I seperated the gauges into their own files t_gauges.tga and t_gauges_2.tga..
Sounds like you are missing those .tga(s) from your images folder..

Did you install over an old an old version?
If so, you'll have to recopy one of the images_color (ie images_purple) folders to the main images folder..

Kind of a noob question, I love the statbar for seeing my melee resistances vs crushing slashing etc, but is there a way to set it so that it's always displayed at login? Right now I have to /show_window to make it pop up. Thanks =p

21 March Patch
 
As of today's patch, the EQ2 client crashed on examining anything that you have equipped.

So I took the opportunity to upgrade to the latest version of Tablets II. Same problem. Removing equi_examine.xml prevents the crashes though.

Question, relating to the upgrade rather than the patch:

I was using the twin experience bars with edventure and artisan levels shown at the same time. That seems to have disappeared. Will it be coming back?

Totally custom windows do not save their visible state.. There is a way to rig it so it will open on login..

I will look at fixing it up and hopefully finish the skinning a little later this week.. When I get some free time.. Very busy this week..

I don't remember a mod with all that.. Unless it's somewhere in the thread..
There were 2 mods that were included with both bars.. One with blue bars(tenths) and one with out.. I will get screenshots so I can upload those when I get a chance..
I will get screenshots and upload the other 7 mods that were in the package before also..

Since today's patch, none of my icons under maintained spells are showing up.

Dunno if anybody else is having this prob or if it is just me, but I have not touched anything in my UI folder since logging on yesterday when they were working fine.

Delete eq2ui_mainhud_effects.xml and eq2ui_mainhud_maintained.xml from your tablets folder (It will use default).. I will look at it all when I get a chance..

Also i guess they made some changes to AC so in my persona/inventory screen the ac is incorrectly showing that i have 10000 AC.... I think this is b/c eq made it so there are 2 different AC values now. Just a heads up b/c those are going to have to be fixed.

From patch notes:
- Instead of displaying a single value to express your character's defensive capabilities, your Persona window now separates AC into Avoidance and Mitigation.
- Avoidance represents your chance to avoid physical attacks. Mousing over the Avoidance value on your Persona window will show your overall chance to avoid attacks, and will indicate the value of your various avoidance-based skills and your shield if you have one equipped.
- Mitigation indicates how well your armor will absorb incoming physical damage. Mousing over the Mitigation value on your Persona window will show your overall absorption percentage against attacks at your level. Examining a piece of armor will show its relative mitigation value based on level, quality, and type of armor.
- Shields now display a Shield Factor to represent their relative usefulness.
- Both Mitigation and Avoidance percentages are based on defending yourself against an average opponent of your level. You will tend to mitigate and avoid better against weaker opponents and worse against stronger ones.

I missed the values too, so i made a few changes to the corrsponding files, since I really like the UI.

I patched away the lower part of the frame-stats, since I usually have windows overriding that particular area. I had to increase the size of it, so maybe it won't fit on a 1024 screen. But it works for me.

I would like to say that I've been using Tablets since EverQuest 1 and that you've been doing an excellent job keeping up with all the changes and patches.

Currently I only have one issue. I like to have two chat windows open (one for chat, the other for damage). After logging out, only the main chat window is saved. Every time I log in I need to recreate my second window. Any ideas on how this can be remedied? Thank you.

Update : If you switch to the default UI, create the second window, then switch back to tablets the new window is saved. No idea why this works but at least it's a work around. :)

Greetings - thanks for the great UI - the work you've done shows, I do have one small (hopefully) request -

I've been tinkering with the chat window a bit but cant seem to get the result I'm after - not sure if this is an easy thing or not, but I'd like the chat window to retain its horizontal width when minimized, so that it appears to "roll up" vertically only, leaving the horizontal width alone - can this be done ?

Hi there... Love this UI.. but am having one small problem since the last major patch... unable to type anything in the market window to search for specific items... not sure if this is related to the patch or not, but was not having trouble before the patch....

Any insight into how to fix this would be appreciated.

While you're fixing things, Talyns, eq2ui_inventory_market.xml is missing an allowcloseontop="true".

First off, great Ui, i really love it. I play in 1900x1200 and this looks really amazing.

2 small questions/bugs though? The bags in the inventory only shows up to 20 slots, what if you have (like me) some bags with 24 and 30 slots? Cant semm to get those last slots to show?

Another thing is i like the hotbars slim with no labels (full size though). Everytime i logg in they are back again, any way to save it when logging?

Broker Window
 
This is by far the best UI I have used to date. Thanks for taking the time to put this together.

I am having one issue that I just can't see to fix. In the Broker window I am unable to type in the Item Name or Store Owner boxes. Therefore I am unable to use the broker window. Am I doing something wrong?

I have tried to fix it but no luck.

Don't listen to Almazak. He's a gnome that wears hemp robes and stays willingly in a guest house on Michael Jackson's Neverland Ranch.

He has also, on occasion, been spotted chasing cats and barking like a dog after drinking cough syrup and popping antihistamines.

He drives a Volkswagen mini bus with fake wood paneling and a whip CB radio antenna that pushes the envelope of aerodynamics as well as freeway height restrictions. To class it up, he's applied various bumper stickers from the same people who brought you "Horn broken, watch for finger!"

If you see him running around in EQ2, you can rest assured there's a train not far behind.

If he's complimenting you on your UI, he is probably going to ask you for money soon. You have been warned!

I uploaded beta 8.. Things I remember doing:

I skinned a bunch more windows

the 4 windows in EQ2UI_PlayerHousing.xml

Guild
Added a Guild Experience window to open it type /show_window MainHUD.GuildExp

Skinned the default journal for tablets will release a side by side mod (like dogvomits) in time

Reskinned all the examine windows to make sure I didn't forget any recent additions

I removed the level/class from the player window..
I added (Implied) Level/Class to the Experience window..
I will upload the old player window as a mod when I get a chance to make a screenshot.. (Can use the from beta 7b for now)

I reskinned the bags from scratch.. I left out the switchable layouts feature.. I will release different layouts as mods in time..

I added the allowcloseontop to the merchant window.. But it still doen't close with esc if the cursor is in the Item Name edit field.

There's 1 slight problem in beta 8 that I would be thrilled to see fixed or be told how to add it myself. In the unskinned default UI when you create items there's a checkbox to make it suppress the popups for the future creation of items, there's also this same checkbox on the merchant sell window so you can set certain objects to be non sellable (so blunder heads like me dont sell their backpacks :))

Please Talyns, can we get a quick fix for this?: ) :nana:



Oh and one other question, are there any plans in the future for skinning the tradeskill window?

Hmm.. That stuff should be in there..
I'm sure I tested the don't sell check box before uploading.. I didn't test the other one but I skinned the examine windows from scratch so it should be there.. I will check out what's up when I get a chance..

I plan on skinning all windows that are visible "ingame".. The trade skill window is huge.. Like 4 or 5 windows in one.. I've been dreading doing that one..
It's one of the few remaining windows I have left to do so it will be "soon"..

Just one problem so far, I don't actually seem to be able to receive mail with your skinned version of eq2ui_mainhud_mail.xml.

Edit: On opening the window, double-click on a mail does not work. If, however, you go to the Send tab and focus on one of the input boxes, switching back to the Inbox tab then allows you to open incoming mail. Hope this helps.

Still loving this UI. :) Is there anyway to make chat windows remeber which state you wnt them in? (no scroll, chat only, etc) They reset at login now.

Great UI but I have a small problem.

With default or other UIs I have a maintained effects window (shows debuffs on mobs too). I think that is what the window is called, anyway. On your UI, nothing. ALT-M doesn't bring anything up at all.

Couple of other observations:

1) On the friends list, you cannot read what you are inputting to add a friend. Highlighting it works though so I'd guess it's black text on a black background.

2) There's no autodrop area on you inventory window, as far as I can see. This is new on the default skin and would be very useful on yours.

I noticed that the mini guild xp window has the guild name, but my character's lvl...is it possible to get the guild's lvl there instead? my lvl is already taunting me from various other places in the UI.

Ellyana: Sorry no.. But you can download one of the mods to change the default layout of all the chat windows..

DennicC13: Maybe they were pulled off the screen some how.. only thing I can think of to fix that is delete your servername_charname_uisettings.ini file in the main eq2 folder

didn't notice it posted but did you make changes to the pet window? I know they redid the commands some so you skinned box no longer works, I had to go back to default. But other then that, nothing big stands out. Thanks!

WOW I love this Mod !! :nana:
Since this is the bug report area here is what I have found.
Pet window:
1. The pets health % doesnt change when pet gets hit
2. The transparency of windows do not stay after logging
3. Locking windows dont work ( They become unlocked after logging)
4. Chat windows not saving correctly (No scroll No imput ect)


Love the UI and will continue to use it. Keep up the great work.

As far as I know, the chat windows won't save. This is because Talyns uses a template that reassigns windows positions (within the chat window). The only way, as far as I know, to get something to save on exit, would be to pump stuff through the titlebar and frames page. Rather difficult to explain, but the chat windows are not, er, "coded" to save like that.

I'm not sure if it's on my end or something funky with the UI, but when using the broker, when i do a sort and hit "find", it closes my broker window. Now, i CAN use it from my market board with no issues :eek:

any ideas?

Mine does the same thing if I'm not close enough to the broker. You need to be close enough to get the dialog from the broker even though you can open the window from further away.
