Its been a while...

Hell, its been 6 years since I last played EQ2 and now that I have a better computer to handle the graphics, I have returned.

But that is not what I'm here about. I've downloaded a couple of UI mods and followed the instructions on installing them (even making the EQ2.ini file), but for some reason they don't work.

Here is my setup for the installed files.

C:\Games\SOE\Installed Games\EverQuest II\UI\EQ2InterfaceUIs

I installed all the files to the final directory, and none of them work, except two. And of the two one doesn't work right 99% of the time. Do I need to make another folder within EQ2InterfaceUIs to hold all the DDS and JPEG files? Or do I just dump all files with the EQ2InterfaceUIs?

Many thanks in advance.

If it helps, the mods that I have installed (and its results) are as follows:

[DrumsUI] Bag Window - Works perfectly.
Celtic Pentacle - Only works when mobs are part of a group and then it only works on a mob I'm not attacking.
T. King Wiccan Knowledge Book - Does not work. The background is black, there is no research button and no book image.

the xml files would go in your
C:\Games\SOE\Installed Games\EverQuest II\UI\EQ2InterfaceUIs

directory and the image files into a directory under that called

images

however the knowledge book will not work due to changes and new tabs in it and it not being updated. the target window is just a new dds file which must be in C:\Games\SOE\Installed Games\EverQuest II\UI\EQ2InterfaceUIs
/images in order for the game to use it.

Custom UI's are cool and all however, as the ol saying goes, If it ain't broke, don't try and fix it. I too was gone after playing EQ2 from the very 1st closed beta up until DoF was well into its 3rd month of release and I didnt use custom UI's then and still don't. To each their own I suppose but if you keep having trouble with them, don't bother trying. The standard UI works just fine for what it is!! :nana::nana::nana::nana:
