Help!

My Eq2Map Updater stopped working, wouldn't even run. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling and then I tried removing it completely and starting from scratch. It downloads and tells me it's extracted, installed, etc but I don't have the icon and when I try to run the updater it tells me it's not there. Someone said to remove the eq2 maps folder from my eq2 folder but it's a separate folder on my computer. So what did I do and how do I fix it?
