Never copy default files into your custom ui folder, it
will cause you and the interface author trying to help you problems in future patches. You should just delete the offending xml in your custom folder and then the game will automaticly use the default version.
The reason for all the changes is because they are ramping up for the next expansion and with that expansion brings some new inventory slots. Heck Blizzard breaks even more mods per patch then SOE does. Its just a fact of life when it comes to using custom interfaces.
