Default

Look at eq2.ini. If cl_ui_skinname is Default, change it to EQ2MAP. If it's EQ2MAP, change it to Default, run the game, exit, change back to EQ2MAP and run again. Can't guarantee it'd work, but it helped me with a problem I had.

Default had a similar problem

using a different language pack (german) when playing EQ2.
For this pack, EQ2 creates a differnt folder, but the tool doesn't update this specific folder, so standard map it is...unless you copy the files manualy into the ui folder of your language pack working for me now
