50% wider since the new resize bug can't be fixed without also disabeling the auto-hide on those windows. 2) Several popular zones have been added to the map menus. Should make it easier to correct those occational bugged map issues. 3) Tweaked the default locations of several windows. 4) I hope to include character_server_setting.ini files for both 1600x1200 and 1280x1024. 5) Skill window color tweak incorporated. 6) Missing Helper window bottom style included. |
FuzzyNaval, sounds like you have an overlapping window issue. Keep in mind, turning off a window titlebar or its background does not actually reduce the size of the window. That area reserved for the hidden elements still blocks windows behind it.

Release 4.4
Version 4.4 is available for download.
Version notes Don't forget to rate the download and add it to your favorites if you haven't already ;) |

Day or two for Classic. If ya just HAVE to have it now, you can rip the updated files out of Nightfall. Note worthy files are:
_Fetish_mainhud_minimap.xml eq2ui_popup_zoneteleporter.xml eq2ui_mainhud_target.xml eq2ui_mainhud_impliedtarget.xml eq2ui_mainhud_raid.xml eq2maps/plugin_4.xml layouts directory and contents Other updated files are prety much just position tweaks. |
Power/health bar over npc heads
Thanks for the updates, Zonx, I recommend your UI to all my friends and we all think it's great!
One thing that a friend of mine is missing are the thin power/health lines that appeared over the head of the npc you had targeted during battle (I didn't notice them missing because my healers are always focusing on the group bars, so I just have my npc target window up by them). I did some searches and couldn't find any info on that. Could you identify what piece he could copy from the default to get that back? Thanks again for all the hard work :) |
Health and Power bars over NPC/Mob heads are contained in eq2ui_proxyactor.xml but these should be working fine with Nightfall and Classic.
There are settings under Game Options/Chat Bubbles to disable those bars. Might check there befor ditching any files. Chances are your friend disabled them by mistake. |
problem with load screens
im having a problem with the load screens they are too big and i cannot see the character names and such in my select window {edit} this is for version 4.4 of fetish nightfall
|
lildidaru, this happens when eq2ui.xml or eq2ui_newcharscene.xml are replaced by another mod or deleted from your custom UI directory. Reinstall the versions from Nightfall 4.4.

Like how u made the health taller in the raid window. As a healer that seems to help.

Graphics issues
1 Attachment(s)
Zonx, I've been using Fetish nightfall since version 3.5 and I love it. I just upgraded to a new PC and loaded version 4.4.
- On the splash screen the small artwork box is whited out. - Upon enter the game almost every menu box including chat and groups and target windows are whited out as well. - Also the game responds as if there is a ton of lag. (I've attached a screenshot so you can see what I am talking about.) Having upgraded versions many times i'm pretty familiar with the setup. However, when I had problems I read and followed the directions step by step. When Fetish isn't loaded the game runs fine and EQ2Maps runs fine with or without Fetish loaded. All Windows updates are loaded including direct x and .net. Since my issues are graphics related I'm wondering if my new PCs graphics cards are the issue. I'm running 2 Nvidia GTX 7800's with SLI. Other Machine specs: CPU - AMD Athlon 64 FX57 Ram - 2GB Hard Drive: two 80 GB Barracuda (Raid 0) Sound: Audigy 2 Let me know if there is any other info you'd like me to provide to you. Thanks in advace |
Sylven, this issue comes up occasionally... for some unknown reason your ZIP utility is not properly decompressing the images sub directory. You can either:
Open the ZIP and manually drag the files to the sub directories indicated in the ZIP utility (making directories as needed) or Copy the entire images directory from a prior install/backup. Nothing in the images directory has changed for several versions. |
Graphics Issues - Thanks Zonx
Thanks Zonx! I actually installed version 4.3 and everything was fine. I'll re-install ver 4.4 sans the image directory.
Side note: When ever people ask me what UI to use I always recomend fetish not just for the great design (there are lots of great designs out there) but also because you have updates within hours after a SOE patch and great response to users with issues. Thanks for being a green troll :) |
Larger hotket for Fetishnight
Is there an origional size for Hotkeys i can download for Fetishnight ? I have found one that says Large here http://www.eq2interface.com/download...fo.php?id=3838
but I am unsure if this would be bigger than the standard size. Also there are no instructions how to use this file. As a begginer to doing Custom Ui's i am a bit weary of doing anything that has no clear guide to it. Big thanks in advance if anyone can help me with this. Hedgeboy |
You should have the option to delete a post if you choose "edit" ;)
|
hedgeboy, read the doc. A 100% scale version is included in the ZIP. _100L_eq2ui_mainhud_hotkey.xml
|
true 75% bars
I was wondering if it would be possible to get hotbars that area ctually 75% of normal. The ones included as default are actually more like 85% of normal.
I looked at the code some and they really arn't 75% unless I'm confused again. :p On the other hand I d/l'd a set of 75% bars by another author and they are smaller than the default bars in the set so I can't be that confused. Not really a big deal, but I like as much real screen space as I can get with as little UI as to clutter it. Other than than, I love this UI and have been using it since I started playing. |
The original Hotkey icon size is 36x36. The default for this set is 27x27, which is exactly 75% scale.
The 4 pixels of padding around each button has not been scaled, resulting in an overall window size slightly larger than 75% scale. General feedback seamed to indicate this was the smallest most users wanted the buttons. Many felt it was too small, so I included 85% and 100% scale versions. You're more than welcome to upload a smaller version (skinned for Fetish) as an add-on ;) |

Bag resize issue
Just wanna say to start great UI, ive been real pleased with the work and the fixes done for this UI in quick manner
I got one little beef I cant figure out though Fetish has 3/4ths bag size, when I revert to another UI with full size bags, for some reason the bags dont resize and I get cutoffs losing like an entire column of items. Ive tried using default location/opacity tricks but this seems to not work, im just curious that in order to shrink the bag sizes there was a file placed to cheat it? or is there something I can do to fix it for all my UI's id almost perfer to have all my bags 100% sized any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks |
To work around the smaller bag size with other bag mods, you can do either of the following.
Delete your server_character_settings.ini for that toon (all windows will be reset to default values. or make the other bag mod userresizable=true then use window settings to restore it to default. Note: Bag mods with the StayPut feature should resize the window properly. |
I love this UI very much and use it since very beginning. However, I have find that I cannot see the actual AC of my character. Is there any method that I can see this information?? :p
|
You can see a numerical value for your own mitigation by inspecting yourself. F1 to target self, then right-click the health bars of the target window. Not possitive, but I think you can right-click the Player window too.
Been thinking about tossing in those numericals someplace, just haven't found a good spot to squeeze them in and test which (if any) Dynamic Data returns them. |
Is it possiable to set a different graphic for the implied target?
Hi Zonx,
Just wondering if it was posiable for me to alter my implied target graphics, and make them the ribbed format? Ive had look through the UI in UI builder, and see where I could add them, but not sure exactly how I would go any further. Firstly - is this posiable? Thanks :) Luth |
Hey Zonx
i dont have words for how cool this interface is but one little thing is irritate me :D sure they color purple and blue are great but not they best colors i like so want to hear now if any can help me or tell how easy/hard it is to chance me self  i favorite color is aquagreen so hope someone will help me/expalin me ho to get that color in to this nice interface dont no what color look great with aquagreen  hope some can help |
First let me say, like everyone else here :D , I love this UI.
There is only 1 thing that turns me off about it: the chunky-stereo equalizer look of the group and player windows. I agree with Eloora in that I much prefer a thinner "bar" look without the title bar for the player name. So I'm just jumping in line here to request an add-on that gives a look closer to the 2.5 version of the player and group bars/windows. |
I have followed Readme instructions to a "T."
The UI appears to load, but all my windows remain exactly as they were. The colors have changed, the buttons look different, when loading it said this was Fetish UI, etc etc etc etc. BUT When it finishes, I have just junk. Windows exactly as before but some invisible, etc. I have changed my screen settings to every conceivable one, 1280 X 1024 all the way to the smallest screen. Nothing helps. I have dumped it all, reinstalled 2 times, EXACTLY per the readme instructions. Any help? Anyone else have this problem? Seems that my old windows are staying put and not arranging according to the new UI...and some cannot even be seen. Thanks |
Lovin it
Hey Zonx still lovin the fetish nightfall...
But i did notice something with the map which just might be somthing that i didnt do or sumting but i dont know...everfrost and permafrost wasnt on any of the drop-downs when i was just lookin for them. Why is that? lol |
Luthander, replace fetish_bars.dds with the provided _ribbed_fetish_bars.dds as instructed in the doc.
GoldieDk, virtually all colors of the UI can be changed by editing the images with an image editor and tweaking the color codes in _FetishStyles.xml file. I suggest you read the FAQ on this site concerning DDS and XML editing. Also read thru the Developer Discussion forums. myskaal, appreciate the feedback. The set includes 3 bar formats, one of which is a simple 5 segmented rectangle. The "Titlebars" are color coded to match the map markers and double as clickable assist buttons, so its not just graphical fluff ;) Meridius, the standard install per instructions does NOT change your saved window locations. Optional server_character_setting.ini files were included in the latest version that you can use to replace your existing settings files if you want. It also sounds like you may be having issues getting the images to unzip to the correct directory location (known to happen on some systems). You may need to manually drag the images from the ZIP to the directory listed in the ZIP. shaggineq2, why is that? Prbly because that menu plugin is pushing 800 lines of code and I missed adding the handfull of lines for those 2 zones. While I do try to list every available zone in the menus, newer Eq2Maps may not get added to the plugin right away. I added these to my code base and will test, so they'll be included in the next release. |
ah cool cool Zonx, thanks. I wasnt sure if the maps updater was supposed to update the drop-downs or if it was sumtin that you do.
|
Just checking back in with a semi-update from my personal use.
I did indeed try out all versions of the bars available. After having played all this time now with the Fetish Nightfall default bars (the stereo eq ones :p ) I have to say that I really can't imagine going back to anything like the original UI bars. They're so much easier to read, and while at first I felt the futuristic look of them took away from the feel of the over all theme, I find now that they really add that much more good taste. You've spoiled me, Zonx. Thanks. :D |
Heya Zonx,
I'm having an issue with the target and implied target not saving it's size, I saw the previous post a ways back referring to it a little bit. I was wondering if there is anything I can do for it to keep the size saved? It always expands to the largest size and I resize it everytime I log in. Thanks again for your hard work, Great UI!! |
probs with fetish nighfall 4.4
ok i figured out the problem with the load screens now im not able to see my effects bar im getting very frustrated can anyone help me get it back ive tried the alt e trick and it does not work please help
:( :( :( :( |
Zenoxx, the target window resizing problem is a SOE issue. If you preffer the smaller target windows, I suggest you install just those files from the 4.3 version. Let me know if you need me to post them here.
lildidaru, Its possible that your prior sizing issues have resulted in your effects window being saved off screen. You may need to restore all windows to default locations via the Game Options window or replace your character_server_settings.ini with one of the provided versions. The Layouts directory contains setting files preconfigured for 1280x1024 and 1600x1200. |
Thanks for the quick response. I'm ok resizing when I log in so no need for files. Hopefully SOE will fix it again.
thanks again and great work!! |
I followed the directions but failed somewhere.
I installed the fetishnightfall. I follow the directions but either I misunderstood one step or they were wrong. These are what i followed
Mod by Fetish 1. If you have a prior Fetish UI, re-title that directory or delete it. 2. Create a new directory titled Fetish under your Everquest II\UI directory. By default... c:\program files\sony\everquest II\ui\Fetish 3. Open Notepad and copy/paste the following 2 lines of code cl_ui_subdir UI/ cl_ui_skinname Fetish 4. Save AS eq2.ini to c:\program files\sony\everquest II\ 5. Install and run the EQ2MAP auto-updater found at http://www.eq2interface.com/download...fo.php?id=3509 6. Unzip the contents of this archive into the Fetish directory, replacing all files when prompted. For more detailed info on FetishNightfall please refer to FetishNightfall.doc Now the simple thing I could say is that I did exactly this, and I feel that I did but obviously I didnt. (I'm assuming the mistake is with me not the instructions) 1) I had no custom UIs before this. 2) Went to this directory C:\Program Files\Sony\EverQuest II\UI created a new fold called fetish so that its addres iss the following C:\Program Files\Sony\EverQuest II\UI\Fetish 3 & 4) created the eq2.ini replacing the existing version of this (had the EQ2maps installed before this. I did this in the correct directory- the address is; C:\Program Files\Sony\EverQuest II 5) ran the EQ2maps auto updater. I deselected the auto launch eq2 so that I could finish the instal process of the the UI. This is what the eq2.ini file looks like currentlu after running step 5. cl_ui_subdir UI/ cl_ui_skinname Fetish 6) unzipped the zip file at this location C:\Program Files\Sony\EverQuest II\UI\Fetish It created a file with this address and put all teh contents into that fold was never asked to replace any files. C:\Program Files\Sony\EverQuest II\UI\Fetish\FetishNightfall_4_4 7) manually launched EQ2 no change. Ok I am pretty sure I followed Every step and direction as it was stated and I got no change to my UI. I have no expeience with modded UIs so I dont know what instructions were like before (Readme indicated things had changed). So what went wrong? |
Gothfather, extracting the zip should not create a sub directory of FetishNightfall_4_4. Most of the XML should be in the Fetish directory. Probably just need to move the contents of FetishNightfall_4_4 up to the Fetish directory and run the Map updater ;)
