I am pretty sure there is a box selectable in the OPTIONS menu of the game (EQII button) that says something along the line of "Lock all UI Windows", perhaps in the User Interface section of Options(not in game to check now myself)

Jaxel, I have been using your UI for a few weeks now and enjoy the interface but have one issue with it (not even sure if it is your UI or the game doing this).

What is happening is: Whenever someone invites me to group, if I do not select an option on popup it automatically groups me with the inviter after about 5 seconds. Sometimes this is convenient as it saves me a click but other times, a pain... if I am AFK or if someone sends a ninja-invite that I dont desire to join, it can create an unwanted hassle for me and those inviting me while I am away from my computer or simply not interested in grouping for whatever reason.

Is the above issue something caused by coding in your UI or is it now a default act on the part of client-side coding at SOE's end?

If it is in your coding, any chance of getting a workaround posted so this does not happen and it forces me to select yes or no rather than automatically deciding I want to join if I dont decline in under 5 seconds? Thanks.

Thats an option in the game, not quite sure where it's at, but you need to uncheck auto accept group invites.

Default key is also enter when invited it a group.

I just wanted to say that I totally love your UI! :) Everything is working perfectly except one thing. For some reason I keep crashing, the screen will lock up randomly (harvest, running, etc. It however always happens when I try to edit a hotkey -such as an inc message key etc) and go to a black screen, then go back to game, still be locked up, and keep alternating until I get a message box popping up that says:
VPU Recover has reset. Graphics accelerrator no longer responding to graphics driver commands -ATI.

It will tell me that I need to restart the computer, which I do, it seems fine for awhile, then happens again.

Any clue what this might be? We just a re-install of windows/EQ2 etc a couple days ago, (all drivers are updated as well etc.) and have not been having this issue with default UI until this UI.
My husband says it sounds like the UI is sending some script to the game that it cannot find?

I'm not an expert by any means, but your error is from ATI, the Graphics card. I know some people have had problems with their ATI cards before, and not sure if there is any solution. Sounds to me like you're using your hardware accelerator, and the game/video card/drivers aren't liking it.

My best bet would be to go to the official EQ2 Support Forums and see if your graphics card is on the list of "troublesome cards." I know there is a list somewhere (unless they took it down) of some cards and possible solutions.

I had the same problem with a 9600series video card. You must try to find an old driver, some 6 months or so, IIRC. This solved the problem for me.

Thank you for the replies. pcb98, you were correct on the driver issue, redownloaded an older version last nite and have yet to have any problems. :)

(I was having another issue last nite ((figured out what it was though)) came here, started searching through this thread again, on one of the middle pages -page 6 or so, I came upon someone who had the same graphic drivers issues, and someone replied with a solution. Dunno how I missed it, Boy do I feel dumb now :( Anyways, thanks again!)

How to use video presets?
 

Being a bit unhappy with the way things looked with the EQ2 preset video settings at different levels, I took advantage of notations made at http://eq2vault.ign.com/View.php?vie...ct_id=9&id=208 to alter my settings manually and I really like the outcome.

I was hoping for a nice way to backup those settings and thought that OCD might allow me such with it's start button 'preset video' buttons... but I can't figure out how to use them. Can somebody tell me what these are for in OCD and how to use them?

Ok, I had the same question and I finallly figured it out. I haven't tested this so I will update with more information if it doesn't work. There is a program included with Goldi's http://www.eq2interface.com/download...php?s=&id=3655 so I downloaded it to get it. Instructions are in the readme explaining how to use it. You can configure the settings and then run the program to parse out a custom video file. I am assuming replacing one of the existing custom xml files will change this and get what we want.

dont use that file in Goldi's download...

instead, go into...
C:\Program Files\Sony\EverQuest II\eq2_recent.ini

copy all that into the correct place in one of your preferred preset files. If you use goldi's files, it will **** with a bit of the design and it wont work correctly.

I am having the same problem...No compass shows up, but everything else is okay.
Can anyone explain what I'm doing wrong, or is something missing?

Yah, the program didn't work. I tried changing the format back but it still doesn't work.

The existing file has every option listed twice. The eq2_recent.ini has lines that are not in the xml, and there are lines in the xml that are not in the ini.

hey is there a file anywhere that can be copied over so I have your layout? seem to be having some trouble moving everything around with my old layout.

I am just using the melee-start button, and I love it. But I have 2 problems.

One is that I cant get the volume turned off when I log on, this drives my crazy and my family as well, hehe.

The second is the ammo-slot.
Whenever I log on or zone the ammoslot goes back to some mysterious "default" place. (Witch happens to be just in the place where I have my hotkeybar.) It stays there until i have pressed any buttons on the startbutton twice. Generally I open and close my bags. Then it pops into position again.

Does anyone have the same probelm? Can anyone please help me?

my ammo button usually does that when i first start up..mousing over where its supposed to go for me makes it move back to its home and it usually stays there.

Not real sure what would be causing it to go crazy like that.

New Manastone start button
 

First off, thanks for putting this together! It's gonna be very helpful.

I've got an issue with the green/red border on the manastone. When I use my manastone the border changes from green to red as is should but does not reset back to green, at all. Been logged in for 30 mins now and it's still red.

Suggestsions?

Unfortunately, this happens all the time to everyone ... if you use the compass window from this UI it also does exactly the same thing ... easuest fix is to simply mouse over the spot it SHOULD be at on your screen and it will instantly pop to that spot and stay until next you zone or log or change from Fullscreen to windowed modes.

NEW FEATURES IN THE START BUTTON

First of all, the biggest and most easily recognizable feature... MANASTONE SUPPORT! Pushing the green squared button will immediately turn the button red and start a 1 minute timer. One minute later, the button will become green again telling you 1 minute has passed. You must note, that it actually takes 61 seconds to cast the manastone, but you can only set the timer for 60 seconds; if you push the button as soon as it turns green, it will tell you that the manastone is not ready. But, if you wait a second and push the button again, the manastone will cast and the 1 minute timer will restart. I must point out that everytime you push the manastone button, whether it is red or green, it will restart the 1 minute timer. If you install this mod and the timer is not working (its rare, but it happens to some people), do the following:

Options > Alarms > Session Duration:

• Hours: 0
• Minutes: 1
• Repeat: OFF

then click "restart, that will fix it.

The second thing people will notice is the UNEQUIP ALL button. Often, if you are raiding and you know you will die, the leader of the raid will /yell the mob. If this happens, you can click the unequip all button and all your armor will immediately be unequipped! This helps save on repair costs (especially if you are in full fabled). Unfortunately there is no button to automatically re-equip all your armor. Too bad. This feature alone is a reason why everyone should have this startbutton. If mob is not /yelled, then the button will unequip 1 item at a time, each time you press it.

Also included is complex shader support! Much of the visual lag in the game is due to the high graphics setting of characters and surroundings. Lowering the complex shader distance will effect how fast complex graphics will get shadow support. So this bar is a quick method to changing the quality setting of your screen without having to push the video quality settings and having that 5-10 second screen lag. There are also buttons for your the other activatable slot, a Fishbone Earring and two Imbued Ruby Rings. I kept the ranged ammor slot counter in, but now it is smaller. This mod supports all classes, melee or caster alike.

I love the start button in addition to many of your other mods. One problem, I cannot move it. I can move the button but it just snaps back to where the rest of the window is. Any ideas? Thanks!

I was using Goldi's startbutton and decided to switch to this one (I think I'll like it better). Problem is, I can't get it to display. I unzipped everything, but it only displays the default startbutton now. I originally unzipped everything except the mainhud.xml file (because I'm running Fetish's complete UI plus a few other windows I've altered myself). Then I tried just making a copy of it and unzipping everything again...still just the default startbutton.

Anyone have any idea what I did wrong?

Note: Must be broken since it's now unavailable for download all the sudden. Back to Goldi's I guess.

Works for me so it isn't broken. However, I still cna't move it.

I'm using the start button and everything is working fine except for that only my first page of notes is displaying, i am not getting the tabs for any of the other pages.
