Category: Chat windowScrolless, Hideable Input, Tabbed Chat |
Soon after my version 2.0 release, (1 day after) tabbed chat was introduced. This new version now allows tabbs with all the features of version 2.
I am thinking of renaming this to 'super chat'.
Known problems:
When showing the title bar on a tab-less window, the text and scroll bars extend into the title bar area.
The checkboxes don't save their states between program loads.
The shape and size of the chat areas reset between program loads
The scroll bar placement and visibility reset between program loads.
These bugs are generally visual, and annoying bugs that don't affect the functionality of the chat window. I hope to be able to fix them all as soon as possible.
I would love it if someone could figure out how to get checkboxes to save their state between game runs.

no way known to save check box states in between game sessions. the client saves what SOE programmed the game to save in each window. That primarily means only the window settings (size, position, opacity, frame/title, etc) are saved in the ini file, but anything we add that wasn't there orignally the client has no idea how to deal with (between sessions) so that info is just lost when you log out. Who knows if they'll add a method to save some of this info, but from everything I've read, and tried, this is just not possible.

I love this mod, but have only one issue with it...
After I set the 5 chat windows that way I like it, I'm happy and get a warm fuzzy feeling inside. Then i'm done playing, log out, then log back in later to find that the chat windows dont save there individual settings and that fuzzy feeling goes away ...
Is is possible to fix the mod so that it remembers how the window was set so I can get the warm fuzziness back?
Thanks,
Trip

Dunno how I missed this file,
Sounds and looks real kool..... Are you working on an update to it?
Just a thought would be good if some of you guys could get your ideas together to make this work, as the options window realy should have been somthing that soe included in the first place for the chat window I would say...

Didn't see a 'released' thread for this post and you asked for comments in hte PS. so here goes.
While I like this chat window mod, it causes the text to wrap as if the windows were default width each time EQ2 is loaded. This is fixable by changing the window settings to "Frame and Titlebar," back to "None" and then scrolling each of the windows all the way down but doing that 3+ times each session gets to be annoying. Is there any way to fix this?

I am sorry for the delay, I have been working quite extensivly for the last week, and haven't been able to play or mod.
I have yet to check out this mod, but from the comment I believe it uses the same solution I was thinking about. Instead of resizing the chat area, move part of it outside the window so it looks like it is resized.
I am also working on a special 'configure' button idea, so I can make a chat window that allows the players to change a bunch of settings with some check boxes.
Turn on/off scroll bar. Turn on/off chat. Left/Right side scroll bar.
I will try to get it all done before the end of the weekend.

I have noticed some bugs with it.
The resizing text area seems to cause problems zoning, and sometimes results in text being outside of the window. I don't know why yet, but for now my only solution is to remove the resizing ability of the chat.
Please tell me if you are having any problems.
Thanks

Very nice mod =) But could you also re-activate the scroll-bar? I'm looking desperately for such a mod

Love it just one problem. I can't make the window small enough vertically. On the previous chat window mods I was able to shrink the window size to pretty short but now it is too tall, even at it smallest setting.
Any chance of making this mod shrinkable to the original window sizes?
Thanks!
