What Video Card are you using? Its possible that it was getting too hot, and causing graphic anonmalies of sorts. After your system is off for a good amount of time (hr at least) to cool off. Turn it back on, and try your theory of camping the way you did , and seeing if it continues to do what you just posted.
If it does not, it was most likely because of heat issues.
If it does, then it might be one hell of a wierd bug encounter, lol.
