Description
Well I thought that it would be a good idea to create a pet window to match my Player/Target/ImpliedTarget windows. Pretty standard window I guess. I don't play a pet class much so if you guys want something that's not there just ask and I'll see what I can do.

First I would like to thank Aseekias for the Pet Window extra buttons. Granted I didn't do things the same way, but it would have been a lot harder if I had had to come up with all of this on my own.

I did add the requested Pet Options button, but there is one problem. Before using it you have to use the old way to bring up the pet options window first. For some reason if you hit the button first it doesn't fill in the information for your pet. But if you bring up the Pet Options button with the right click menu first the after that the button will work correctly. Although, with the exception of renaming your pet you shouldn't need to use the Pet Options button.

Well what's new is I rearranged the buttons, putting the action buttons on the top row and the toggles on the bottom row. I also enabled resizing vertically so you can hide the buttons if you want. The entire point is so you can show only what you use, so no one has to alter the ui piece to get rid of the buttons if they don't like them.

Okay folks I messed up. The last update I uploaded had the an old version of the my pet ui. My bad. I think I have the right one now. If it doesn't have a date of at least 10/11/2008 then it's the wrong one. I have no idea how I got this wrong, but well there it is.

Well lets try this again. For some reason when I downloaded the ui piece from here after I uploaded it, just to be sure, it still showed the old one. Third times the charm?????

This is just an update of the graphics to match my other updated pieces.

This is a VERY minor update. I added the war_drums sound to the closing of the window, so if your pet dies, well the sound should give you a clue. A while back DjThaPimp asked for this feature and I messed with the window a bit and couldn't figure it out. The one thing I didn't understand is you couldn't add your own sound you had to pick from a list of predefined sounds. So I chose the war_drums sound. Apparently, this feature is very important to DjThaPimp cause he opened a forum thread and that discussion is what finally clued me in. If you don't like that sound well there aren't much to choose from. So you can always change the HideSound="war_drums" to what ever you like or delete the entry.

Well, since it has been brought to my attention that you can't target your pet with the pet window, seeing as it worked before, I had to check this out. As it turns out any secondary page keeps the window from changing target. So I had to move a lot of controls around so you can target the pet by clicking on the pet window. I also moved the Follow and Stay pet controls so they are next to each other. Which left one open space on each bar. So I decided to make the buttons a bit bigger and get rid of the extra spaces.

I love this mod, The only problem I have with it in it's Current state is that I cannot target my pet though the pet window. Traditionally you could click his health bar in that window and target him, It doesnt work with this mod.

Side note, im a fan of bigger buttons, I know alota ppl like small buttons so I wouldnt sugest changing it, but just for postarity ill add my 2 cents

Your problem was using UIBuilder. UIBuilder adds and subtracts characters on its own. The can cause certain custom graphic elements not to show up. If you aren't familiar with what UIBuilder changes it can be very maddening to try to figure out. Your best bet is to use a text editor like Notepad ++ (which is free) if you just want to delete a few things. So open the original file in a text editor and then subtract the extra heal entries.

When I hit the Heal button it spams like a dozen lines in chat window from trying to cast all the heals.

Rather than just complain and ask you to fix it, I thought I could fix this by going into the .xml file using UIBuilder and changing the cast string by deleting out all the Conjurur heals (I'm a necro).

After doing so, I clicked Save and closed out UIBuilder and logged into the game.

The pet window disapeared. When I over over it, it get the tooltip so i know its there, but I can not see it. I did not modify ANYTHING else but that single string. Apparently the fix is not as easy as I thought.

Any idea's?

The only image I have added is one for targeting where I have a celtic circle instead of the regular circle. I pick and choose the mods I add, so I will try deleting everything and reinstalling to see if one of the other mods is creating the issue.

As far as I can tell all the other graphics are showing up.

I think I comeletely forgot to copy the "Image" file from the UI to my images folder. It works great now. LOL. Dumb mistake here. Thanks!!!

I'm sorry I really have no idea why your background is white. It doesn't show up that way on my screen.

The background is the same for all windows RStyleDefult="WindowElements.DesktopWindowFrame.data.bkg.rect"

Are you sure your not using some replacement image files?

Just wondering, but are all the rest of the graphics for the window showing up?

Question about background

This is the first Pet Mod I have downloaded, and I am confused since I get a white background when it loads in Game. What can I do to fix this? I wouldn't mind something else behind it, even plain black like shows on your screencap is fine. Just not the blinding white I am getting, lol.

Thanks for helping me with this! I love the mod otherwise!

Well as it turns out the reason that when I checked to see if I could download the correct version from this site and I was still getting the old one was because of my browser (Firefox 3.0.4). In stead of redownloading the file it was taking it from the cache of the last time I downloaded it. I had to delete all cached data to actually get it to download again. Let that be a lesson to you, sometimes it's the browser not updating it's cached files that's causing the problems.

Pet Buttons

Okay, first off the bars in the pet window are not like the hotbars. You can not add commands by dragging spells to them. If you wanted to add specific spells to the pet bar you would have to edit the UI piece directly.

I suppose it would be possible that the UI piece could be written to automatically detect the class of the caster and have specific spells show up on the bar, but I think that would take quite a bit of work.

I have never used a custom UI before so please bear with me as I am learning..

Is it possible to have open spots on the Pet Window to add spells that are specific to buffing the pet or special commands from AA lines to be used for the pet? As it is right now all my pet buffs are on a separate tool bar and it would be nice to have all my pet specific commands in one place where they specifically relate to that pet, thus freeing up toolbar space that I can use for other things.

Also, being a Necro, we have a few support spells (rez, heal, hearts and some temp buffs) and it would be nice to be able to target those to our pet via this interface as well (those that we can use on our pet anyway), like our direct heal (not the pet specific HOT). I am currently looking into some of the other UIs to be able to do similar things for group/raid members to better play as a support class rather than strictly DPS. Any information that you might be able to provide on how to customize this would be helpful. Thanks

Pet window requests

First: About adding a sound to the pet window. I've tried but I can't get it to work. This is my first try at adding a sound to an interface file, so maybe I just missing some small piece of information to get it to work.

Second: As for removing all the buttons on the pet window just delete everything from the Melee button down to the Window Frame, but not the Window Frame it self. There is one problem you have to be aware of, if you use the EQ2 UIBuilder it adds a "/" slash to the Style=progress_bar_health for the HealthBar and the PowerBar. The added slash causes the progress bars not to show. Which is what was wrong with the Player window included with my Interface compilation. Normally I remove these slashes with a text editor before I post an interface piece, but every now and again I forget.
