DarqUI Unified


January 10 Update


Clock
Rebuilt countdown timer
  • Set time intervals up to 100 minutes
  • Mouse wheel quickly adjusts display values
  • Audible and visual alarms
New stopwatch feature
  • Time events up to 100 minutes
  • Optionally auto-start on combat
  • Record up to 30 splits and laps using markers
  • Split table is exportable to chat or Notepad
Hide timer and stopwatch when not in use

Chat
The DarqUI Chat window has a new option to remove redundant input boxes from specific chat windows. Right-click -> Window Settings and choose Frame and Titlebar to remove the input line. Choose Frame Only or None to show the input line (see images in the comments section below)

Important! In order to chat, you must have at least one input box present on screen. If you find that you cannot chat after the update, use the above instructions to show the input box, then right-click the chat window and click Always Chat Here

Set Prices
The large increments feature has been updated to allow adding and subtracting any amount of plat in up to one-million plat increments. The feature uses the same coin selection interface as the DarqUI Bank Sidebar




Added Atomizing Merchant Crate to special containers in the Commission Calculator

Window Settings
Added several custom and new windows to the Locate feature
Experience and Character Windows
Stat areas were widened to prevent clipping large stat values when using large font styles
Enemy List
This window now has a plain background and obeys the click-through setting similar to other persistent windows

DarqUI Help
DarqUI Help has been moved to the EQII Help window instead of the Browser window (see image). As a result, accessing help files in-game should no longer crash your session. Accessing Help from the utility did not change
Spell Suggestions
Spell lists have been updated with Level 101 through 110 spells in English, French and German

DarqUI and DarqUI Unified Utility v3.1.1.4 have the following new and updated features:

Socials Window
Use the new DarqUI Socials window to convert your macro pages to a more efficient hotbar-like window (see image). Use custom macros directly from the window instead of using up hotbar slots

Show or hide text area
Start with a specific macro page
Change tile and icon size
Flip through pages using frame or tile controls
Edit macros on the fly directly from icons
Use your existing macros, no reconfiguration necessary
Disable drag/drop behavior
Keep window on screen persistently

DarqUI Unified combines the best of DarqUI, DarqUI Live and EQ2Inventory into one, with some useful new features. Standard DarqUI users can now choose to make quick, permanent configuration changes right from the game screen while playing, as an alternative to loading up the external window utility. There is no longer a limit to the number of characters that can be customized, and many of the settings that were previously shared by all of your characters can now be configured for each character separately.

DarqUI Live users can take advantage of an all-new configuration app with features like Quick Setup, backup and restore, character and spell file maintenance, and a new lookup feature that queries Daybreak servers for spell lines and icons to use for your spell buttons. The DarqUI Unified configuration app has been rewritten from the ground up to provide all of the conveniences from the DarqUI Window Utility and the Live Updater. You will find many usability improvements and an uncluttered design that matches the familiar in-game window manager.

Large size windows DarqUI Unified offers larger-size versions of many windows to accommodate higher resolution monitors. Choose the size you prefer from the Updates page of the utility. These include Active Journal (quest helper), Casting Bar, Chat, Dissonance, Examine, Experience Bar, Group, Implied Target, Maintained Spell Monitor, Maintained Spells, Mercenary, NPC Spell Monitor, Pet, Player, Raid, Savagery, Target, Threat and Tracking. DarqUI windows that were already usable with higher resolutions include Detrimental Effects, Gear Buff Macros, Hotbars, Icon Bar and Spell Effects.

EQ2Inventory Track and search equipment, bags, bank, shared bank, house vault, Wardrobe contents, mount and Familiar collections and up to 9 houses, guild hall and player-made dungeons per character from the DarqUI Unified interface.

Chat Log Parser features keyword, category and date/time searches that recognize English, German and French log files. Use the preset category filters or build your own using regular expressions.

EQ2MAP integration Install and update the official EQ2MAP alongside DarqUI with a single click.

Help system Help files are now available for all DarqUI Unified windows and utility functions. Context-sensitive help information can be accessed externally from the window utility or from the window manager in-game. Use the new, more robust "Make default" feature on the Files page of the utility to set DarqUI as your default. This will prevent needing to use /loadui from the game window which crashes the awesomium browser.

Spell Suggestions There is a new French spell suggestion file in addition to German and English.

DarqUI Unified Notifications is a Windows tray icon that checks periodically for DarqUI and EQ2MAP updates. More information for setting up and using DarqUI_Notify can be found here. The app is optional, and is included in the download on this page.

OK. Thanks, Darq. They did finally clear yesterday when I was playing. It is just annoying when I am doing the event heroic where we have to clear detriments in that window.

Those are placeholder icons used for several windows in default and custom UIs. If you watch carefully just before your character logs in you'll see them:



If you have a lag spike before they get cleared, they will hang around until they are replaced with spell icons. Annoying to look at but harmless, and it happens with the default UI as well.

Getting strange icons in detrimental spell effects window

A few days ago I started getting some weird icons that I can't get rid of in the detrimental spell effects window. I tried reloading UI and UI settings. Nothing is working.

A "night vision" button is on one of the Experience Window nav pages. It looks like a wolf with green laser eyes You can also put a night vision icon on the Command Bar or the Start Menu.

It's a great idea, we asked for this and threat data during KA beta testing. We didn't get it, in fact we almost didn't get the current-target icon. Distance data for the 10 mob slots is not obtainable in ways that are available to us, so the best I could do is put the current target's distance on the window. But that info is available in multiple other places on screen.

The Player window uses /cureplayer commands, which will self-cure using a spell or potion, depending on what you have available. Make sure you don't have any cure potions in the bank, shared bank, etc. or it won't work.

Hi,

I have just returned to EQ2, and this UI seems to be the best thats available, however in the old days I used ProfitUI, and there was a way to change the lighting to make it easier to see in darker areas.

Can someone advise if this is possible with this one, and if so, how and where I find the button

Nice UI. Thank you for putting so much effort into it. My biggest beef with it is that I can't click to cure using potions on my player window. If it's something I need to configure, I can't figure that out either.

I went in and removed the (Ascension) manually as a test, and that was enough to get it working, once I had cleared them out of the hidden list. Small price to pay, honestly. Even changed approach and put all of my maintained there instead of just a few and unhid them, now can see at a glance when debuffed in zones like innovation duo. Working better than originally intended. Awesome!

Followed advice - and I think the spell monitor will work just fine having the amounts spell out for me. I think that was the major holdback and reason for splitting uis to begin with! Thanks!

Also got the confirmation box fixed just as described. Removed the line to add in the drums pieces from the custom file and removed the drums files as well (for confirmation of what I did in case someone else comes across this and needs it). Loaded fine, and have boxes back.

Think the only thing I am missing that would be great to have would be the removing the text entry line option from certain windows.

There are a couple of cautions with icon bar tinting. First, the icon that you want to tint must be visible in the Maintained window. It can't be hidden with spell filtering options (Options tab of the Character window). Second, the tooltip/icon name in the setup must exactly match the name on the Maintained spell tooltip.

Thank you for your feedback, Mazar.

1) If you choose Stacking Tiles and Display Amount values as in the image below, you will get a layout similar to DrumsUI's window.

2) The OK confirmation window in DarqUI is actually the default Add POI window from the mapping system, camouflaged. DrumsUI supplies its own custom version, and the two UI's are mangling the window when you try to use both. Try using the DarqUI maintained spell monitor as shown, and if it's an acceptable alternative to the DrumsUI spell timer, you can remove the DrumsUI eq2ui_popup_add_poi.xml from your DarqUI_v3 folder. When you log in again the OK confirmation window should look right.

3) The chat input line is always present with the DarqUI chat window, although I'll take a look and see if I can make this an option.

Couple small things either bugged or request, though - maybe it already is out there?

Edit: It should be noted that I tried following the instructions in the "what if the character list doesn't look right" link at the bottom of the set up page, to no avail. I happened to notice that several characters that had gotten name changes aren't showing up on the page (husband and I renamed a few after the name purge recently). I logged into the character select screen and reran the utility, but the names still aren't showing up.

Try deleting the folder called \logincache and then restart the game. When you go to the character select screen the logincache folder should be back and populated with new character files. What happens when you open the utility after doing this?
