I don't use ThorUI, basically the mod I first ever started out on was EQ2Map, and then as I learned more about this site and mods in general, I just added different mod pieces from there as I decided to try different things, so everything's under UI/EQ2Map for me. Having said that, I had no eq2ui_mainhud.xml file either, never had one before and never seemed to need it. Your instructions regarding that confused me frankly because of this, and when I did a file search, the only location was in the UI/Default folder....and when edited and applied the change you describe, the game patcher I suppose recognized the file was different whether because of the timestamp on it or otherwise, so it just downloaded another one and overwrote the change I made. Then I decided to try copying and pasting the eq2ui_mainhud.xml file from UI/Default to my UI/EQ2Map folder since there wasn't one previously, and then edited and added in the line as you describe, saved it and launched the game, and it works just fine now.

So long story short, probably what this guy (and anyone else) needs to do is copy that file first as-is to whatever is their personal UI/_______ folder, and then edit and add the line you detail above and save it. And assuming that would work for anyone, it would probably help if you clarified this in the installation instructions as well, as it will avoid any question or confusion for anyone else who finds themselves in the same boat I was in. Hope this helps!

Edit: Noticed after I posted that I'm not the only one that's run into this (see Metha's post below), so it may well be a recurring theme.

Yes - I use this with ThorUI and it works great. Install ThorUI, Install Eq2Maps (then I install Infocenter), then do the unzip into the thorui directory which will place two files into the root of thorui and the rest in the subfolders. And, just rename the sample mainhud file to be the actual mainhud and you're good to go.

As has been pointed out, there are 2 options available to you:

1. Copy & Paste the eq2ui_mainhud.xml file from the default folder into your custom folder then edit accordingly.

2. rename the example xml file included to eq2ui_mainhud.xml

I updated the installation instructions with option #2. Since I may not keep the example file up to date with the default one, that's probably the better one.

Version 1.1 has a small bug that I'm waiting to see if it can be ironed out. But either way I'll probably release it by mid week.

Thank you for the update.

One small issue that I've noticed is that the window is no longer resizable width wise.

Other than that, any possibility of adding the ability to have the window open with the map? I had ESC to close my map window forever so the new change of ESC to close both is nice but one step further and it would be perfect.

I understand that you might not be able to come up with the solution yourself but maybe you could add it to the list of future possibilities?

Thanks for the update. Btw, this works nicely with the current version of Profit Reborn.

As the button text has a fixed width, there is no point making the window wider.

Except that many of the links for several zones are longer than the width of the window so in order to see the entire link it would be nice to be able to make the window wider like we could before.

If you look at the screenshot above you will notice that there is a nice gap between the links and the right edge of the window. This is how I had it set up before. Now, there is no gap for several of the links and many of the links are cut off. If I had a choice I would prefer to be able to see the entire link for every link in each zone.

It is fairly easily for me to widen the window a bit or shrink the maximum length of all the links. I prefer to keep things on the slender side so not much screen is blocked. I agree that for whatever length I decide to set the link text, the window should be wide enough to show them completely. But I also don't see the need to give it a flexible width since the tooltip feature allows you to see everything regardless of width. I'll tweak the widths to keep the shortened versions fully visible the next time I do a versioned release.

I like having the Finder window not appear the first time the EQ2map is opened. But I agree it would be best if it could then "remember" whether it was up or not when the EQ2map was last opened and re-open with it or not accordingly. Again, that falls under the "I'd like to, IF I knew how" category.

Thank you for the response. Truth be told the mod is perfect just by getting updates. Any advancement you make in features is a bonus so I'm happy with how it is. I was just pointing out the small things just in case you wanted any and all feedback.

Thanks again for the hard work and effort that you are putting into this project. It's highly appreciated.

Not sure if you can really help on this one or not but I may have to make a tough choice. Seems the POI Finder is no longer working like it previously had with the Fetish Map Mod. This mod allows you to view any map from any zone via a drop down menu. With v1.00 I was able to change the displayed map and the POI Finder would update accordingly. With v1.10 the POI Finder is no longer doing this but rather keeps the links for the POIs from the actual zone that I'm in. The POIs on the map still change to those for the map being displayed but the POI Finder no longer recognizes them.

Obviously, I'm hoping that it's just a small tweak in the code that could be performed, even if only on my end. However, if it's not that easy to revert back to then is there a way to get the POI updates without having to update the mod main version as well? Meaning, could I stick with v1.00 and still get the benefit of the POI updates as they are released?

Any insight would be highly appreciated. Thank you kindly.

Jnils recently sent me a tweak that has the ESC key just close the POI Finder window instead of both windows. I'll include it next time I release an update. But it might also help with your problem Flor. Or atleast make it so you only have to reopen the POI window like Jnils says.

To add it, edit your eq2ui_mainhud_poifinder.xml file and change the start of the second line so that instead of this:

<Page eq2usescomwndcontrol="true" eq2usescomwndcontrols="true" Location="85,127" MaximumSize="300,16384"...

it has this:

<Page allowcloseontop="true" eq2usescomwndcontrol="true" eq2usescomwndcontrols="true" Location="85,127" ONShow="Parent.Map.TM_Plugins.TM_Plugin7.OnChangeMapPanel.Activated=true" MaximumSize="300,16384"

Thanks for the reply. I'll try this edit on Saturday and let you know how it goes. Thanks again.

Doing as suggested worked for the most part. It doesn't automatically refresh the links in the POI Finder but closing & opening the window works so at least the base functionality is back.

I really appreciate the help with this issue. It would have been difficult to give up either the map mod or the updated POI Finder. I'm just glad that I don't need to make that decision.

BTW, with the changes I'm able to close the window with ESC or the M key, which is good because that is the way my Map window is setup.

I also noticed that if the POI Finder is closed along with the Map window (at the same time) then hitting M will open both, instead of just opening the map. Was this a recent change or was I just not noticing it before? Either way, it's a great thing.

Thanks again.
