It's an issue with the persona (character) window. SOE changed the mercenary pane around again, and the old code no longer works. Drumstix will probably be releasing an updated version soon. You should be able to replace your merc by actually going to them and hiring them through their dialog, that's unaffected by the merc pane issue.

Decided to go ahead and install the latest version of Java as well. Kind of glad that you hadn't pushed out any new updates to the files yet. Made it much easier to re-ignore the files I needed to because those were all the ones it said I needed to update. :)

Anyway, new updater seem to be working fine. Thanks to all those that worked on it!

Drumstix42 01-26-2014 06:20 PM

Major DrumsUI release. I've updated the version to 2.0

New and updated Main Menu window which handles all the in-game settings and text editing. No more extra "popup" window when editing. All windows that had their own popup settings are now include in the Main Menu instead. Their Settings button will auto open to the correct page (Group, Raid, Player, Effects, Spell Timer, etc).

Spell Timer supports up to 30 spells tracked per character now. Code has been updated to be much more efficient and can support a higher number if requested.

All new Casting Macros feature:
Casting macros are accessed via the Main Menu settings. These options let you trigger commands/macros when an ability is used. One of the bonuses to this feature is avoiding macro "spam" when under control effects, and only triggering a macro when a spell actually casts. Up to 50 Casting Macros can be currently saved in-game, per character.

A few updates supporting recent patch changes (merc window, channeler).

I'll be updating my DrumsUI website page to reflect the new Updater and link back to the EQ2interface.com download link.

Please report bugs, issues, feedback!

Update Log:
2014.01.26

Mysstie 01-27-2014 01:20 AM

The "EQ2" button in the stat bar has the same tooltip for the "UI" button. They both say DrumsUI Main Menu or whatever it is for "UI". No biggie but I noticed it.

I am going to guess that the \DrumsUI\DrumsUI\ folder can be deleted as it seems \DrumsUI\DrumsUI_Custom\ folder is used now?

Also, I notice that your eq2map_ignorelist.xml contains no items, but your UI still updates eq2ui_popup_add_poi.xml which EQ2Maps also updates. Just wondering which one needs to be used if using EQ2MAP's Icons vs Your Icons.

Thanks for the updates!

Drumstix42 01-27-2014 04:18 AM

1. Thanks

2. Correct, the DrumsUI subfolder can be deleted. I decided to make the folder DrumsUI_custom to be less confusing when talking about the "DrumsUI" folder.

3. The reason I'm patching eq2ui_popup_add_poi.xml is because I wanted to make sure my old version got flushed out. It's actual a copy of the DefaultUI file. You can safely use the EQ2map version, or none at all. This was just my best route to achieve maximum compatibility (the old file seemed to cause issues).

The reason I'm patching an ignorelist file with no content, is becaue the Variant for the Drums Icons has content inside. If you decide to Uninstall that Variant, a new file needs to overwrite it. Hence the file with no content.

Also, I should have stated it above, but remember to repatch EQ2maps after using my Updater. Especially after choosing variants.

When I try to run the file, I get an error message: The requested URL /drumsui.jnlp was not found on this server.

Apache/2.4.6 (Ubuntu) Server at updater.pala.de Port 80

Am I doing something wrong?

Are you using the latest Updater?
Could you have a firewall blocking the application by chance?
Try running the Updater as Admin.

elowith 01-27-2014 04:15 PM

It appears that the updater is not using the java web browser type interface now? Is that correct? Are there new/improved instructions?

Persona Window

I just wanted to say I like the change to the persona window. The fly out menu was nice but adding the small tabs on the left is just perfect. Thanks for all the work you put into your UI. :D

Drumstix42 01-30-2014 10:37 PM

Character swapping bug fixes (hopefully).

Update Log:
2014.01.26
- Fix[MultipleWindows]: Switching characters should now reliably load new data/settings/options.

Geobaldi 01-31-2014 11:12 AM

Thanks for all your effort with the new UI.

I have found a bug of sorts. When I do a /camp character name, the UI will continue to use the previous characters config files for spell timers, drumui settings, etc.

I've even had this happen when I just camp to character select as well. Only when I fully exit EQ2 and restart EQ2 with the new character will the correct DrumUI config settings work.

DuneWarrior 01-31-2014 12:12 PM

Hi drums :)

Any way - once the current issues are settled of course - that you can add a user defined tooltip to the Group/Raid window buttons?

So i could see 'Penance' instead of 'useabilityonplayer ...<yada>' when i cursor over the buttons ?

Have you done today's update and tested again? It's working great for me with today's update.

none33pl 02-04-2014 01:39 PM

What about non-updater version of this UI? When we gonna get update there?

I'm asking because not everybody wants to use updater for security reasons - to make it short it use Java :)

Kaldran 02-04-2014 03:45 PM

Just jumping in quickly to note that there are no security concerns with Java applications themselves, just with the browser plugins. They are usually restricted and do not allow system access. However due to several bugs you can inject malicious code which is not restricted by this sandbox anymore.

Local installed java applications do have system access anyways (up to the users current rights level), so if they want to manipulate your system, they can do that like any other application can do.

Actually it would be way harder to infect your system with a Java application, as there is no easy way to elevate user rights (showing the UAC prompt for admin access) from within the Java VM.

As soon as I fix any left over bugs and the Persona window, and have the free time to upload, etc.

New updater

Hey I really like the new updater, seems better than the last incarnate. Only issues I have is it always wants to update my ignore list, but the one it updates to is empty, which means that eq2maps overwrites the POIpop up one(not sure the exact one i wasn't paying that much attention. Second issue is my player window (health, power, click to cure) doesn't stay where I put it and it always collapses when I swap. It did that along time ago, but was fixed pretty quickly, and was wondering if you got a chance you could look at it please.

Thanks again for such an awesome UI

The Add POI window is patch by me just to phase out my old version. It's actually just a copy of the default file. This was to resolve any possible conflicts. You can safely let Eq2maps patch it now, and Ignore it on my Updater.

The IgnoreList is empty now because I'm no longer patching custom POI icons by default (the're now a Variant in the updater). Because the Variant includes the IgnoreList file, I need to patch "something" by default should somone uninstall that Variant.

Drums, you haven't acknowledged this bug in any posts that talk about it, is this something you're looking to get fixed soon?

Drumstix42 02-10-2014 06:40 PM

Yeah for some reason the Player window is being strange. and the CureFinder isn't functioning 100% for raids (even thought I didn't change any code :D )

I'll fix as soon as I can.

tntent 02-12-2014 04:34 PM

having an issue with my detriments window, where i get one of your placeholder icons that is there all the time. Should i gut all drums and reinstall?

okay logged into wifes account on her toon on different computer no icon in det window. Logged into my account on the same computer (her computer not mine) and the icon is back on my coercer. It appears to only be on my coercer as my necro doesnt present with that icon. Any advice?

I think it's like a SOE/database bug or something. I've seen it happen. Not sure the best way to clear it. Trying dying or getting another det on you :o

Geobaldi 02-13-2014 11:00 AM

Only time I see this happen is when I'm using the new craftable 5% pot or cb temp adornment on my weapon. I'm thinking the debuff might be the fact that the weapon can now only be used in primary hand.

DuneWarrior 02-13-2014 11:15 AM

Was messing with my group buttons and for some reason i cant get the following to work now
Code:

tellchannel EffingHealers Ressing SELECTED, stop being dead
This shows "Ressing 0, stop being dead"
(If i do it on myself, shows 1 if i do it on the first member of my group etc.)

or the other version
Code:

tellchannel EffingHealers "Ressing SELECTED, stop being dead"
This shows "Ressing SELECTED, stop being dead"

Am i missing something?

Edit: Should probably mention i havent updated yet at all since new updater, due to the weirdness that was spelltimers etc.

Drumstix42 02-13-2014 07:22 PM

can't have a character right next to the variable SELECTED either remove it or put a space.

DuneWarrior 02-14-2014 04:26 AM

Here is a copy/paste from game along with the result

Code:

useabilityonplayer SELECTED "Conversion of the Soul"
tellchannel EffingHealer Ressing SELECTED - No sleeping on the job
tellchannel EffingHealer "Ressing SELECTED - No sleeping on the job"
Tellchannel EffingHealer "Ressing SELECTED "

Code:

Ressing 0 No sleeping on the job
Ressing SELECTED - No sleeping on the job
Ressing SELECTED

#1 is really interesting since ... the dash goes away too. Anyway thats how it behaves as of right now

Drumstix42 02-14-2014 06:35 PM

tellchannel EffingHealer "Ressing" SELECTED "- No sleeping on the job"

Or:
tellchannel EffingHealer Ressing SELECTED "- No sleeping on the job"

I've just been absolutely exhausted after work, and all this snow has been making it worse up here in the North East.

Drumstix42 02-22-2014 06:11 PM

Looking for some testing for the below changes. Thanks!

Update Log:
2014.02.22
- Fix [Player]: Window layout should now load properly when logging in/swapping characters.
- Fix [CureFinder]: Settings should load correctly now. Raid curing possible fix. Needs testing.
- Fix [Persona]: Changed datasource to make tabs compatible with Beastlord/Channeler. Also needs public testing..

Kotaro 02-23-2014 03:43 PM

Installed newest persona window and it's still incorrectly lined up on my channeler. :(

Drumstix42 02-23-2014 04:07 PM

Okay thanks, I wanted to try something simple as I only had a few extra minutes to spare yesterday. Today I'll try to get a better fix on the Updater. Stay tuned...

Drumstix42 02-23-2014 06:50 PM

Should be fixed now.

Update Log:
2014.02.23
- Fix [Persona]: Tabs should now be fully compatible with Beastlord/Channeler.

Kotaro 02-24-2014 03:04 AM

Looks to be fixed! Thank you :)

I see. So another 15 days passed. Any real chances for release before Easter?
Lot's of people are waiting for that, just because that Java sucks.

I can imagine how hard it can be to work, play HC and also make UI, but we are counting on you.

Please read the patch notes or load the patcher before posting. I updated almost a week ago. If you're talking about the Manual updates, I've been releasing updates on the Updater to have them tested on live. If you can't be bothered to install that way, I don't know what to tell ya.

Enjoy your easter :|

mageice3 03-02-2014 12:38 PM

I know you removed the sort bags option but is it possible to have a variant where the bag button on the character sheet is the /sort_bags name a it was a feature I used a lot and I really don't need the show bags button on there...

Also thanks for the amazing UI it makes playing EQ2 a lot more enjoyable because any information I need is easy to find!

Voraga on AB

Drumstix42 03-02-2014 01:07 PM

You should still be able to use the slash command to sort your bags.

I will add the button back, but it's going to be in a way where you get a confirmation first, such as "Are you suuuuuuuuuuure you want to sort your bags?"

Followed by "No seriously, are you sure you're ready to sort your bags?"
