Any suggestions or ideas how to get them working when I acutally need them would be useful.
I've (temporarily I hope) had to resort to hiding buffs and expanding and watching my maintined spells list from the standard UI.
This is far inferior to the spell timer window.... when the window is working.

Edit: The spells ARE appearing in my maintained spell window.

Sorry you're having trouble with this, Mermut. Nothing has changed from this end that would affect the spell monitor. Although you should be able to fill all nine spell slots, try dropping one or two of the less important ones from the monitor and see if it improves. Please post back here and let me know how it goes.

I've got it watching 5 on my defiler and 7 on my warden.

I did find something interesting... if it is excess of the 30 that can be seen in the maintained window, it won't show up in spell watchers.
As soon as I remove some buffs so there is 'space', the spells show up more reliably. (Discovered while typing this and messing with my UI)
This would also explain why my healers have much more issue with spell timers working then those who play dps and tanks...

I haven't tried it in raid or group yet, but here's a potential solution:
1 bring up your persona window.
Scroll all the way down on the window and check 'Enable Spell Filtering Options'.
Now right-click on abilities in your Spell Effects window (NOT your maintained spells) and choose to hide spells you don't need to watch ever.
Make sure you have enough free 'slots' in the 30 for all spells you want to watch.

The maintained spell issue has been raised and resolved several times lately, so the help file was updated to more clearly explain the limitation and how to mitigate it.

Quests in quest journal

Please add ZAM button to the quest journal browser search. Zam is way better than wiki and eq2u. It actually lists the waypoints for needed locations and gives the option to just click copy instead of typing out these waypoints. Just hit copy and CTRL V to paste in chat window

The quest journal has been updated to add ZAM back to the URL buttons for quests and collections. There is nothing on the interface to change your preference in game, but if you will download the newest version and open it in Notepad. Near the top, change the ZAM line to read:

Code:

<Data Name="1" Tag="Wikia" Value="true" />
<Data Name="2" Tag="EQ2U" Value="true" />
<Data Name="3" Tag="ZAM" Value="true" />

I'll also add the ZAM option back to the quest helper soon.

Edit: quest helper was updated. Change the line as above to add or remove URL buttons

Target Distance Monitor

For the life of me I can't find away to turn off the little numbers on my Target Window, I use it on my healer but not on my tank. Am I missing something? I have the Frame set to None, and I have the green button turned off to suspend distance monitoring. All I want are the numbers to just go away.

The distance indicator is a system preference that you set for all characters at once:
Options (Alt+O) >> User Interface >> Name and Chat Bubble >> Show distance to target

A macro button is easier than using Options if you want to turn it on or off frequently for certain characters:
cl_show_distance_meter [true|false]

DarqUI wishes

I LOVE DarqUI... thank you so much, Darq, for keeping it updated and listening to your users!

Here are some things I find myself wishing for:
  1. An option on the Enemy list settings to show the window only in combat
  2. Room for more icons on the Command Bar! I use this all the time.
  3. Checkboxes on the Experience bar to show/hide the right side (I never use it) and the different pages on the Nav Bar. I only use the Command Bar and the one showing FPS, etc.
  4. Ability to copy the Icon Bar from one character to another - I standardize mine across toons with minor exceptions (add in the correct deity pet, for example).
By the way, I have partially updated Mistals_TravelHub (which hasn't been updated since ~2011). It saves so much room on my hotbars! Any way to include this or a similar travel window as part of DarqUI?

Thank you for your comments, Rosyposy. 1) Check the updater for a new Enemy list. You should be able to set it for combat-only from the Window Manager. 4) Importing Icon Bar settings between characters will be in the next version of the utility. 3) You can already take some of the Nav Bar pages out of the rotation: on the XP bar help page, look at Configuring the XP window >> Nav Page associations. Please check your private messages in the next few days. If I come up with anything that improves upon Mistal's window I'll offer it to you to test.

You rock, Darq! Many thanks!

Would you like my updated version of Mistal's window? It's imperfect, as I am not a programmer, but I know enough to copy existing to add new buttons. LOL

Detrimental effects window bug

Hi,
no clue if it is UI related or just a General bug. Since last Friday i have 7 of those "blank" greyish Symbol squares in my detrimental of one char. It sometimes disappears after zoning but Comes back. I updated UI after that disappeared but no Change.
Tried updating UI, Clearing Cache and logincache but no Change. Only one Char is affected.
It is pretty annoying, so if anyone has any ideas how to get rid again, very welcome.

I have been working off and on with two other players regarding this issue but have not resolved it yet. Are there specific zones or specific encounters that cause the icons to appear or disappear?

Some things you can try:

1. If you have customized your detrimental icon size, change it back to 25 pixels (the default size) and check your results.

2. Check for updates with the utility, then right-click Detrimental Effects and click Delete. Then check the "Skip" checkbox to make sure you don't download the custom window again. You will now be using the default Detrimental window. Does this correct the issue?
