You should install the program by its default path ex "c:\program files\EQ2MAP Updater".
Run the updater, it will detect your profit install and add eq2map to it.

New computer, new install of EQ2, works fine no problem. New install of Profit reborn UI (won't play the game without it), works fine no problem. New install of EQ2maps (another MUST have) not sure if its installed right due to confusing install instructions.

I want to install a working copy of EQ2maps so I can then add POI finder.

Here is the simple question. Where do I install EQ2maps? This is kind of what I want to know, c/program files/sony/everequest2, or is it c/program files/sony/everequest2/ui/profitreborn ?

It seems that in my attempt to install it, the program is EVERYWHERE but where it needs to be.

So is there a simple answer?

I use the updater daily and most of the maps are present but there still seems to be a number of places where there is no map or it seems to be incorrect (like some of the Splitpaw area for example). I'm just wondering if these maps are available and I just don't have them for some reason or if nobody has them and they are just missing for everyone.

Any info is appreciated and thanks for the great mod!

Make sure the path to EQ2 is right in options, the most common problem when this happends is that the user has 2 installations of the game.

everytime I try to run the autoupdate a message that "Failed to download database. Error downloading file: Database. The operation has timed out"

I'm running Vista Ultimate 64 and have .Net 3.5. The updater opens and downloads fine, but in game I don't see any changes to my map. Is there something simple that I'm missing here?

Try to download all the files again , there is a button for this in Options.

When I am Lesser Faydark the map does not show up, it is an all white background with all the little POI dots on it. I have only been to lowbie areas but they all seem to work. I did not see if that map downloaded but it downloaded a whole bunch of stuff...around 380 files or something, I don't remember exactly. I guess maybe I need to make them download again or something. I will try that tonight, is there something else I should do?

i have it downloaded with the updates and everything i was told to in instructions but it still doesnt work? i it maybe cause im on vista or if not plz help me

No you don't need to uninstall it first.

Try to clear the cache from the options menu.

How many map files is it downloading?

i recently update from 1.0.14 to 1.0.16, and i have a problem with the database not downloading every time i run the program. it fails, yet it still downloads maps every time i run it. i just dont get it. should i have uninstalled it first, THEN installed the new version?
