so is there a localized area to download everything? or do i have to go through each page and download from the posts? also where do the dds files get put?
|
In the interest of mapping quality, I'd rather have the bossroom added than walk 'off the map' - of course, I am not the one doing the work.
I'm a stickler for details, as I'm sure you can see from my quest posts, and having an incomplete map would bother me :P |

The Forest Ruins
Zone Point: Condemned Catacomb Entrance (1,043.76, -19.07, -797.15)
Could this location be added to the Forest Ruins icons? |
Does that zone in work now in Forest Ruins?

This is an edit of the most recently posted map.xml from quib post #477. This will add all the functionality needed to implement the quests part of the window. It will show the page which is external that way I can update it as I please and not have to download the newest version and put out a whole new one.
|
Your button's been commited to my xml (erm, made a permanent thing). Do you mind changing your xml file name from QM_EM_eq2ui_mainhud_map_quests.xml to EM_eq2ui_mainhud_map_quests.xml?
Getting things sorted out, and two prefixes on your quests window xml is silly. I've made some major bugfixes to basic functions of the map window including fixing the escape key blocking, and making stuff fade properly when the window options are changed. Killarny, I added that loc. Quib |
just change the one reference in the display button and I'll swap the filename
|
Done. Also... could I have a peek at your quests file? I want to see how these integrate. I'm adding a bunch of foolproof checks to the minimize button and your quests button and a couple things would be easier if I could see your window. If you don't want it public in this thread yet, throw me a PM and I'll give you my e-mail address. Or, if you don't want me to see it yet, no worries. I'm trying to figure out if Parent.EM_Quests.Visible=true/false will be necessary or if we can just leave it visible all the time.

I MADE A SCROLLABLE TEXT BOX!!!!
:nana: :nana: :nana: :nana: :nana: :nana: :nana: :nana: |
I've already checked it out, your minimize works fine, it just throws my button off by one press. You could ad into it when it makes it bigger again
EM_QuestBUtton.onpress=EM_QuestButton.onpress1 thatll fix everything up just fine. but the state of the quests displaying has no effect on anything else |
"I MADE A SCROLLABLE TEXT BOX!!!!"
Woo! /dance "the state of the quests displaying has no effect on anything else" Then can EM_Quests's Visible property be set to true always and not have buttons change it? It keeps the different buttons more properly in sync. Can't wait to see it in action! Quib |
I made it non visible because the page is so close to the original map window's boundaries that it shows up in the window when it is not supposed to, if I move it out it'll just bloat the window up bigger than it needs to be
|
Can you give me the location/size of the quest window? It'll help me wrap up my redone minimize button. I already made a fake stand-in for your quests window for testing, I just need to plug-in the dimensions.
Quib |
Got it! And thank you. I'll have the newest version of the map window ready soon to make sure everything's still ok.

Ah! Diztorded, do you still have the full loc values? I need the middle number too for location icons (rather, to draw a proper find trail to them, if you didn't save the original logs, I can cope without).

Here's my newest xml file. I think I've fixed any issues where the keyboard input got trapped in the Path Finder textbox. I added code for Eloa's Quest Window and included a dummy version of the file necessary for it to hide the Expand Quests button.
Eloa, the included EM_eq2ui_mainhud_map_quests.xml is an empty placeholder for your quest window, be careful not to overwrite your quest window with this dummy file. I split your Expand Quests button into two buttons, "Expand Quests" and "Collapse Quests." Everyone besides Eloa, make sure you extract EM_eq2ui_mainhud_map_quests.xml into your UI folder or EQ2 will not load. Quib |
Heres v2.5 with graveyard icons/pathfindlocations done
EDIT: See next post |
and here we are! graveyard and the caves lvl 1 and 2 icons/pathfindlocations included in 2.5
see next post by me |
Couldn't resist, welcome to post 500 of this thread! :nana:

Wailing Caves vs. The Caves
When in the Wailing Cave and I have the map up and the curser over the map, it shows The Caves 1 & 2, when I move my curser off of it, I still see The Caves but it is superimposed over The Wailing Caves Map.

You guys are doing a super job!
can't wait for a zip with all maps until now :) |

quib, in downloading your latest 2.5 I'm unable to bring up the Mainhud in uibuilder. The only subpages listed in Mainhud are Map and Proxyactor, seems like you have a page that doesnt stop or doesnt start or something...damn hand editing.

Thank you.. just, y'know, thanks. To everyone. For being awesome.

here use this one eloa, most updated one to my knowledge, 2.5 with graveyard and the caves 1 & 2
|
That one doesnt have any of the quest functionality I posted last night
|
Nevermind its probably a result of me not renaming my quests file. I'm dumb. Though I did figure out scrollable pages earlier :)
|
Well, I got it all working. I have a problem that I'd like your guys' inputs on.
I want to make a list of the quests for <this zone> when it shows the map. Done, When you click on a quest, It lists the quest details in another box (page). Then each step of the quest made into a button that way you can click it and it has a pathfindlocation assigned to it (each step). In order to do this every quest will have to have it's own page that shows and hides when needed. Thats like a million pages. I can go with a plain text box that just lists the details, one major disadvantage to this is that I can't put <enter>'s into the text box so everything will run together...Opinions? Suggestions? |

Eloa, are you asking whether we think you should use pages or just scroll boxes? I'd say take the complex route with buttons and pages; the end result will be amazing for guiding people through quests.
Ok, I accidently figured out how to kill fog in any zone, but there's a bug: upon logging in you have to zone once before any map will show. I'm attaching the xml for learning purposes and in case anyone can fix the bug. The parts that hide the fog are OnShow="MapPage.Size=438,510" and the MapPage's Size property initially being set to 1314,510. Quib |
haha thats great quib!
|
So could you use that to get unfogged screenshots of, say, Antonica?
