Problem with eq2.ini --> Try This!
After weeks of frustration, I think I found the issue.
Couldnt have been more simple for me.. I reversed the lines.. told the game where the UI folder was FIRST and it worked like a charm! cl_ui_subdir UI/ cl_ui_skinname thrasherui WooHoo !! I'm back in business :D |
this fixed my problems also,,,
THANKS VERY MUCH!!! :) :) :) :D |

I just installed a lot of Insom's pieces (looks great man).
Fired up EQ2.... ...nothing  I see you guys used that info above: cl_ui_subdir UI/ cl_ui_skinname thrasherui Do I need to use that too? If so...where exactly to I past that in...and what file do I open for that? |

I've followed the step by step guide repeatedly, not once had one load and work. I've got my text file named eq2.ini with that inside it as well as one folder in the ui folder named same as what I told it to go to in the .ini. Not sure how you guys get them to work. I never had any trouble with EQ, but EQ2 is a pain. It's not worth posting and asking how, I've already read each post on how, I know not to use /loadskin. I reversed the lines like this post. Still nothing. All I wanted was inventory with stats, just one lil piece /shrug. Guess default works best.

Hmm...
Is the eq2.ini supposed to be an ini? (I think it is o.0)
My folder is eq2.ini.txt....it won't make it an ini, how can I change it if it IS supposed to be an ini? EDIT: Found it: Quote:

You should be able to open it in notepad and choose save as and save the file as eq2.ini otherwise you can...
Open My Computer >> Tools (dropdown) >> Folder Options >> View (tab) >> uncheck "Hide extentions for known file types". Click Apply and Ok. Then you should be able to rename the file to eq2.ini. |
that was my problem too...all fixed. A buddy sent me the right ini...

AT LAST!!!!
Finally, this has proved the solution to my UI problems too. Darn that pesky Windows XP and it's fiddling about with file extensions! :D |
eq2.ini.txt

When saving a file in notepad you can force any file name you want by using " and " around the filename. Just specify "eq2.ini" and no matter what the file format is set to, the file will be saved with that name. |
Someone with some power here REALLY needs to add this to the main post about how to install a UI. I was so sad when i couldn't get it to work... and expect to be so happy now :D

Journal mod
I have tried the one and only journal mod that is available and it does not work correctly. It is presently making my examine and follow and some of the labeling onthe keys invisable. Can anyone help? I need a journal that opens the quests on the right side and preferably in a larger text since I have a hard time reading it.
Can anyone help a xml challanged person? Thanks Jacymoon |
