Very interested in using this awesome complete UI!
Edit: I fixed it! I downloaded it to my desktop and placed it in the directory UI folder originally. To fix this, I uninstalled and downloaded it into my created UI folder within directory UI folder, ran program as admin, and made it default so I wouldn't have to load it each time with /loadui in game.

Any help?

I updated my Darqui to latest version 2.5.1.3. Same thing happened, I have Default active. /loadui shows that DarqUI is the default UI. Switching to Def and back to DarqUI does not help, that only makes some windows disappear.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Default UI

I have tested several new installs and upgrades of 2.5.1.3 in multiple languages and I cannot crash the UI. If I can get you to zip and send your UI files to darqwood at hotmail dot com. I don't need the themes, just the 40 or so xml files from the custom folder. You can replace your character names with XXXX if you like. This is the only way I can figure out what's giving you trouble. Thanks.

Having the same problem as others and I've been using DarqUI for years. I had to reinstall EQ2 and now am experiencing this problem.

Go to your game folder and delete the following two files, then restart the game. Please post back with your results.

eq2ui_mainhud_impliedtarget.xml
eq2ui_mainhud_target.xml

eq2ui_mainhud_impliedtarget.xml
eq2ui_mainhud_target.xml
That let it load.

EDIT: To get the 2 files to load i needed to take out the CR,LF out at the offset indicated. Seems like it does not like the page tag going to another line unless it is enclosed in quotes.

I'm having issues with the Spellcast Monitor.

I have it listening and it's recording in it's list the timing of a certain spell from a mob, yet the progress bar always counts down from 60s even though the recast may only be 30s

Is there any way to get it to ignore certain spells or certain toons in your group as clicking X next to a spell only clears it until it's cast again

It doesn't seem to be pulling casting times from the database, they are all 60s..

Any help or a fuller tutorial on this feature would be great.

If you have not added a spell to the preset list, it's always going to start out at 60 seconds. You can turn that off, but then you won't be collecting recasts. You can change it on the fly by changing the number in the blue box on the timer overlay, but that only lasts as long as the spell is in the slot.

The idea of taking an average of the recast intervals and changing the estimate automatically is a good one in theory, but it has proven to be more trouble than you might think. Just one example: If you switch to a different mob during an encounter and miss a recast, the calculation gets messed up until you restart the encounter. Another example: mobs will often get a doublecast, so that adds another layer of complexity.

The best practice would be to add the spell and the recast estimate to your presets. This also allows you to make sure certain spells get into the slots you want ahead of time. Use the presets dropdown list at the bottom of the monitor to preload them.

I like your idea of a spell ignore list, although I can see some players' lists getting pretty long, especially if you could just add spells with a click during combat. It's just one more list of things to manage. The help file for an upcoming version of the UI is at the link below. Much of it you already know, but there may be some useful bits.

I see what you mean. It would be useful to be able to click on one of the samples and set that for the progressbar countdown. Better still, have a checkbox that after say 10 samples will take an average of the most likely values. At least that way the user can toggle it on and off when they know an average won't work for that particular encounter.

Is it supposed to save recast details between encounters?

Recast histories are kept as long as the spell stays in the monitor slot, so you can wipe or move on to other mobs that cast the same spell without having to start over. These are some good ideas to make it easier to work with spell data while playing. There is a major change coming to DarqUI that will make things like this more possible for me to do. If I can get that behind me, the spell monitor presets are definitely on the list of things to look at.

I cannot seem to get DarqUI to load at all. I was previously using DrumsUI and EQ2Maps and they worked fine.

However, after installing DarqUI, when i use the /loadui option the game crashes every time. I've also tried just loading one file and leaving the rest as default, but the game still crashes when using /loadui.

I checked the eq2in file and it says DarqUI is the default UI, but not sure why it isn't loading it.

Can we make the group leader's name colour customisable or at least stand out more?
