Hi,

first of all this is the first mod I've installed and I'm really satisfied. You've done a great job.

Perhaps this question is asked before, but I didn't find it.

But is it possible to hide the blue horizontal bars, that spit the screen? I normally don't play with all my inventory open and don't need that much space. I'd rather like a bigger playing window, but playing with these bars is a little bit annoying. Or is it perhaps possible to set them to another position?

I have some more questions on how to do stuff. I don't know if any of this is difficult to do, if so, consider it a suggestion for future releases!
How can I add a button to the vault tab (store window) to open the house-vault itself?
On the quest window- first I moved the slider to the top as you suggested to someone else. This solved my problem with accidentally mousing over the bar and resetting the reset button. It would be handy if you included the slider on top version in future release or actually made it the default. The question is, is there an easy way for me to add a 1 forward and 1 back button to the slider as well?

Is the mouseless zoning supposed to work at the Mariners bells or just Zone gates. It hasn't worked for me if it supposed to work at the bells. I installed the full version of Fetish Nightfall. Is the mouseless zoning included?

Sounds like you haven't installed the hotfix for publish 9... scroll back about a page or so, and you'll see a post by Zonx with a patch you need to add on to fix those bars. (They're the letterbox frame.) He's working on 4.1 atm, which will fix a lot of the bugs put out with the last patch.

replicants, as explained in the feature list, clicking a player, pet, or target name assists them. To target a group member directly, click anywhere in their group box EXCEPT their name.

Burlen, I don't think its possible to open the Vault from anywhere but the PlayerHousing window but you could try copying the button from that window to someplace else.

Yes I plan to include a slider on top version of the QH window.

Unfortunetly there doesn't seam to be any way to step thru the quest list via buttons. I tried this, but the decimal value generated by math functions can't be used to set the selected quest number and there's no way to strip the decimal off.

spyplane, your cursor needs to be over the zone/bell and you must use the "F" key (default right-click action) to activate the zone porter without the mouse. I generally keep my cursor over my toon's left or right shoulder and only use the mouse for inventory dragging.

Similarly, I always leave my inventory window up but shrunk. Every time I log in it defaults to full size. I rearranged my page elements to accomodate it and am used to it, but if there were a way for the interface to remember my shrink setting on the inventory window it would be very cool.

A guildmate had this problem and all he had to do was move the window and try again.

Even moving did not work, but I do not think it is honoring the check box because eventhough it was checked to not generate events I still did.

Ditto re 'dont generate', and moving doesn't help.

Also, there is no Froglok village map. This can be remedied by using EQ2Map Updater to overwrite the eq2ui_mainhud_map.xml file. The latest file will display the Froglok village map.

Guild Events Checkbox should be clickable with 4.1. I've heard rumor there's a bug on SOE's end that can prevent the option from sticking even with the default window.

Map updater needs to be run occasionaly for the latest POIs and maps as usual.

Test has added a "collections" tab specific for collections quests, which is why the Fetish Journal no-workie.

Take a look at the test patch notes posted by dolby for relevant files that need to be deleted. They'll contain "quest" or "journal" in the title.

Maps displaying wrong
 
I can't get my maps to display the correct zone and/or icons. When I zone in somewhere it seems I get some radom map or the map of where I just came from. In addition, selecting Enchanted Lands East give me West map but east icons, and the opposite for when I am on the west side (shows east map with west icons) from the drop down will give me to wrong map but the correct icons.

I followed the instructions per the .doc file.

I'll try to get a screenshot if this makes no sense.

Confirmed bug with the Event Filter Tab's Privacy checkbox. Temp fix for this is to change the following code in eq2ui_mainhud_guild.xml

Aumelen, I'll check the EL menus, its quite possible I reversed the East and West map references.

As noted previously, map issues can arrise if you cross the swap line of a multi-map zone with the map window open. It also appears some recent change by SOE or possibly EQ2MAPs can cause problems if you zone with something other than the default map loaded. Using the menus + the new Set button should correct these issues if they come up.

Also noted previously, if you're not happy with the issues the menu plugin can cause, you can trash plugin_4.xml from the eq2map directory and run the updater to disable it. Should prevent the wrong map/wrong POI issues.

Come to think of it, I think I did have my map window open when I hit the swap area in EL.

I just downloaded this interface today and love it! I am having the same issue, except that I do not have a checkbox at all. I downloaded 4.1 so I'm assuming that it should have this - I searched the file for this line of code in order to repair it and could not even find this line of code at all.

Quest Journal
 
With today's patch (6/8/05) I lost the ability to open the quest journal. Just curious if anyone had a fix or new version for it.

You've got to be kidding! The patch barely came out an hour ago!!

How on this green earth do you expect him to have it done already?

Open your fetish folder and search for eq2ui_journals_quest.xml and delete it for now.

EDIT: listed wrong file, my bad.

Actually, I didn't *expect* anyone to have it fixed, I was just hoping :)

And even though the patch came out, I'm sure that it's been on test for a while which would give people the opportunity to see it coming. Not to say that's what should happen, just that it could.

I just replaced the files with the default ones for now, but I really like the split pane :)

Posting this as a bug to start being worked on since the recent patch came out today.

When I goto ride a griffin the names dont show they are blank but I can click them knowing where each tower is, I just cannot see them. So its like a dang, hope that's right :O

Also noticed when you click items etc to be offered a quest and that window pops up. those are unreadable also.

Quest Journal thing isn't a bug it's SOE being smart and not making the game crash for something really mundane.. read about 2 posts or so above... and what do you mean by "selectable words"?

Been having 'exact' same problem.. been trying to find which .xml file it's associated with ... with no luck.. none of the 'examine'.xml's are the correct one any help?

I am going to reply to his thread about Selectable words. I think right now. any pop up windows (for instance the ones stated above) Quests (inspecting a collection item gives you a popup) In those windows (the pop ups) are the words, "Would you like to add this to your collection of Fine Wood Elf Chicks ! :p and of Course I say "Yes, please add this hottie to my rather large collection of Hot Wood Elf Chicks" ;) only now I cant see what I am selecting. its a blank line but I can click the area to select the text and hope I don't click the one that says "No I don't need any More Hot Wood Elf Chicks, tell her to leave". :nana: :nana:

It will be nice when we can once again see those words. I think it has something to do with SoE changing a font, all my guilldies have been talking about having to get used to the new font. although I would not know as I am using a Custom UI and Really don't feel like disabling it.

although it being on the test server lets you know its coming, its a bad idea to work with files from the test server, and with good cause. example: exp bars made from the file from the test server when they added vitality made people made people crash to desktop when they camped and switched characters when used on the live servers after they moved the patch over from the test server to the live server since they had changed some things between moving from test to live.

The test server will give you a heads-up on upcoming UI / XML changes, but coding based on the test server changes isn't a good idea.

When SOE added Vitality, some modders went ahead and coded their UI for the vitality additions based on what was on the test server. However, SOE made slight changes to their files when they published the update to the live servers. This caused those people who coded for the test server vitality to have bad files for the live server version.

Problem with pop ups
 
I believe for collections you have to drag the item into your journal after examining it - so I don't think you will see the do you want to add the hot elf chick bit anymore.

I'm having this same problem too, as I'm sure many of us are.

Zonx, I love your UI, I would never use anything else for my crafting!! Please find a way to fix this new bug. I know you didn't cause it, but obviously you're way smarter than I am, and are quickly working on the patch. Keep up the great work.
