delete eq2ui_mainhud.xml and your connection stat window will show up.

Not wise to delete the eq2ui_mainhud.xml if your other mish mash of UI relies on some information in there.

This is one of the files that tells EQ2 what windows it should have.

Rename it to something else and see if some of your UI stops showing. If parts of your UI stop working, you will need to change it back.

Quickest option for you is to add the connectionstats window to this file so EQ2 knows to load it.

<include>eq2ui_mainhud_connectionstats.xml</include>

Make sure you add it before the </page> bit.

I should note that when the devs add any other new windows, you will have to manually add them to this file yourself, else they will show as black boxes.

If you can tell us which mods you have, we may be able to get these entries moved in to the new eq2ui_custom.xml file, and then you would be able to delete the mainhud one and not suffer these problems again.

ill try the adding it to the mainhud file once i get home

totally forgot to try that

hmm, and about the new customs file, would it work if i simply pasted out my mainhud file from my custom directory, or a list of the .xml files in it? i honestly cant remember exactly what each mod is by name anymore LOL

some of them have never broken for example, like the smaller hotkeybars, and small icon windows for the buffs and effects windows

You only need a mainhud file if you have any completely custom windows (ie not modded default windows), otherwise it can be deleted.

If you have custom windows there is a certain likelyhood that they will break if you simply copy them over to the eq2ui_custom.xml, so I would not advise that.

If it does not work, you likely installed it incorrectly. Always try a clean install before reporting bugs.

actually, i completely rebuilt the UI, adding in only the totally custom windows in the eq2ui_custom.xml file, everything is working perfectly

i really appreciate the replies

incidentally, i was able to get rid of the eq2ui_mainhud.xml file and the eq2ui.xml files completely from my custom UI folder

and now that i know exactly who did every piece of my current UI, ill be posting the thing to the Compilations area
