Faetyl, know your kind of busy on LU13 and DOF stuff any chance in the future for a stats bar ( Fetish style , ie press P ) and a Profit clicky for manastione, rings etc. Kudos to those guys for coming up with them

I plan to start many more enhancements very soon.

Main things keeping me from doing so currently are DoF updates and ensuring I can get updates to everyone quickly. (This is a good time to note Sony has changed a lot within Beta recently and as with EQ2 beta they may go right back to a previous version. With that said it's hard to judge what is going to happen. But as always I will work my tail off to ensure updates are performed quickly.)

Yes, thanks to the excellent programming skills and dedication of time, Mr Nice has an AutoUpdater in the works for us.
He tells me that beta should be available this Monday, that's right 2005-09-05.

group window problems
 

hey, great UI!!!


The only problem I am having is that i cannot change the group window to be vertically aligned instead of horizontal. It does not give me any sizing arrows when i go to the edges.

Have you unlocked the window placement (i.e. right-click in window>>Window Settings>>Unlock Window)?

I also know there are various types of group windows that you can choose from in the installer. Two, of which (if memory serves correctly), are vertical windows (top-to-bottom fill and vice versa).

The vertical group member option is actually a completely different package/option during install.
You will want to run the ThorUI installer and choose the groupmember window package that you want while ensuring that you deselect/uncheck any other options. for example uncheck horizontal and check the vertical package.

I appologize for the long list in the installer but we all like options ;)

Hey, just downloaded your custom UI here (new player), and so far it looks just awesome. Fantastic job, sir.

However, I'm having a problem that I can't seem to squash reading all the help/suggestions in the OP - when I install ThorUI then load the game, the UI windows in-game (instead of being at the locations in your screenshots) are just all over the place, scattered all over the screen. I tried unlocking all the windows (I thought maybe it tried to move some but couldn't since some were locked) then un-installed and re-installed ThorUI, but it didn't change the window placements. I double-checked again to make sure that the window placements option for my resolution (1024 x 768) was checked during the install process.

Any help would be appreciated, as the layout in the screenshots (on the download page there) looks quite nice.

I'm sorry, having it there as an item during install only means that it will copy my master file for you. You still need to manually make a copy of it then rename to your servername_charactername.
I'm not good enough at programing yet to make this automatic yet but hope to had this feature eventually. Until then, if you installed the UISwitcher you may use that application to copy my master file settings to your already existing character file.
More detailed info on using the UISwitcher may be found by following the link to that page. (Provided on the main post in this forum)

Great work on the UI. I am absolutely LOVING it. One problem though. My EQ2 button. When I press it I only get 2 options. Inventory and Persona. I am not sure if this is intentional or if something is wrong. I like the way you have hotkeys for different settings (High Performance-High Quality), but there are a few things I like to fine tune, and I'm not sure how to get to them. Is there another key command to bring up those other buttons or is my EQ2 button working as intended?

Your EQ II button is not functioning properly.
The UI is only a mask or cover if you will to Sony's already existing commands.
I have not edited the actual function of the EQ2 button in any way.

Recommended Trouble Shooting steps would be:
Uninstall then delete the ThorUI folder.
Login and see if the issue still persists. (Hopefully not)
Logout and ReInstall the ThorUI.
Launch the EQ2Map Program.
Login and see if the issue still persists. (Hopefully not)

Let me know what the results are.
Also, a screenshot would be great.

Thanks for the prompt reply. I uninstalled and reinstalled and it works now flawlessly. Really not sure what happened. Maybe a mishap with my .cfg file for my character.

Hot tabs chat config do not work right
 

I'm really enjoying this mod. its just right for me. However Ive notice that everytime I make a new tab and configure that text chat , I can't use the same text chat option in different windows. If I try to use group chat in tab 2 it will not work in tab 1, or vice versa. Is this a bug or is there somthing I'm not doing right. Please help

To the best of my knowledge that's just the way chat works in EQ2.
You could try without using my UI to confirm for sure though.

If I am right and it is the way the game works, i would recommend doing an in game /feedback explaining your preferences.
It's amazing how many items they address that way. :)

Having trouble moving the crafting windows, they are not locked in the option tab but i still cannot move the window. Am a total noob or is my brain just fried from a long day of .........well everything.

I'm assuming by 'the option tab' you are referring to the game's general Options window (keyboard shortcut = Alt + O), correct? If so, try right clicking in the crafting window and choose Window Settings. Odds are, you will probably see the Lock Window box checked. Uncheck and save, then try moving it.

But...how the hell do i define the video-presets?
I've searched like mad but didn't find any help...

ThorUI\#Custom Video Presets\readme.txt should have all the info you need.

Go in game and setup your video exactly how you want it for preset 1
Be sure to click accept in the options window
ALT+TaB out and run "Custom Preset Configuration" from All Programs>ThorUI
The rest is self explanitory
Rinse and repeat as they say for preset 2 and 3

If you have trouble the readme.txt file has more detailed info from the original author.

FYI: I have these setup for you already so that preset 1 is extreme performance and tweaked so that you can see resources, mobs, and shineys real far away...
preset 2 is the same but at balanced
preset 3 is max everything...

hi im having a problem with the grpmembers window, the persentages for health and power wont change they are ither allways 100%.

i think changing the dynamic data script to /GameData.Group.Group_1.CurrentHealth might fix it i havent had time to test. but that seems to be how all the other persentages are setup. could some one try it if they have the problem as well? or is this just me?

They're setup correctly :)

Question On Post Revamp UI
 

This is most likely obvious to everyone, but I'm trying to clarify the timing on this. On Sept 13, I can simply delete my ThorUI folder to uninstall, and then reinstall the latest version posted on the site in order to update the UI for DoF and Live Update #13?

And on another note, outstanding UI, I was very skeptical and cautious about making changes to the UI but this mod has converted me! Thanks for the great interface. :)

I'm not releasing a full update for the DoF release.
I will however be posting fixes in the hotfix section ASAP.

So don't uninstall at DoF launch.
Just go to the hotfix section and download any fixes to windows that you use overwriting your current ones in the ThorUI folder.

I won't be releasing a new version as we are hard at work with the ThorUI AutoUpdater version. Once we go live with this you won't need to bother with visiting for updates and hotfixes. All options will be available within the updater and will also update automatically. We would all rather be playing with a cool UI rather than having to check for updates all the time wouldn't we? :)

Ok, ive searched through a few pages of posts and cant seem to find my answer, I seem to lose my options window after i install ThorUI, It's there its just completely Faded out, if i mmove the mouse around it still picks up certain settings, meaning its still there i just cant see it. This happens to a few other windows aswell, but i can still right click the others and change the windows settings and bring back the background so i can see it again, With the options window, i cannot.


Any help would be appreciated.

EDIT: it would also seem that my Maintained Spells bar goes missing aswell.

Backup your server_character_eq2_uisettings.ini file then delete the original.
Login and see if the issues you had earlier are still there.
Note: You can use my window setup by renaming the ThorUI_yourdisplaysetting_eq2_uisettings.ini to your server_yourcharactername

Just a guess but this sounds like it may be left over from a previous mod you may have tried.

If that doesn't work, delete the ThorUI folder and reinstall.

Sound issue

Love the UI. Makes it seem.... Nice.

BUT... Everytime I log in my combat music and background music are always on. I cant seem to get it fixed. :nana: But other then that no issues at all. Tanks!

Ah the infamous sound at max issue :p
The issue is with the sliders, and can be resolved by switching to my "button style" Start Button
Check the Hotfix section for a link to it :)

One question, though: I made the Hunter of Elementals title yesterday and there isn't the drop down box to select titles. Where is it in this UI?

Problems with Test server
 

Been using your UI now for about two months and have no problems whatsoever with it on Live servers, really love your work.

Started a Test today to check out how LU13 might look once it goes Live. Seems to have a conflict with the ThorUI though. The only problem I've experienced so far is that it will not show my character's name, race, level, HP, or Power at the top left(default location for group/personal info). Mousing over it will show some of the info however. Also, on the three experience bars it will not show my level, xp towards next level, vitality, basically everything except the bars that fill up as you gain xp. Once again a mouse-over will show you the info.

I saw you have some hot-fixes for Test/Beta/DoF at the top of this page but I'm not sure which if any I need to use nor what exactly I'm supposed to do with them to use them, sorry I have practically no programming knowledge.

I understand and deeply appologize for everyone having to manually download these. Robert and I are working hard at preparing the fancy new Auto Updater that will resolve any future issues like this. :nana: cheer cheer for Robert/MrNice!

Issue after LU13
 

This is on Live on my main character. Currently I can not access my Persona window(haven't tried my Inventory so that might have same effect). The game tells me my UI needs to be upgraded(like telling a blind man he can't see any more...), however, I have already downloaded the DoF patch and saved it to Sony/Everquest II/UI/ThorUI. Any suggestions?

Guessing I did something wrong I went in and tried to download it again, this time using the Run tab instead of Save and simply following instructions seems to have fixed my Persona issue. Any reason I should be worried about duplicate files or anything since I did this?

As you found out, the patch is an executable that will extract the files for you.
Best prctice is to run from it's current location unless you want a backup for some reason.

No reason to worry about duplicate entries.
My patcher overwrites the files that require the patch only therefore leaving all other files alone.
So you could run the patcher 50 times if you wanted and you couldn't hurt anything. ;)
