Chat windows reset
 

Every time I log into the game, regardless of the character, all but 2 of my chat windows disappear, and the fonts sizes reset from what I set them to and are now at 20. The first new chat window I open has the chat filter options saved, but position, size, and other window settings are at default. I had this issue a long time ago, but it was resolved with a patch SOE released a couple months ago. All I've done since then was update your Fetish Nightfall UI. I've completely deleted the Fetish folder and installed all files from the zip you provide, but that doesn't correct it. I've also deleted my existing character.ini files and rebuilt them from game default. All other windows save except for the two chat windows.

I'm sorry if I missed a thread that has the solution to this in it. I searched everywhere I could think of and didn't see anything that looked like it applied to my problem.

zorander, sounds like you have a corupted character_server_settings.ini file. This is a SOE bug. You must REPLACE the file with an uncorupt version or SOE will simply pump down another corupt version. Search the FetishClassic support thread for a replacement file someone attached there. I believe someone also added it to the downloads.

Zorander, Not sure if this will fix everything but I was having a problem with my chattext not saving either, it was always resetting to 17. What I ended up doing was opening my RECENT settings ini (whatever its called, I cannot look this up as I dont have the game installed -- comp died) while I was in game and changed the line where it says chat_fontsize from the size it had to the size I wanted. I also made sure that my font in game was the size I wanted. Then I camped to desktop, and the problem was solved. I suggest backing it up before fiddling with it, if you intend to go this route.

Hello Zonx. i know that this ui, the nightfall one, is simply from splash screen to finish, but i was wondering if you plan on working on the beginning of the setup. i have one minor suggestion if you do think of working on everything. can you set it up so that SOE will have "I Agree" be the default so that i can press the enter key when it comes up? as it is, i have to guess where it is, and have my mouse ready to click on it. it's a minor thing, but it would sure be nice to have that option ready for the enter key right away. you've done a fantastic job with the ui so far, my husband and i thoroughly despise the default ui and cry when we have to delete this one because of incompatabilities that sometimes turn up with updates. and when i say cry, i mean it literally. my husband was in a towering rage because SOE screwed up the ui files one time with one of their updates, the one that first started messing with the guild window, i think. he was so pissed because he had to delete nightfall because we kept on crashing too often. it was ironic tho, two hours after he deleted it, you had the update up. lol

Unfortunatly the patcher is an entierly seperate program I don't think we can mod without breaking the EULA. Prety sure SOE keeps the "I Agree" button as a must click thing for legal reasons.

how to disable the scrollbar in Fetish Classic (Gothic)?
 

Can anyone here tell me how to disable the scrollbar in Fetish Classic (Gothic) i never use it and i would like to konw how to errase it and if possible the stealth chat option too??? :confused:

Funny thing about that is that they do provide us with the PNG files (i think thats what they are) somewhere in the Station folder. And there is a folder called "skins" or something. They also give us several XML files in various folders as well. As to the modability though *shrug*

anyone wanna help me? i stil cannot get the ui to work :(

.ini Issues
 

Hello Boya and Girls, I was having the .ini bug with the fetish Nightfall mod and i followed Zonx advise and to no avil even after i downloaded the "Clean .ini" it still did not save. I called SoE tech support and they stated that the last update had a bug where it doesnt matter what you do to the ui when you log out the Default.ini saves over the character setup. The Tech said to make the ini file work you needed to run in windowed mode and save the ini files to a seperate directory before you log out. Then before you launch the game the next time copy those .ini back to the main EQ2 directory. This will have to be done every time until SoE figures out what they goofed on. This pertains to any extra chat windows and font settings you wish to keep. The tech said this is the only workaround they had at the moment.

I tried what Zonx and dc_roenfanz said to do, but all that changed by using the provided .ini file from the classic thread is now 3 windows remain between log-ins instead of 1. The fonts are still resetting and any windows beyond the first 3 are gone. Guess I'll have to wait for SOE to patch again.

Big thanks to Zonx for providing this awesome UI as well as providing such timely support. Thanks to everyone else as well who's helping us novices out with these kinks that SOE throws in just to make life hard on us all.

Group Buttons go missing in full group
 

Hiya Zonx

I seem to be getting a small problem with the ui when in a full group (ie 6 )

when in a full group the buttons for disband etc dissappear under the last person It's ok with five as they move along ok but with 6 there is a problem.

I am quite happy to accept that it could be me :( and if so how do I fix it?

Any help would be appreciated on this one, not a major problem but would be nice to solve :)

I am still having the issue of the Auto Assist. When I select the person I want to assist it doesn't change my target like it used to. My attack turns on but I end up attacking the implied target rather then changing targets. Is there something I need to change in one of my files to get this to work again?

fbaggy, its not just you. The original group window didn't provide a button area for full groups and I haven't gotten around to working up the code required to support it (alot more complex than it may seam).

Khitajrah, I'll double check the assist feature to make sure its working as intended. Might have been broken in the last patch.

I was hoping someone would have some insight as to what is causing my disappearing scrollbar problem i explained a couple posts back. In responce to PresumedEvil, there are two versions of the Goth theme. I am using the one for Nightfall, but even so, I think it would only cause color inconsistancies if I had the wrong one.

What kinds of things might be making my scrollbar (the part that shows you where you are and that you can drag) when the page it is scrolling is very long (ie unfiltered recipies, chat text after awhile)?

Burlen, this can happen if the scrollbar style is stup with an minimum thumbsize to small to show the whole thumb image. Its possible something got borked in the last update.

Could you plz confirm you're using the latest version of the FetishStyles.xml from that theame by redownloading and applying the theme. If the problem is still present, let me know and I'll look into a fix.

It seems that the thumb is not visible in the tradeskill window (recipe book) with Goth Classic at all. The subpages are, say when you edit the filter, but the main scrollbar is missing its thumb. I just noticed that myself. And at 500ish px high, im pretty sure its not cuz the window was too small.

I found a fix for this problem.. On this thread there is a ini file that I used to replaced my corrupt one. After loggin in I got everything (all windows and filters) how I like them, then logged out, and when I logged back in everything was retained. All font sizes and windows where good. The only hassle is having to get everything set back up the first time, but it's worth it in the longrun.

hey for some reason my target window only shows up when i am assisting the tank (when i target someone who is targeting something else), but when i target something i get nothing if you could help me would be greatly appreciated

I redownloaded the FetishStyles.xml from the Fetish Nightfall Goth Theme and am still having the problem.

Goth Theme Scrollbar Fix
 

Open _FetishStyles.xml in Notepad

Search for name="vscroll"

In that object's parameters, change:

Thumb.MinSize="17"
to
Thumb.MinSize="20"

This tweak will be included with the next posted versions of both Goth themes.

This same tweak to the Nightfall and Classic sets will slightly increase the minimum thumb size for very long scroll pages and may make it a tad easier to grab. It may also cause the thumb to disapear from very small scrollbars like on the Guild MOTD.

Zonx I recently tried to set my inventory window to shrink and stats by default. I opened the inventory.inventory.xml, as specified in the Doc, and i copy and pasted the code you had listed in Doc straight to the notepad, 8th line, after having deleted the pack location that was listed. When I logged in I for inventory didnt work, nor did the long way thru the menu. What did I do wrong? Thanks in advance for the reply :) Oh and before I forget, I also tried it without deleting pack location , just added everything but that to the line.

I have my character on a live server and one on the test server. I am using Fetish nightfall for both. If I want to have the same screen set up for both what do i need to do/copy from my live server to the test server folders?

Example: I play Oeric on Blackburrow normally, its named: blackburrow_oeric_eq2_uisettings.ini

For my test character (also oeric) it is: (IIRC)
test_oeric_eq2_uisettings.ini

You will want to check yoru pre-existing test uisettings file for total correct name usage. Make a backup of the current settings file (rename it) and replace that one with a copy of your live uisettings file, then rename to match the old test uisettings name

I haven't seen anything on it posted, maybe I am missing it, but I am having a problem with the selectable text in the windows for the griffin towers, quests, and such being invisible. I can still make selections, but I have to guess at what I am selecting. Is there a fix for it?
Also, I have noticed lately that when you move from the eastern most part of the map to the western most, or vice versa, on maps with two parts, that all the POI from the previous side overlay onto the new side. This only happens if the map is open while I move from one side to the other, so I can get around it, but do you know of a fix to stop it from happening?

It sounds like you have the old 4.1 version. This was a big problem after LU10. You need to upgrade you 4.2

I need some help... i followed the directions in the readme.txt but when i go to log on i get nothing that looks like what it should. Everything seems to be turned down when i use the regular ui everything is bright easy to see when i try and use fetish it turns all dark. so any help would be greatly appreciated,

Nothing in the Nightfall UI should affect how the game world appears.

Well that can proably be adjusted but it still dosent display everything like the pics posted.

Maybe post a screenshot? Can't tell from your description what else might be wrong.

95% of install issues are a reult of not installing EQ2Maps properly.

Heres a screenshot should i try running eq2map and see if that fixes it?

Looks like your image files have been misplaced, but I would run the map updater anyway, just in case

I ran the map updater but nothin changed. when you say image files misplaced what do you mean that i didnt put into the ui directory correctly?

Under the Fetish directory, you should have an images directory with several image files in it. The images directory should also have sub directories for icons and maps.

Opening the zip should show you all the images and directories paths they should be unzipped to.

I guess thats the problem since all i have in the image directory is a map and icon folder. So shouldnt these images be in the 4.2 download? and if not where am i supposed to get them from? other themes?

They are in the 4.2 ZIP. Not sure why they didn't unzip properly for you, but they are in the ZIP with the crrect paths.
