Sorry you're having trouble, mythos74. On the Settings tab of the utility check the box for "Log update activity," then minimize the utility and allow it to give you the .NET error again. Then uncheck the logging checkbox and you will find a text file in your DarqUI folder called updatelog.txt. If I could trouble you to send that file to darqwood at hotmail dot com, I may be able to pinpoint the problem. To prevent the .NET error in the meantime, uncheck the "Minimize to system tray icon" in the auto-check section.

The game randomly closing could be any number of things which can be hard to diagnose, but try shutting down the utility instead of minimizing it while you run the game and see if that clears it up. If that doesn't work I have another idea which I will e-mail you when you send the log file.

My issue is that everytime i update the utility deletes from my custom "images" folder my custom
window_elements_generic

icons\icon_transp1

is there any way to stop this?

Ellyana, each time you open the utility it checks your selected theme and grooms the graphics files if needed. Since the red theme is the default, the utility deletes any associated DDS files it finds so the game will use the red defaults. I may need to put a "do not mess with theme files" checkbox in the utility for folks that want to do what you are doing.

To fix your issue, I would create a folder called Theme_Ellyana and put your listed files in there, and then choose it from the dropdown in the utility. This will copy your custom graphics into the correct places and you can swap themes around later if you want. (Create a Theme_Ellyana\icons subfolder and drop your icon_transp1.dds file into that.)

Exclamation Baffled about sound alert detriments

Ok here is whats going on, I use the program "DarqUI Window Utility" and go to Group window options, click the Orange/ Tan "Curse" audible detriment and pick a sound and do the same for Raid window options. In group or raid these work.
How the heck do i set an audible sound when JUST I get cursed lets say on Fitz encounter?

I Went to the "Threat Window" and on the bottom it says "Detriment Alert Defaults". I checked the Orange / Tan "Curse" box on that with a differnt audible sound than the raid or group i used "coin_cha_ching". But when im doing Fabled ped of sky, or Fitz when i get cursed i hear absolutly nothing. I only hear the "Click" if someone in the raid gets the curse.

In the threat window in the daqui util under detriment alert defaults, if you hover over it it says at the bottom "Check the impairment types you want alerts for by default, and choose a sound effect" I did that. Then it says "You can quickly change the impairment types that receive alerts in game from the options panel"

How do i get to this options panel? can anyone help me out please. One of the reasons i got DarqUI was for the audible curse on myself for those 2 fights. thanks.

Xormeister, if you move your mouse into the upper portion of the threat window where the detriment cures are, you will see two gold buttons appear. Click the gold button on the right-hand side to get the detriment options page to show up.

Some of the sound effects like coin_cha_ching are fairly quiet and may be missed if you have louder sounds overlapping on the group or raid detriments. Sound_gong works pretty well for the personal threat detriment sound, and "ding" is extremely loud and cannot be missed.

Hello, So my problem is trying to get the name of the person i am using the Raid hotbutton on to go into a certain channel. In the raid tab i have this in the command window, 10 rezzing %T.

So when i use that button it will go to the right channel but it reads rezzing parent.parent.target instead of the persons name i used it on. any help would be great thanks.

fencejumper, your raid macro command should read 10 rezzing TNAME. The %T mnemonic was revamped in the DarqUI Live version of the raid window, but I see the help text was never updated when I ported the code. There is a new version of the utility coming for the ToV expansion, and I'll either change the help text on the command or do something in the utility to make it more clear. Thank you for pointing it out.

Incidentally, the Raid window version you are using will also take the TGROUP and TSLOT macro mnemonics. TSLOT replaces %TS, and TGROUP gives the raid group number as in:

Rezzing TNAME in group TGROUP
Rezzing Fencejumper in group 3

Kielty, it depends on which error message you are getting. If it says "could not be created in the specified location" then it probably means your UI path is not correct. Go to the Settings tab, click "Browse" and find your EverQuest II game folder, then the UI subfolder, then click on the DarqUI folder. If there is no DarqUI inside the \UI folder, click "Create folder" and create it manually. Highlight DarqUI and click OK. The last part of the UI path in the utility should be UI\DarqUI, not simply \UI.

Love the UI, Darq, and appreciate it greatly.

Two things:

(1) Question - Are the bottom chat tabs only available in DarqUI Live? I can't seem to find the option anywhere in DarqUI.

(2) Suggestion - Would it be possible create an option to remove the deadspace and artwork from the hotbar spinners, thus having the spinner appear inside the bar? (example: http://www.eq2interface.com/downloads/full5050.jpg) It just really throws off my spacing when I have the spinners on for certain characters they are useful for (such as my Templar) seeing as I run my hotbars in 2x6.

Thanks for your comments Qwynn, glad you are enjoying the UI. The standard version of DarqUI does not offer the bottom chat tabs, only because I haven't reworked the updater code for alternate choices like the Live updater. That said, it is 100% safe to drop a copy of the modified mainchat file into your DarqUI folder. The window utility will step over the file when you get future updates.

I'll take another look at the hotbars to see if there is a way to offer an opt-in for the disappearing spinners. Players transitioning to a custom UI have made it clear they don't like hotbar layout surprises, so I have tried to stay away from structural changes that displace the default pixel sizes. Seems like this is another case that would benefit from reworking the updater to give a choice between alternate versions.

DarqUI Won't Run

I love this UI, however, the latest version will not execute. I am running Windows 8.1. I have 16 GB of RAM, 4.0 ghz AMD machine and an Nvidia graphics card. The older 2.3.3.2 runs fine. I execute the new on under administrator and all I get is the spinning circle but it never runs. Please advise.

Thanks!
