After EQ2 Clean Install -Drums is Broken

I had to reinstall windows and do a clean install of EQ2- I had saved my old UI folder so I thought my customization would be intact It must be my ini file setup or something - if I do a LOADUI DRUMSUI - it works. But it does not load when I start the game I have to load it manuall.

Here is the text of my eq2.ini

cl_ui_subdir UI/
cl_ui_skinname DrumsUI

I have tried putting the skinname on top./

It turns out that the file EQ2.RECENT has a line in it:
cl_ui_skinname EQ2Maps

It totally ignores the ini file. If I edit the line to have a skinname of DrumsUI it causes the game to hang and crash.

Try backing up your eq2_recent.ini, deleting it, and starting the game up. I'm not sure why you would be crashing at all :(

Thanks for the prompt reply.

If I delete the line and start up the game it correctly adds DRUMUI to the skinname line in the EQ2 Recent file.

What I found interesting is that deleting the file and restarting the game seems to be the only way to correctly update the file. If it has already built this file BEFORE you set up EQ2.Ini - it simply ignores it.

Since this is the first time I am using the Launcher file I suspect this may be a bug with the launcerh - previously I was not using this new launchr file.

thanks again for your prompt reply.

That's because /loadui is permanent these days - and that command the other way to update the file.

When did they make that change? I was not aware they had done that.

Prior to having to do a clean installed which forced me to use the launcher, the old way of starting the game from the EXE file would use the EQ2.Ini firel
