or
You could try "not allowing windows off screen" within the in game options under user interface.

Sounds like the pet window is off screen somehow. (This usually happens from using the same window settings from another cutom UI)

i am having problem see arrmor. i see rings and wrist but nothing else.

I've setup my inventory window to be as small as possible while still being functional.
You should notice a small round button on the top left corner of the inventory button. (Press it) :)
Also note, you may learn all the features of each window by clicking on "options" within the thorui then selecting the features tab. You will notice a small button with "..." at the end of each feature. Click it for a screenshot and full description.

What is the window placement file?

They hold the information for all your windows and how you have them setup. (per character)
servername_charactername_eq2_uisettings.ini
For example:
UNREST_faetyl_eq2_uisettings.ini

I have them available under options/features and there is a window wizard available under options that Robert was so kind to setup for us.

I've attached the one I use with Faetyl. Note I play in "full screen" no widescreen letterbox.

I used your file u supplied and have the pet window up

I will see how I like the current placement of things and then maybe change the rest of my char to that window layout.

I only have one char that has a pet my summoner

EQ 2 Uploads 9 h after Installing ThorUi

i`m going to install Thorui first time. Afer instaling the Ui EQ 2 is going to Update over 9 h :eek: . Is this normal?

Yes and no.

It's pretty normal if you've just installed the game and on a slow (dial-up) connection and/or a slow computer.

But it's not normal if you've already got the game installed and up to date (from all the patches/updates and what not).

I remember one time when I had to wipe/reload my machine, I was looking at a 3+ hr wait for EQ2 to finish patching (and I'm on a T1 speed cable connection).

I have a DSL 6000 speed conection to The Internet, and EQ 2 was up to date ( I was in the game befor installing Thorui). I wonder wat it is. The download speed is between 2500 and 5500 Kb p s.

If this happens you should probably stop the update and then wait 10-15 min before trying again. An update should take under 2-3 minutes on a DSL connections. Perhaps the server was having a problem.

Even considering a dial-up I'd estimate that a total update of all features from the Thor UI feature set should take a MAXIMUM of 15 minutes.

I just got back today after a while of not playing and updated the UI. I noticed one small problem, the start button doesn't work. The start button seems to have something that is bugged in it, because when I try viewing the UI using the uibuilder ProxyActor and the IME tabs are not there anymore and are part of the MainHUD section. Going to see what is wrong so that I could help Faetyl at least once while i can heh.

I'm not seeing anything wrong with the startbutton on the server.
Perhaps try renaming yours and allow the updater to pull down a fresh copy?

ThorUI AU and EQ2.ini?
 

I see that ThorUI now updates EQ2.ini, however everytime it does this, it overwrites the line that enables FSAA in EQ2, "r_aa_blit 1". Is there a fix or workaround for this?

Go into advaced options and check the option to "Not update files that are newer than on server". Once you edit the ini file it will not be updated again. This applies to all files in all manifests, just edit them and they automatically are recognized as no longer being part of any updates. Easy enough eh?

Well its weird, the start button is exactly the same as the original one, except that now it uses the thorui widgets file. so i need to see what other files might be causing the problem...

hi, i reloaded thorui everything works but when i hit alt-o my option window opens but doesnt show,all the options like lighting shadows are there but when i open them there is no options to check or uncheck

I've never modified or included this window in the thorui.

Might want to make sure none of the other mods you've been using have files in the thorui.

With that said, delete "eq2ui_options.xml" if it exists in the thorui as it's not mine ;)

i`ve installed the Ui and coosen the full option. After updating it starts EQ2, but nothing is canged, i see the standart ui.

i´ve winXP pro sp2 EQ 2 is on standart Path Thorui allso.

Hawk, make I'd suggest checking the path of your eq2 directori within the ThorUI AU again, just to be sure

Faetyl, I was just wondering if you might know of a way to change the default webpage in the in-game browser, becomes a bit tedious to navigate to the right page all the time :P
