A SOLUTION HAS BEEN FOUND THAT SHOULD WORK FOR EVERBODY

*MINOR CHANGE AS OF LU14.1*
Image file is included now, make sure you have it in. The slight underlap in the screenshot now looks a TON better.

Bug Fixes:
/con button is now fixed!
Startbutton no longer snaps to inventory window.
You can no longer accidentally unequip your manastone.
It is now easier to drag the startbutton!

-----
First of all, the biggest and most easily recognizable feature... MANASTONE SUPPORT! Pushing the green squared button will immediately turn the button red and start a 1 minute timer. One minute later, the button will become green again telling you 1 minute has passed. You must note, that it actually takes 61 seconds to cast the manastone, but you can only set the timer for 60 seconds; if you push the button as soon as it turns green, it will tell you that the manastone is not ready. But, if you wait a second and push the button again, the manastone will cast and the 1 minute timer will restart. I must point out that everytime you push the manastone button, whether it is red or green, it will restart the 1 minute timer. If you install this mod and the timer is not working (its rare, but it happens to some people), do the following:

Options > Alarms > Session Duration:
  • Hours: 0
  • Minutes: 1
  • Repeat: OFF
then click "restart, that will fix it.

The second thing people will notice is the UNEQUIP ALL button. Often, if you are raiding and you know you will die, the leader of the raid will /yell the mob. If this happens, you can click the unequip all button and all your armor will immediately be unequipped! This helps save on repair costs (especially if you are in full fabled). Unfortunately there is no button to automatically re-equip all your armor. Too bad. This feature alone is a reason why everyone should have this startbutton. If mob is not /yelled, then the button will unequip 1 item at a time, each time you press it.

Also included is complex shader support! Much of the visual lag in the game is due to the high graphics setting of characters and surroundings. Lowering the complex shader distance will effect how fast complex graphics will get shadow support. So this bar is a quick method to changing the quality setting of your screen without having to push the video quality settings and having that 5-10 second screen lag. There are also buttons for your the other activatable slot, a Fishbone Earring and two Imbued Ruby Rings. I kept the ranged ammor slot counter in, but now it is smaller. This mod supports all classes, melee or caster alike.
-----

This is my version of Goldi's Start Button. There are harvesting menus, the note pad (with included note builder configured for my OCD skin style), as well as a built in ammo slot into the start menu using a some freaky method that Quib came up with a while ago. Pressing the arrow on the start button will hide and unhide the volume and video controls...

This mod has all the features that Goldi's StartButton mod has:
> Follow Button for quick /follow
> Bags Button for quick /togglebags
> Hood Button for quick /showhood
> Illusion Button for quick /hide_illusions
> Kosmos NightVision Button
> Stop Eating/Drinking Buttons for easy /stopeat and /stopdrink
> Harvesting Information Window
> Notepad with built in Note Assembler
> Kosmos Video Performance Panel with Video Compiler
Click here to check out Goldi's StartButton Mod.

In addition to Goldi's features, I have added in a more active volume control panel and an ammo display for melee characters. In the future, I will make a caster version available for this mod.

He is brilliant, and it works perfectly. I unloaded the other, but I was not able to make it work of any of the ways, was impossible. The only thing that exchange of this one button, serious to be able to clear the square of anmo, that I am Necro and to my she is not worth me for anything.

Good work!

Pd. Sorry, my English is very bad, hehehe

I think what you are trying to say... The Ammo slot shows you your ammo, but you cannot actually click on the item in the ammo slot and swap from there; you must swap ammo from your inventory. This is a problem with the hard-coded programming of EQ2. The ammo slot is actually its own window, not part of the StartButton window, and because you are clicking on the start button, the Ammo window is actually BEHIND the StartButton window. You cant click through it...

Great Mod

Great job on this one bud. I love the ability to hide all the settings with that arrow.
The only thing I would change is the ability to remove the ammo slot from it. I am a healer and can't use any weapons that require ammo so that button never gets used.
Other than that it is my new favorite mod.
Thanks.

I'm sorry, I don't quite understand what you are trying to say here...

As for the Ammo slot for casters, I can make it so clicking on the Ammo slot will toggle it between something else and the Ammo slot, this way both casters and melee could use it. So I would like to know what you guys would want placed there instead of Ammo. There MUST be something there, as it is placed there based on the size and placement of the other buttons and sliders.

Well actually I can't think of anything that I use or keep track of that I would want placed in that type of location. I would love to have it just shrunk by the size of that ammo icon and the other buttons and sliders scaled down to fit.
Again bud. I think this is a great mod in all other respects.

Okay, I uploaded a patch that removes the Ammo slot, currently awaiting approval from the server.

Very nice Jax!

I like what you did to the buttons! Would you mind if i hijack your volume controls for my next version? hehe

BTW, i will add your Startbutton as an optional in my next full UI too!

You have a very nice eye for design

First off just wanted to say I love your UI's! Oh my gosh, they are so much cripser than than SOE's... Can't wait for you to release a full UI.

But in the mean time. I just had a question. I was just noticing that the eq2ui_mainhud.xml file has:
<include>eq2ui_mainhud_startbutton.xml</include>

listed twice. Is this intentional or just a typo? I'm trying to learn enough XML to update the few peices I still use from another UI. So I'm not all sure what if anything happens doing things like that. Haven't had any issues with it though. Sorry if I'm being picky don't mean to be

Thanks again for the mods!

I could not figure out why the UI Builder does this either. There are actually two pages in the startbutton.xml. The StartButton and the Ammo window; two pages in one page. Because of this, everytime I save from the UI Builder, it adds the line twice. Why? I have no idea. Does it do anything? No. Does it hurt? No.

Great Work, best start button ever.
Can you make a Button for Shadow on/off?
and maybe a Inventory button insted of showhood.

Video and Volume Controls

Hello,

I love this startbutton. Great work, Jaxel. I do have a couple of questions about it, though.

Is there any way to hide the Video and Volume Controls on startup? Right now, every time I log in, the V&V controls are expanded and it pushes the startbutton up from where I would like to have it.

Also, not sure if this is related to your startbutton or some other issue, but everytime I log in, my combat and music volumes are reset to .250 and .500 respectively. Is there any way I can get it to remember my settings or edit the .xml file to make it default to my preferred volumes?

Thanks in advance,

Re: Video and Volume Controls

This mod is very cool, but I am having an issue.

As soon as I create a custom UI set, the button that corresponds with that set in-game dissappears. So when I installed it all 3 were fine. I quit, and used the utility to create set 1, and when I re-entered the game the button for set 1 is gone. Like some art is missing for buttons that match with defined sets. I tried again, by defining set 2, and when I re-entered that was gone.

Any help?
