Zone Selection Window and EQ2 map issues

I am having a problem with my zone slection window when entering instanced zones - like Splitpaw Harclave (ther are 3, low med hard, and All I ever see is "Sundered Splitpaw: Trial [cut off there]" instead of the whole .....Trial of Harclave (yadda). This "selection" window cuts everything off way short, and its not resizable ... the corners and sides bring up no "sizer" cursor, and moving the cursor with button-down only drags the window. I cannot even bring up the "properties" window for this interface piece. Since I can move it, its not locked. Also, I am having a lot of problems with EQ2 Map not bringing up the right map - and in many cases, its not even listed in the pulldown, although the caption (top of the window) lists the correct zone [cut off because its too long to fit after the tabs) and brings up the right map but the wrong zone's icons (I tend to get things like Nek Castle icons on the Cove map). Reset (lower left corner) just reloads the wrong icons. Whats the most frustrating is that sometimes the zone isnt even listed in the pulldowns so I can not manually fix the problemm. My suspicion is that maybe there is a memory leak with EQMap and its not a Fetish issue. But I wanted to check with you to see if you had heard of this map behavior. Thanks for any pointers. |

Kupotek, sry musta glossed past your question. Unfortunately I haven't found a way to activate sliders with the mouse or arrow keys.
Chumba, The zone teleporter window should be resizable, mine is ;) The issues you're having with the map window stem from the dropdown menus plugin. If its driving you nutz, delete plugin_4.xml and run the map updater to remove the menus. You can still select maps via the extranal MiniMap window. The problem is that EQ2Maps isn't setup to tell plugins when the map and its icons are fully loaded or when the map changes in a multimap zone like Antonica. I wind up having to use scripts to detect what map and icon set is loaded when you open the map window. Unfortunetly it is possible to open the map window befor it's fully loaded the map and icons, which can give the plugin incorect info, causeing it to load the icon set and/or map from the last zone you were in. It can also result in the blank map image. In most cases you can fix these by selecting the current zone/area map from the menus and hitting the set button. In some cases (especially newer maps) the zone hasn't been added to the menus, so you can't correct a bugged map while in that zone. Its also possible that completely new zones like Splitpaw compound these issues since they didn't exist when the plugin was last updated. Some tips on avoiding these prbs if you choose to keep the menus: 1) Always wait a few seconds after fully zoning (camera view changes to propper angle) before opening the map window. 2) When you first log in, togle the map window open, closed, open. 3) After zoning, if the reset and set buttons are dimmed, toggle the window. 4) If you cross a map swap line with the map window open, hit the set button. An update for the menus is planned but honestly I've been occupied with other stuff and don't know when I'll get to this. Its very complex code. |
The zone window is not resizable on my box - I even went as far as a complete reinstall of FNF4.3. It neither resizes, nor allows a "settings" window to be opened.
What should I be looking for in terms of stuff in the file? Its hard to pick from multiple zones when the good stuff is cut off, and I cannot resize it. thanks for anyhelp you can send my way Zonx. |
Skills Window Fix?

Lat update of the FNF is 28 June, and I think the newest release (12) of the SOE UI may break some things in FNF. Remember folks, Zonx does this for free in his spare time. So be patient. I'm sure he'll post an ETA on the newest version of Fetish.

Alas, my game is crashing with Fetish now, so I had to set it back to the normal GUI for the time being. *sob*
This was SO depressing! I totally had forgotten how terrible the old SOE UI was! How can anyone play that way? Hey SOE, why dont you pay Zonx losta money and let HIM do your UI! For the love of the lost Gods of Norrath, PLS make an update, I can't stand this horrible SOE GUI! |
Can you elaborate? So far the only issue with FNF 4.3 I've seen is that the target windows are now resetting to default size.

Yeah I had the same problem. I would log in to game and as soon as zone would almost lode would get a critical error and it would dump me out of game. I removed all files and reinstalled game and then reloded UI and it gave me the same error. I removed the Fetich and it runs perfect albight everything stinks now because everything is huge again.

The only Issue so far that I have run into is that the Target Window and Implied Target Window are now a little 1 inch by 1 inch square and cant be stretched any bigger or moved.
I have Nightfall downloaded along with Goldies start button, and the Milquetoast mods for nightfall as well. M |
No Update to Fetish and No Problems Either
Is there a reason why Fetish was updated today? I was reading the forums about something to do with the target window not working, but all seems fine on my end. Just do not want to download and install the latest version without finding out what was broken and what is now fixed????

I upgraded to Fetish 4.3 earlier this week after a few weeks break from the game, and that appears to be the current file?
I just patched LU12 and logged on, tried most of the windows (Quest, Inv, Map, Skills, Recipe Book etc), and there doesn't seem to be any problem. Haven't checked my room yet though, although I don't think anything to do with rooms has changed, so it should still be ok. Kasalic the Suicidal Bard Dying all over Norrath for 500 years. |
Target and Implied Target resizing to the small default size is a new bug introduced with LU12. I hope to resolve this soon. Untill then the windows should be resizable and seam to only snap back to the default size on log out and if you change con stystems.
Crashes and issues with the skill window are likely a result of an outdated eq2ui.xml. The version suplied with Fetish mods numbered 4.3 is current. It should be identicle to the default eq2ui.xml with the following lines added just below the skininfo line... <include>_FetishStyles.xml</include> <include>_FetishStyleSamples.xml</include> (The second include actually isn't required) |
Sorry Zonx, likely I used a Version older than 4.3 (somehow I lost track of my version.) I downloaded 4.3 and it works.

mail problem
the only problem i am having is sending an item in the mail.... i can place an item in the mail slot but the send button does not light up?
any suggestions? this only started happening after the update. |

Problem with TacoMan autoupdater
Zonx, I am using your nightfall and Taoo' s auto map updater and from time to time I will notice Antoica map POI while in Nektolus Forest, or simmaler problems. I have been able to correct this properly choosing the corract map in dropdown, however if i close the map and reopen it goes right back to the same issue. Is there anything you know of that is causing this?

Yes 4.3 is fully operational. The only issue introduced with LU12 is the target window resiz bug which isn't game breaking.

oops forgot to mention i am using FNF 4.3 and using tao's release of 1.0, I am always on top of your updates as thats the type of person I am.

Not sure if this is posted elsewhere but Landiin asked me to post this over here. I noticed a quirk with the _fetishstyles.xml If the scroll area for any particular window is too long the the scroll bar disappears. I edited min thumb size to 21 and it doesnt disappear anymore. Just tried 20 as well and it appears to have worked too.

Still no-joy on the resize for zone choice window in Splitpaw.
For now I just renamed the file to _FNF.[filename].xml, like I did with the bags when I put Jaxel's 6 wide 4/3 bags in, and Goldi's button (which I HIGHLY recommend for everyone). |

I was wondering if my eyes were deceiving me and my Target windows were resizing back down. Hehe, I was like... did it... nah... wait... yup, it did.
I had recently switched to a large 24" widescreen monitor and went from 1280x1024 resolution to 1920x1200 and the same day the new patch came out, I thought it was the resolution change screwing with my eyes, hehe. Hey Zonx! How ya been man? I've been away for a little while and haven't gotten to add my input lately. Curious if there's a chance to have the information at the top of the guild window's 'event or main' page show on all the pages. That's good stuff. |

I really enjoy the UI however have a problem that just bugs me.. some of the fonts seems squished together..
In the broker window I can't read the name of the seller it's just squished so close together.. and it appears to be the same font on the Clock window that tells me the time of day and year i cant make any of that out. Any Ideas? Thanks Curate |

1. I have the same problem with the Broker Font, the name of the seller it's just squished so close together, can't read the name of the seller. Is there an option to change the font to another one? 2. And then Is the target window problem, any word on a new version or update Zonx? Keep up the good work! Thanks Tex |
