Exclamation New to this, help me!

I had no idea you could change your ui like this...all i knew was how to move around windows in game heh...

So, i want to install the Averad UI...I'm going off of no knowlege about computers or how to install UI...I mean i have no knowledge what so ever, so here's what I've done thus far:

-Created folder(name: Bobsui...heh was trying to follow the sticky exactly) inside of the UI folder in the EQ2 main directory...

-Extracted the files into that folder(bobsui)...

-Went to EQ2 main directory, created New "Text Document" and named it eq2.ini

-inside of the folder i typed:

cl_ui_skinname bobsui
cl_ui_subdir UI/

So...That's all i understood so far, can any help me continue where i left off...And please correct me if my previous steps are wrong(most certainly probably are...) If that's completely wrong, i have the compressed zip folder on my desk top, and we can start from there if everything is wrong that i've done..heh

PLEASE! COMMON TONGUE! heh, not good with computer terms...

Thank you very much!

(also, in game i typed /loadui, a window poped up. I've heard this is not currently working though...So does that window do anything?)

Next step: Launch EQ2 and enjoy the new UI!

If that doesn't work, turn off "hide file extensions for known file types" and make sure eq2.ini isn't actually named eq2.ini.txt

Arg think i found the problem:

-The File (Averad_packv1-1.2.zip) came with eq2.ini
-I created a new "Text Document" named eq2.ini in the main directory

So if it's already in the zip file then do i have to make a new text document in the EQ2 directory?...Still don't see how that i was able to make a file named eq2.ini when there already was a file.

I've deleted everything and re-installed the Averad_packx1-1.2.zip, so all i have is that folder on my desktop, can some one explain step by step instructions please?

Thanks

In my readme it tells you exactly what to do.

Extract my zip file directly into your everquest2 directory.
Standard EQ2 install puts it here:
C:\Program Files\Sony\EverQuest II\

-----------------------------------------------
In the zip file there is a file named readme.txt it contains:
Install
-------------------------------------------------------
1)Extract directly into your EQ2 directory.

Example:
c:/program files/Sony/Eq2/<extract here>

After extraction it should look like
c:/program files/Sony/Eq2/UI/Averad_Pack

2)Change server_charactername_eq2_uisettings.ini
To have your servername and character name if your using a 1280x1024

Optional
-------------------------------------------------------
If you would like your hotbar to have the selection arrows copy eq2ui_mainhud_hotkey.xml from the Optional folder to .../ui/Averadpack/<here>

KEY NOTE: Make sure you copy the actual file and not the folder!!!!

Copy Server_Charactername_eq2_uisettings.ini from optional folder and place in your
c:/program files/Sony/Eq2/

For any aditional questions check here:

If that doesnt help post again

At this point take all the extracted files on your desktop and move them into your everquest2 directory (were eq2.ini is located)

Ack, the 2 big black bars are still there. You know the ones when the interface is normal at the top and bottom of the screen. (top has: target, your bars, group window and quest log, bottom has quick key buttons). How do i get rid of those two, it's obstructing my view heh.

thanks~

***********NVM, i found it on the sticky****************

We placed it exactly where it suppose to go, but alas it did not work. The chat windows are still the same as in my previous post (no celtic border) and her player window looks nothing like the one I have...

This is her player window from your zip file above...

Lol I think I made a mistake try this file.
What I changed was I added the default eq2ui.xml to the UI and added the line... <include>eq2ui_tkingceltic.xml</include> so it will load that aditional file as default. I believe this will fix your problem.

Again I added eq2ui.xml to the file so you dont have to do anything just extract it to your everquest2 folder as you did in your above post.
