DarqUI Unified



Planes of Prophecy Beta

To use DarqUI on the Beta server, copy the DarqUI Unified Utility into your \BetaServer\UI\ folder and run the installation from there. This copy of the utility will create a separate UI installation that will not interfere with your Live server UI

If you are copying your Live characters to Beta, you can also use the Beta Tools page to copy your customizations over to the Beta server

All DarqUI customizations
Character UI settings files (hotbar and window locations, bag sizes, chat tabs)
Custom keyboard layouts
Custom option files (preferences and video settings)

Gear Buff Macros
Configure special macro buttons in a new window that will automatically equip an activatable "clicky" item, cast the buff, then re-equip the previous item. See image below. Inspired by this conversation on the EQ2Wire forums

A variety of item types beyond gear pieces are good candidates for a buff macro including totems (runspeed, invisibility, etc.), mender bot, teleport items, food and drink, tinkered lifestones and manastones, repair kits, divining rods. If you use a specific mount when tradeskilling, you can set up a macro to switch to it from inventory
Use macro tiles to cast item buffs and spells in three ways:
+ directly from inventory
+ equip and cast
+ equip, cast and re-equip
Monitor Maintained buffs to remind you to recast
Send a custom line of text into your chat log to assist with ACT refresh timers
Dynamically resize macro tiles
Toggle the window from Start menu or Command Bar
Optionally display the macro window on login

Setup is relatively painless using the DarqUI utility, and you will probably want to use it even though the in-game Window Manager has a setup page. There is plenty of help if you click the [?] on the Gear Buff Macros utility page. Also check out the Gear Buff Macros tutorial

Group and Raid Windows
Added a setting to allow casting cures without a detriment icon present. Useful for "pre-curing" on certain encounters. See image below. Thanks to Zorbac for the idea

DarqUI Unified combines the best of DarqUI, DarqUI Live and EQ2Inventory into one, with some useful new features. Standard DarqUI users can now choose to make quick, permanent configuration changes right from the game screen while playing, as an alternative to loading up the external window utility. There is no longer a limit to the number of characters that can be customized, and many of the settings that were previously shared by all of your characters can now be configured for each character separately.

DarqUI Live users can take advantage of an all-new configuration app with features like Quick Setup, backup and restore, character and spell file maintenance, and a new lookup feature that queries Daybreak servers for spell lines and icons to use for your spell buttons. The DarqUI Unified configuration app has been rewritten from the ground up to provide all of the conveniences from the DarqUI Window Utility and the Live Updater. You will find many usability improvements and an uncluttered design that matches the familiar in-game window manager.

Large size windows DarqUI Unified offers larger-size versions of many windows to accommodate higher resolution monitors. Choose the size you prefer from the Updates page of the utility. These include Active Journal (quest helper), Casting Bar, Chat, Dissonance, Examine, Experience Bar, Group, Implied Target, Maintained Spell Monitor, Maintained Spells, Mercenary, NPC Spell Monitor, Pet, Player, Raid, Savagery, Target, Threat and Tracking. DarqUI windows that were already usable with higher resolutions include Detrimental Effects, Gear Buff Macros, Hotbars, Icon Bar and Spell Effects.

EQ2Inventory Track and search equipment, bags, bank, shared bank, house vault, Wardrobe contents, mount and Familiar collections and up to 9 houses, guild hall and player-made dungeons per character from the DarqUI Unified interface.

Chat Log Parser features keyword, category and date/time searches that recognize English, German and French log files. Use the preset category filters or build your own using regular expressions.

EQ2MAP integration Install and update the official EQ2MAP alongside DarqUI with a single click.

Help system Help files are now available for all DarqUI Unified windows and utility functions. Context-sensitive help information can be accessed externally from the window utility or from the window manager in-game. Use the new, more robust "Make default" feature on the Files page of the utility to set DarqUI as your default. This will prevent needing to use /loadui from the game window which crashes the awesomium browser.

Spell Suggestions There is a new French spell suggestion file in addition to German and English.

DarqUI Unified Notifications is a Windows tray icon that checks periodically for DarqUI and EQ2MAP updates. More information for setting up and using DarqUI_Notify can be found here. The app is optional, and is included in the download on this page.

So I figured out the issue here. When equipping to cast or casting from inventory, items that were packed in a LON 'package', the Item ID that defaults on your interface is the Package ID and not the Item ID. I went in and manually changed the Package ID to the Item ID and even though it stated 'incorrect code' it worked as it should have. Hope this helps! Great tool.

I checked a number of other Ascensions and the ones that have a single spell level and the usual seven tiers all use the same ID. Certain others like Cascading Force have five levels and use multiple ID numbers as above.

The best way to set up a spell like Tainted Mutation would be to drag the spell onto a hotkey, save your hotkeys from the window manager, then transfer the spell to the icon bar using "My hotbars" on the utility setup page. This will ensure you have the right ID. Most Ascensions won't fall into this category so the extra setup steps should be minimal.

Ascension lookup by level has been added to the upcoming version of the utility, which will be published closer to the expansion release (in case more changes are needed.)

Thanks for your post Ka$hue. It looks like Tainted Mutation has 35 level/tier variants in the database, and the ID number is determined by the spell level. All tiers (journeyman etc) use the same ID:

Ascension in Icon Bar

I'm not sure what is going on, but one of my ascensions is not working on the Icon bar. Every other one works fine except this one. "Tainted Mutation" of the Thaumaturgist Line.

I used the utility to set it up just like all the others and everything looks to be in order, however every time i try to use it, it says "This spell or ability is no longer available" but... it is. It is always up and ready when i push the button. I know it works because i can then open my knowledge book and cast it directly from there. I've tried clearing it out in the utility and starting again, and i've even went directly through the setup in game several times, but to no avail.

Please help!

Try moving the good earring macro to slot 3 or 4, and move the cloak swap to a slot that you know is working. Easy to move macros in the utility -- right-click the icon and move left/move right.

If you want to zip and send DarqUI_v3\POI\darquiv3_gearbuff.xml to darqwood at hotmail dot com it may help me figure it out. (You can delete character names from the file, I don't need those.)

they arent equipping. ive played around with the casting times, but since it doesnt equip the item first there is nothing to cast.
the cloaks i am using are:
The Cloak of the Silver Guardian
Cloak of Dark Energy

They verify and show up just like the ear does. not sure why it will not equip

macro slot 3 and 4

1) Do you hear the sound of an item being equipped? If the cloak buff has an instant cast, try addng a small casting time, maybe 0.3 seconds. 2) What specific cloak is not equipping? 3) Which macro slot (1 through 9) is this?

buff item/cloak slot doesn't seem to work

great utility, earring works like a charm. but when i put cloaks into the hotbar the same way to equip/use/re-equip it doesnt equip the item in the cloak spot

Mob casting is in the same window as player casting. Drag the bottom edge of the window down to see it. If you click the blue gem in the upper left corner of the casting bar you can check a box for "show casting bar sample" in the window manager. This will let you see and resize the window without having to cast spells.

Gear buff icon bar for real dummies

I need a little more 'dummies' help with this new Gear buff icon plz.
I have the item ID but cannot change the icon (rather don't know how)

it's been said 'use the utility to get ID and change the icon'
I guess this is where I am lost, not sure how exactly to use the utility apparently. I ran set up on my character
Is there something else I am missing.
