EQ2MAP updater 1.0.15 is not working, installs great, but when i attemp to start app....error comes up and says...

"EQ2MAP Updater has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."

choices are
"send error report"
"dont send"

please help im in desperate need lol and i have .net 2.0

Does it help if you have a IE window open?

Thanks for the reply. Actually it stopped working all together now. It didn't matter one way or the other fi I had IE open or not. I just downloaded the 1.0.15 version and now I am getting a different error.

I have to redownload all the files to get any kind of updates now.

I have tried everything I know with any firewalls does anyone else have any other ideas?

I assume it always does this? Our datacenter was performing some emergency network repairs tonight so connectivity was up and down.

don't know a whole lot about computers but when i save the word file it won't let me unzip it, just gives me the option to edit. keeps saying it finding unreadable content when i try to open it. Any ideas?

i have been pulling out my hair trying to get the map updater to start no matter what i do uninstalling it reinstalling it over and over again i get this message:

Yes it always does this and has been getting an error for weeks or months now. Just tried it again this very moment. Is the error can't locate database on my pc or is it on the server. I didn't change the install directory but could a file be missing or need to be moved?

It can't connect to the server by some reason, but i can see that it has worked some time before or else the cache file shoulden't have been there.
Something is blocking it but i can't tell you what.
Does the center window have any info at all ? This is a browser window if it can't connect nor can the program

Then yes I can see that. Not sure if this is the latest update or not.
I select redownload all files on a daily basis...(or when I am playing). Is this the reason the database file is there? I have been using eq2map since it first came out. Only started have problems when version .13 came out. .06 worked just fine.

I get the same message (or very similar - either way, it dumps me to the typical Debug/Close dialog box), when I run it through Visual Studio 2005 CLR Debugger, I get:

"An unhandled exception of type 'System.ArgumentException' occurred in System.Drawing.dll
Additional information: Font 'MS Reference Sans Serif' does not support style 'Bold'."

This happens right when starting up EQ2 Updater, doesn't get anything in the window when it checks for updates and pretty much dumps out at that point. In game, still can see everything fine, just no automatic updates.

No system changes on my end, just started happening over the past week or so. Installed/reinstalled/deleted/ad nauseum 1.0.13, 1.0.14, 1.0.15, no effect.

Thoughts?

IM having the same problem too when it comes to this interface it installs ok but then when you go down to try to open it it gives u the error in red the same 4-5 lines that evryone else is getting please help me i am running VISTA HOME PREMIUM

I don't get it, the program use the same fuctions when downloading all files ?!?!?!

If you delete the cache file , do download all still work ?

Sorry for being dense here, been going through a new computer software install at work all week and my synapse functions are limited today. Which cache file are you talking about? The files in the ui for the EQ2 maps or a file in the eq2map directory?

Oh and just for your info...just tried it and it started just fine had a tiimeout error on some of the fens maps but the rest updated. Tried it again and got the same old error. Very strange. It could very well be something on my end but I have no idea what setting or where I need to change it at this point.
