Default Can EQ2Maps be used by EQ2X ?

I am playing EQ2X and just wonder if I can use the Interfaces and Maps for EQ2X, and if yes, would the procedures to install be the same as for EQ2 ?

Thanks.

Yes, the games are basically the same. If it doesn't detect your install for whatever reason (IE if it doesn't have an everquest2.exe) just create a dummy everquest2.exe file by making a blank text file in your EQ2X install and renaming it.

There must always be an everquest2.exe, but it might be in a hidden folder (\Program Data\...)

If it does not work, you likely installed it incorrectly. Always try a clean install before reporting bugs.

That used to be true in the past, but they might have done it differently with EQ2X if they purposely made them incompatible (IE if you can't launch to an EQ2X server from an EQ2Live server or vice versa -- which I'm 99.9% sure they did).

That's the patcher, the regular game executable for EQ2 is always Everquest2.exe, that'll be there for all regular EQ2 installs (you can use it to bypass the patcher, since it's the actual game file).

They might, but I'm 100% sure that EQ2X installs an EverQuest2.exe file (with that exact name). I tend not to make sweeping statements without having confirmed what I'm claiming first.

See, all you had to say was that you knew it was there in EQ2X

Haha, I thought saying it "must" be there was unambiguous enough.
