Browser
An optional full version of the DarqUI Browser window can be downloaded from the utility. It features a re-skinned, tabbed interface with several convenience features including a customizable "Favorite Sites" start page, search function and URL history. It also has a special ACT Mode optimized for displaying ACT combat output on screen. The default lite version of the DarqUI browser has preset and custom Favorite Sites like the full version, but only one browser tab and a reduced feature set. If you are having trouble with the full browser crashing your game session, the lite version will significantly reduce the load on your system.
With the full tabbed version, when you visit various URLs on the browser tabs they remain loaded even after you close the browser window. This allows you to "minimize" the window when you close it so you can come back later to continue surfing. Each tab opens its own instance of the browser when it is loaded with a URL. If you want to close out all browser instances completely from the game and from the Windows task list, click Clear all tabs and close from the tools menu (gear icon).
Search providerThe address box at the top of the browser doubles as a search box. If you type in search terms and then click the magnifying glass icon, your search provider will be invoked to display the results of your search. Choose a preset provider string, or use your own. The search terms you type in to the address bar will be appended to the end of the search URL in all cases.
Favorites barUsing the Favorites bar will remove the tabs on the browser interface (full version). All browsing will be done in Tab 1 only.
Session historySession history can be accessed from the clock icon in the address bar. Visited sites are collected in history only for the current character session, and only in memory. DarqUI does not save session history to disk. There is a choice on the Tools menu (gear icon) if you want to clear the history during a game session.
Favorite Sites
This start page will appear when you open the browser if you do not configure a home page on the Tools menu. There are two display panels for Favorite Sites: preset and custom. On the start page, click Show custom favorites to switch panels. You can set up the custom quick link boxes to load frequently visited sites.
Custom quick linksThere are two ways to save a website URL on a custom quick link box in game. You can click an empty box and save the URL and a shortcut name. The other way is much easier: Surf to the desired location and then click an empty slot on the custom favorites dropdown menu (star icon). Using the dropdown menu will insert the currently loaded URL into the slot automatically, so you won't have to type it manually. You still need to supply a shortcut name, which will appear on the menu and in the custom quick link box.
To get to the custom favorites dropdown menu, click the star icon at the top of the browser, then click the blue Custom favorites... menu choice. The favorites menu will switch to the group that corresponds to your custom favorites browser panel.
ACT Mode
If you use ACT (Advanced Combat Tracker) to parse combat, you can take advantage of the DarqUI Browser to display the live data in a streamlined viewer on screen instead of switching between windows. Choose ACT Mode from the Tools menu to convert the browser window into a compact ACT viewer.
The ACT program must be configured for HTML output (in the ACT window: Options tab >> Output Display >> HTML File Generation) and the DarqUI browser must know this location. If you know the location, you can type it into the Local URL slot in the window manager. Replace space characters with %20. Or if you are using the DarqUI Unified window utility, click Get default to automatically insert the location string that you will most likely be using. Click Browse if you need to choose a different location. There is more information at ACT HTML Window.
When you switch to ACT Mode, the viewer will always appear in the same place. You can configure this location easily in game. Choose ACT Mode with coords from the Tools menu. The viewer will open with live coordinates displayed. Move and resize the window to your liking, then on the window manager click Detect. The coordinates will be entered into the window manager. Click Save for each coordinate to save the location between game sessions.
If you are using the external window utility to configure the ACT viewer location, copy the four values into the appropriate textboxes on the Browser setup page.
