Think u going to need to tab out chat window... especially since there is only one in the 1024 reso. I'd say at least 3 tabs one for spam stuff one for chat stuff and one for combat stuff.

Here's an example of the chat bubble problem.
I'm not sure which is supposed to be in front, the chat bubble or the UI windows.

Really the chat is supose to be under all windows. But the way the inventory works it has to be forces to be on bttom or when its expanded it will block access to the effects bar.

I would say 95% of the people turn chat bubbles off so only a select few will see this eye-sore.

FYI: You can unlock the clock ( the round thing just under the compass) and drag it down and to the right a tad to place it in that empty spot thats just above the raid label.

I will try to get a screenshot of the effects bar problem (1 too many on the first row).

Its a known issue and can not be fixed. Untill SOE puts them in a container or makes them not follow icon0/buff0

I have spend many hours trying to defeat SOE's effects window. Basicly it works like this. You can set icon0 any where you want and the other 29 will fall in line untill one reached the edge of the window, then that will wrap and start again just under icon0. Unlike the hot keys and maint window witch have their icons contained in a container. Maybe SOE will change the fromat in the expantion. Lets keep our fingers crossed.

Ok slight problem with the map interface. I think it just might be me though. I had the EQ2map pack in the team projects downloaded when i loaded in the ui. This sometimes bugs out the mapping sytem and blacks the entire thing out. I tried unninstalling the eq2map pack but no luck.

Although the map seems to work in zones like Ant and all the cities. The rest of the zones i used to have maps for (eg. the down below) all have a map tab and even waypoints i can click to waypoint to, but the map is totally black. Any ideas?

Just run eq2map updater and DO NOT OVERWRITE EQ2_MAINHUD_MAP.XML If you do not get a confirmation asking you if you want to overwrite this file then it did and you need to replace it with the one from the extreme zip file you download here. The missing maps is because of size limitations on complete sets. We can't fit all the maps and everything else in our package and keep size under 6mb so u need to run the map updater.

I just downloaded Extreme UI and got it all set up using the Perd Dark Gray.dds i was wondering if there is a way i can make my text boxes solid black? Looking forward to using this UI and thats my only issue i have.

open up eq2_mainhud_mainchat.xml in notepad and go to edit then find.
Do a find for #00142B and replace with #000000 there will be two instances to replace. This will change the color. Then do a find for 0.600 and replace with 1.000 this will set the window opacity. There will be two of these to replace as well. Save then make a copy of it and save it in a different spot so u can overwrite future updates with it.

copy eq2ui_mainhud_hotkeys.xml form the default ui into extreme be sure to over write the file in extreme.

Yes I took that out getting the ui ready for LU13. After LU13 there will be no more setting of patrons, everyone will be a paytron.

I used extremeUI and its cool, but i noticed a few things. The bottom chat bar is covered by the health/pp window, the group health window and the cast time window. The top window has a time of day clock on top of it and it covers up the quest helper. THe group window also covers up 2 of my hotbars... (and i have tried moving the windows that sre in the way and nothing will budge :( )

If thereis any ways to fix any of this, or if the UI doesnt have the problems on a different rez solution or something pls tell me so i can use it (it looks really great, thanks for the hard work on making it :) )

This ui is great,can you work on the harvesting info window would like it to be resizable as it is smooshed info is overlapping and some text is cut off on the bottom,plus there is no X to close the window or am I missing a key short cut?

Looks like you are running the game in 1024x768 I don't think there is an ini for that resolution in the 1.12.6 version but landiin is working on it. Will probably be in 1.12.7 Until he finishes up with it you will have to move them to where you want by unlocking all windows in options (Alt-0) / User interface / Game Windows / Unlock all windows / Unlock then click accept and you can move the windows wherever you like. Well I tried reading the messages on your image but the font is so thin the colors you chose to put chat in boxes is bleeding through making the text unreadable. At least to me. If someone else can read please decipher.
As for the health bar %'s never seen that before. Then again I usually solo maybe Landiin can look at this one.

If you get an item with a click to use effect on it you will use the mini inventory. I beleave that may be coming the next expantions if not you can bet your money its coming. I also use it to equip items after I use my unequip all( get nude) macro.

The health % has always been there just invisible. I was doing test to try to get them to work but EQ2 just refused to send the data. ( I just forgot to turn them off before I ziped up the update)

As I told you in your PM yes its possible to make them bigger with mouse over. Its just a matter of time and importance ( as in bug fixes ).

I havn't crashed to to memory access in a while at 1G or 512M( set on extreme prof ). Maybe turn off spell effects to free up some resources if you are still crashing to that error.

Why would I want to run in extreme quality when I can run the in HQ w/out your UI... Its a UI issue not ram.. Not a super big deal to me I switch out UI after first crash on raids so

/shrug just seems like your the only one having this issue now.. I didn't say run in EQ any way, I just said maybe turn off spell effcts in raid. A lot in my guild use this ui too and we raid 6+ times a nite and no one tells me they are crashing. heidrickla run HQ at 1900 x xxxx and he don't crash. So it make me beleave its not a ui issue if only one person is having it.

If more are having this issue please speak up, PM what ever just let me know so I can keep searching.. I can not make my system crash even with 512k ram ( I lag like a mug though ).

I find this to be the Best UI out there atm i like the idea of adding in a guildlogo on examined items and in loading screens, i just cant figure out how to make my own, its in a format i cant use *.dds plz i havnt done any modding yet sides a few adjustments to other peoples UI's here and there, i would like to know how to make a guildlogo.dds file of my own, then insert into the relevant *.xml files,

By 512M do you mean 512mb? Because that is exactly what I have, and I am crashing ALL the time, in fact I just crashed, and decided to check the forums before I logged back in. But I will just be standing there and I crash, I even run with graphics at very close to minimum, spell effects, shaders, and shdows off, no sound, low particle effects, etc.... I play most of the day since I am a stay at home mom, and I will crash at LEAST 4 times in 1 day.

Yes thats what I mean 512mb. And this is exacly what I need to know. If it still crashes after an update post so I know its still happening. Was beginning to think bakes had nuked him self. I'll keep digging,

Things that may help me track this down:

1. When you crash is the game buffering? ( a good sign that it is, is the hard drive is running like mad and you are video lagging )

2. Where there a lot of PC, NPC around when you crashed.

3. Video card, Ram amount, and CPU you have. ( PM me with nomber 3 if you don't want to post it on the open forum )

4. What you have for lunch. I know this has nothing to do with the UI but I am a bit hungry atm lol

Actually I run at 1920x1440 in extreme quality yes thats quality not performance. Only reason you might crash with this ui and not another one is because this one might require more resources to load because of the additional graphics. Easy fix for this would be to just increase your pagefile. Normally it should be 768Mb for 512Mb of ram but since you are crashing alot set it to 1536 minimum and maximum size. Right click my computer icon / properties / advanced / Performance settings / Advanced tab / Virtual Memory Change / Initial size set to 1536 Maximum Size set to 1536 then click Set button. Click Ok Ok Ok Ok Restart and then you should be good. (Note I use this computer as TeamSpeak server for guild, run UI Builder, Frontpage, have webpages open, microsoft outlook, web and ftp server, and everquest running and never crash.)

Another thing you might want to do is update your drivers to latest version and make sure to run a full file scan. Sometimes when EQ crashes it can corrupt a couple files which later cause other crashes. Defraging your hard drive and pagefile can help as well. Defraging hard drive is simple to defrag your pagefile with standard windows tools it's a bit more complicated but not too hard. Just set the page file to no page file then reboot. When it comes up set it back to the the 1536 size.

If after all of the above is done and you are still crashing it could be caused by improperly paired ram. Assuming you are using 2 256Mb sticks, and everything else is up to date IE drivers and such. Run Prime2004 before you go to bed it is a burn in program used to test system stability. This program is particulary usefull if your computer is overclocked. Or plan on overclocking can be used to test maximum stable overclock. This program is based off of the widely popular Prime95 and uses much of the same sourcecode but with a better user interface.

I am very interested in learning how to use the mp3 player. I have searched the thread and only thing that comes up is my post a few pages back back asking about it. How does one use this? :confused:

Ever since I started messing aroung with my screen res to get the one that works for me and the game, I have noticed a black edgle around (lol what would you call it, ill go with desktop) around my desktop, its not a border lol dont get me wrong, say for example the task bar, you have the start button to the left of then screen, between my screen and the moniter itself there is about 1 inch of black unused space, before the start button. same on right side, but not as bad on the top and bottom. Sorta like the whole thing is centered, and theres all that blank unused space. This is been extremely distracting, does anyone know how to fix this? Ok, i just changed my screen resolution all the way down to 800*600 and the blank black space is gone, so I am guessing it has something to do with my screen res. lol. I would keep it like this, but I have gotten used to bigger resolutions, and this one makes everything HUGEI mean, really HUGE My mouse pointer is literally the size of a dime (I just measured it) lol any advice?

Adjust screen width and height on your monitor. There should be controls that allow you to easily do this on your monitor should look kind of like <-> and vertical but same symbol. You might have to move your screen horizontal or vertical as well to get it to line up properly. The icon to move it should look like 2 boxes each one slightly offset from eachother.

A couple weeks ago, I downloaded the eXtreme notes assembler. I read the read me file that came with it, and did exactly what it said to. Once I was done, I loaded EQ2, everything was totally screwed up. Chat boxes where black, and I was unable to type, perfomance panal was black, spell effects was black. I was unable to do anything. I figured I just messed it up, so I deleted. Last night I decided to give it another shot. Once again I followed the instructions that came with it. Most of it wasnt black this time, but the performance panal was missing several buttons, and the window that shows spell progress/breath was black. I got angry and went to bed. This morning I deleted it, but servers are down, so I cant see if its all better yet. Is this happening to everyone? or does it just not like me?

Another thing, I was messing around due to sheer boredem last night, and I downloaded that dds pulgin, I opened guildlogo.dds and I edited it, saved it. When I loaded EQ2 my guild logo was there, but it said Guild Logo behind it lol, any clue where I went wrong?

Sounds like you are forgetting an include in one of the main xml's for notes as for the logo you left the existing rgb layer there. If u just cant get it I can do you up one when I have some spare time. Here's a sample of what I can do in about 5 minutes.
