One question though - is there a way for the clock to show in-game time rather than real time as default?

Only with editing my clock file. I may design a new clock today... :)

First i want to say. Thanks for a really great UI. :D

I Have a little problem with all skill infos. When i have the mouse over a skill i just see the icon and some dots. No text at all.

What is the problem? I'm using res 1024x768 and the 1024x768 hotbar.

make sure you read the install instructions, specifically the one about starting with an empty folder. that will fix your problem

This is a side-effect of not removing previous version - you MUST delete any previous Profit UI.

custom maps
 

I appear to be having a problem with the custom maps not installing, I reran the updater and made sure the Ui directory was set to the rigth folder but still no customs maps is there a way to fix this or did i do something wrong?

I would not think this is a problem with the UI. I too have problems updating at work - where I use the default UI.

I will say again, as much as I like the work tht has been done by Taco, Laffs, and Zonx. Your UI fits to what I have been looking for in an UI. Don't let stupid people get to you, as any modder knows...if feels as you jumped into a sauna at first; but really is the North Atlantic. Don't give up, it seems there are many to help you bare the seas. *Looks at his boots* Damn I really am turning into a swashbuckler.

Hi there and thanks again...

I've got a couple small problems...I did remove the Profit folder inside the UI folder. I presume that was all the removal needed before installing 1.7c

However, upon loading, I have 2 (sword, ring, ring, etc, manastone bar)s ... one is in its correct place, and the other is floating with the same window settings as the bottom one...the floating one is next to the Maintained spells display window.

2nd, The red msg Your Inventory is yada yada yada is always on, on my screen. Its also sized incorrectly I think since I cannot read the entire text, just Your Inventory is....

How do I fix these?

All I can suggest is deleting folder, installing 1.7c and use one of the uisetting files.

Great UI profit - I have made it work at 1920x1200 (24" widescreen resolution)

I will be posting a ini for that later however.....

Steps to making Profit UI work at a higher resolution.

Download EQ2maps
Install

Boot up EQ, set resolution to 1280x1024 (regardless if it looks funny or stretches)

Download 1.7c
Copy directory over
Extract 1280x1024 resolution.ini zip
copy resolution.ini over to whateverserver_charactername_ etc etc

Boot EQ and make sure Profit UI working
Change resolution to whatever size you normally have (ie 1680x1024, 1440xwhatever, 1920x1600)
Resize windows

Viola

Awesome Profit. 1.7c is the bomb. Everything working and where I want it. EQ2 and DoF are 100% better with this UI.

Holy smokes bro, your UI is by far the best that I have ever seen. still trying to get the xp font not to clip the very left portion off, but that is small issue that I am most likely not setting up correctly. Will read through the post here and hopefully figure it out.

1.7c is working like a charm after a clean install, but the clock isn't anywhere to be found. Any idea how I can get it back up?

I have just spent 4 hours and 2 complete remove / re-install trying to solve this sudden game crash problem. Profit how do you cope when you have idiots like me using your UI?

Post DoF / combat revamp I should have realised that I would need to at least check these forums for some mention of LU X compatability. I am a spanner.

I think I may take 2 mins of my time to install 1.7 - thank you still for saving me so much space / giving 5 hot key bars...... I'll post questions about the tradeskill window when I have an IQ of more that 35

Hey Profit.

I'm no newb when it comes to UIs, and I can usually figure out myself what the problem is with a UI. However, this one has got me stumped...

Today I tried that "master ui file" thing I heard about yesterday, and that works great. I go through setting up the whole UI, and everything works fine. However, when I go to change the chat options, it just crashes.

It freezes up, and I can't even get an error out of it. It's like it's reading the file for the chat options for a long time. I haven't actually had it play out for more than a few minutes because I figure it just didn't like it.

I can add tabs, and I can do all that stuff, but once I try to change the chat options, it just freezes.

Not sure what is causing this, and I can't get an error from it, so I can't help you out there. I have some other mods, but they're the same as last night and my game was running flawlessly last night. It's a very strange error that I can't seem to put my finger on; mostly because you guys don't modify the chat options window. In the meantime, I'm gonna try a different chat window. If you have anything you want me to try for you, let me know and I'll give it a shot.

UPDATE: I just tried it with a different chat bar, and it still didn't work. It's probably not your UI. I'll see if I can do it with the default and get it to work, and then work from there. You can disregard this post.

I have a problem with my implied target area all the text is shifted to the right and not centered in the box. I have done a fresh install of "c" release.
any ideas?

I think my uisetting file has this window shifted to the right - just unlock it and move it!

I installed Profit on Beta and realized the 17 releases (a/b/c) don't have the eq2.ini file in them like it used to. No loss for me, I know what to do. Just thought I'd let you know for the next version, may want to pop that back in the zip.

Uhh 17c does have it....

but it doesn't have the manastone.txt
and the horse.txt is for the wrong inventory slot had to fix this on my own :c)
horse slot should be 18 not 19

how do you mean? the compass is built into the blue frame!

I have two Problems.

1)
Menu-Button is only backround on screen, behind bottom bar. So I cannt get my game-options or shoot-down of game.
After 17c install it was ok, but I put this button away and again back. After this action is it always in backround.

2)
I cannt get a clock. I try alt+c but nothing happens.

Thought I'd hold off any requests for alterations until I'd used the thing for a few weeks, to make sure that I didnt post rubbish.

Im sure that a lot of people that use your UI are Provisioners, when cooking lots of food I like to use the progress buffs quite a bit to speed things along. Because your progress / durability bars are so short it is difficult to tell how much durability you have left before you drop a quality tier. I like to keep a close eye on this so as to not push my look too much (makes making top quality goods easier and still quick)

Is there any way that you could strech all 4 progress bars and the durability bar for the top tier right the way across the tradeskill window? Even just the 4th durability bar would be a massive help. You could stack them one on top of the other and have the other 3 durability bars and the 4 pictures placed either above or below. I dont think anyone cares much about the other 3 durability bars much, but that top tier one is really too important to be shortened so much.

Ive said it before - Ill say it again, thank you for the awesome UI. It makes me dance like this banana :nana:

1) Lock the background window... then move the menu buttion on top of it then lock it... then if u ever click on hte background it now will not change teh zlayer and make your menu buttion get stuck behind the window

2) Menu->Options->Controls->Window Keys->Clock Window [ <empty> ] *click to set key combination*

Hey Profit... I am not having htis bug but a guildie is... he installs your UI (the correct way after talk to me on the phone about it for 20min hehe) and he gets in game he then targets the broker in the TradeSkill instance in baubleshire and poof everything dissapears or goes blank according to him... he has a clean install of 1.7c this first started happening lastnight when we were grouped all of a sudden he lost control of his hotkey bars they wouldn't let him click them then it progressed into clicking on a npc to talk to them and not being able to click on responses and getting some weird lagg issues... now to this... He has tryed running the default ui and seems to not have any issues i donno if this is perticularly related to your ui but its the only ui he has tryed so far i know he loves the ui but he cant figure out why its doing what its doing and sad to say i'm kinda baffeled my self if you cant figure it out hopfully dolby or someone swings by this post and can put words to post and try and figure this out

I do know that I have had "hidden/invisible" windows that may appear if something doesn't turn right in the UI. This could be the problem. However, I doubt it because if it's only the UI that was affected, I would like to know if he uses his mouse to look around or if when he was having the issues he wasn't using his mouse to look. Because, if he doesn't use his mouse, he could have had a big box over the UI that was causing the problems.

However, if this is not the problem, then the only thing that I can think of is related to a lag issue. Do you know if his computer is relatively old? Is this his first UI? Maybe his computer isn't fast enough to use UIs and only the default will work because of the extra resources it may use to draw the colors and windows out. I don't know. I'm just putting out my thoughts and hoping maybe it will help someone out sooner or later.

I added that line but the harvest window still wont come up :(

Hopefully you can add it back in when you get the tier 6 stuff added.

Also any chance you can integrate the Milquist(sp) help mods?

Would be nice to have the quest info from both Profit and ThorUI all in one.

If i remember correctly he is using a 64bit amd system its not his comp thats laggy i know he has some ISP issues but i highly doubt that would casue it figuring he was complaing of npc lag issues with it and none with out it

Profit, is there any chance you could add the new "smart location" functionality the default effects window has now to your effects window? In case you haven't checked it out, the buffs in the window reposition based on the quarter of the screen (upper left, lower right etc.) the window is in, for better viewability. If the window's at the bottom, the buffs all slide down to the bottom of the window, and so on.

Also I was wondering if could create a loot window that enabled you to accept all by hitting enter, just like escape is decline all.

So, has anyone been able to get 1440x900 going properly? Mine is useable, but I get an extra stray chat window, and the bottom information bar is gone. I would appreciate it if someone could provide a file if they got theirs to work right.

Dunno if anyone else has this problem but after zoning out of the arena in Maj'Dul there is a new window created with the Manastone/Rings etc on it, a duplicate of the one already on screen, but just floating in the middle of the screen and I'm not sure how you get rid of it, or if it creates another after zoning out a second time, didnt get time to try it again.
