I've read that the devs are planning on adding the new /pet melee and /pet ranged commands to the pet window but that's no reason to suffer until then!
This interface includes two different versions:
1. The normal pet window with /pet melee and /pet ranged buttons.
2. The same window with an Attack + Protect Us button.
The Attack + Protect Us button is useful for tank pet pulling. The problem happens when you send the pet to attack and then back off. The back off command turns off the two protect buttons. Then after your tank pet gets back to you it isn't protecting itself or you. This button is a macro to work around this problem. So, after your tank gets back to you, just press the Attack + Protect Us button to send your tank back into the fight and turn both protections on. The general code is taken from

For the technically interested the macro used is:
: ; pet backoff ; pet preserve_master ; pet preserve_self ; pet attack

I wasn't thinking I would need to change anything but I got some good ideas in the
forums .
The buttons now feel more like the other pet buttons. They get smaller when you press them and the /pet melee and /pet ranged buttons toggle down and pulse when active.
The only problem left is that the game client has no way of knowing what mode your pet starts in, melee mode or ranged mode, so when the pet window first appears both buttons are off.
