Same interface for multiple characters?
 

Hey guys, UI noob lookin for a little bit of info here.

I'm just sitting at work getting familiar with this UI stuff so I can mess with it when I go home.

I'm just wondering if you have to customize your UI for every single character you have, or if you can just do it once and then apply your UI to all your characters?

I noticed there is an ini file in my EQ2 directory for each of my characters settings. I was thinking it would be pretty easy to copy the UI data from one characters ini to the others and implement them that way but perhaps there is a better way to do it.

You're absolutely right, just take the INI file of your favorite character's layout, then delete the rest, copy the one you like that you didn't delete, and then rename it to match, but with your other character's name replacing the good one. Each of my characters all have the same exact interface.

It does not mess with your hot buttons, so no worries there. :-)

Anything you get from here and install (well mostly) will apply to all characters on the regular EQ2 servers (test server has its own instance but works the same).

The character .ini files only save window positions, chat filters, etc etc and that's all per-character instead of the UI mods which is per-PC or atleast for each eq2 installation and unique directory.
