GUI Builder
Is there some issue with the builder?
I keep getting a memory leak error. also, is there some sort of tutorial for this thing? I got it to open. What are the files we need to be looking at to edit? I really want to get into the modding, so any help would be appreciated. |
1: there's almost always some form of documentation accompanying an executable (hint: look for a word document called EQ2_UI_Customization.doc)
2: read the above mentioned file... really READ it.... 3: there are stickied posts in most forums I know of.. the reason is normally that the creators and/or moderators wish for people to pay specific attention to these posts. They may contain information pertaining to your problem 4: The search function is an well-rounded feature, which allows you to find most everything you need. If you can't find what you're looking for, allow me to suggest that you browse through the first page of topics in each forum... chances are other information that is nice to know, will also be revealed to you. I am not (really) trying to sound like an elitist jerk... but I'm having a hard day, and a hard time understanding how you can ask these questions with the abundance of information pertaining to exactly those questions you pose. Besides that... in a very real sense, I have now given you "...any help", which, if you were truly unaware of the powerful information gathering tools before you, is in fact the best help you'll ever get. Happy modding :) |

Search turned up this: http://www.eq2interface.com/forums/s...ht=memory+leak and reading the ui_builder doc turns up a manual on using the ui builder... fancy that. |
Thanks for pointing in the right direction.
I simply was asking a question. I didn't need any smart remarks. If I knew where the info was I wouldn't be asking. I'm not the most computer savvy guy on the block. Hence why I come here, to learn from you guys. |
Pruned and removed some post.
Play nice ladies and gentlemen. Please remember that we dont discriminate based on number of post or having bad days. the person having the worse day may have the answer you need, or the first time poster might have had the same issue. That being said, Vampiro you *know* you could have started with the search button. Or at least have read the UI Builder FAQ posted in the Dev Shack by SOE Bobble (an SOE employee I might point out). BUT I agree, that you should never get flamed for asking redundant questions. (But expect someone to tell you that you asked a redundant question) /bow Kudane |
Thanks for pruning that!
I agree I asked a very dumb question before researching the topic enough. I used about about as much tact replying as the second poster did in responding. Apologies...now can we just get along... :D |
