Actually I found the answer to my problem in a former post dealing with using French language. So it works perfectly now.

Can't update

Frist off I'd like to say I LOVE your work Darq! Only UI I'll ever use and I always recommend to friends.

Well being have troubles (first time ever) I go to update the UI and I get an error message saying "003 Exception: Could not retrieve list of updates. Are you trying to update outdated version of this application?"

I have the current version 2.3.3.4. =(

Dunno what is causing this error to happen. Have any tips on how to fix it??? So far I'm not having troubles using the UI in game but don't want to miss a update and then start having issues.

Do the updates in the update tab before proceeding to quick setup. This fixed it for me.

Lerxie, sorry you're having trouble. 003 should indicate a problem on my end, but the server log shows file lists are flowing normally to clients. Go to the Settings tab in the utility and put a checkmark on "Log update activity" and then check for updates on the Updates tab. A file called updatelog.txt will appear in your DarqUI folder. Zip and e-mail that to me at darqwood at hotmail dot com. Don't post it here. That may shed some light, but otherwise it seems isolated.


Also, make sure your firewall is not preventing "ping out" requests -- the udpater has to be able to ping other sites before it will request the file list from the update server.

Error 001 cannot connect to server

Hi
I continuously get this error. Ive tried running as administrator, shutting off my firewall, and adding the program to allowed list but its still not working, any idea?

"Please try again in a few minutes" means your computer cannot contact one or more of the DarqUI download sites, but can contact another well-known site (usually google.com). If you have tried to get updates multiple times and you always get this error even with your firewall turned off, I'm afraid I can't offer any further help. Updates to a variety of IP ranges are succeeding, and I don't see anything in the logs indicating server downtime.

The Maintained Spell Monitor will only work with spells that appear in the Maintained Spells window. I believe the ones you mention only show up in the Spell Effects window. The game does not provide enough information to monitor those (at least not efficiently. The UI could be written to report on icons in the Spell Effects window but the effect on the game's performance would most likely be unacceptable.)

Current EQ2 Bug

With today's hotfix, something about any custom eq2ui_mainhud_welcome.xml file causes eq2 not to load. Removing the file from the custom UI directory allows the game to load fine. I have no idea what the change or problem is, just thought I'd pass it on for others.

DarqUI and DarqUI Live do not modify the Welcome window, so unless you have a mixed custom UI that includes a Welcome window from another author, you will not experience this issue.

Clock and Compass MIA?

Hello!

Excellent job on the update - a lot of really nice new features and reinvented favorites.

I actually have had this problem before the 2.4 update, but it is only now becoming a major problem. No matter what I do, I CANNOT get the clock and/or compass to render. I've tried F10'ing it, I tried the manual keyboard commands, I've tried resetting to default locations, I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, and finally even tried an add-on clock from Seagoat to see if that would make a difference. No luck

Do you have ANY ideas as to what I could try to bring those back. The compass is rather important to directionally challenged people like me, so I definitely need it to make a return. Thank you again for the awesome UI and all your hard work!

Thank you for your post, Sp00ky_Kat. Two possible solutions:

1. To make sure the clock and compass are not still off-screen, right-click on any window and choose Window Settings from the pop-up menu. Then choose Clock from the Locate dropdown menu, then click Center, then click Toggle a couple of times. Check the center of your game window and see if it appears. Do the same thing for the Compass.





2. If you use a color theme other than the default Red or Blue, log all the way out of the game to desktop, choose the Red theme from the DarqUI utility on the Settings tab, then log back in. If the clock/compass are visible now, then re-download your custom color theme and reapply it using the utility. Clock and Compass graphics are both affected by the custom themes. Post back here if you are still not seeing the windows.
