Cearra, I haven't had any issues with the zone timer confirmation popup, nor have any testers reported it although I'll see if I can duplicate the problem. As an experiment, can I get you to restart the game and try resetting a zone timer as the very first thing you do after logging in, without opening any other windows besides Alt+Z.

The 003 exception sounds like a computer that does not have .NET version 3.5 loaded, but the Live updater uses the same update routines as the DarqUI window utility. Have you ever gotten a successful file list with the Live updater?

Yes you can quickly duplicate the Spell Monitor presets. Use Notepad to copy and paste from the darqui_targettag.xml file in your POI subfolder. Copy and paste the customized block of data, then change the name to one of your other characters -- there is nothing special about the .xml files that would prevent this from working.

First I want to say that the EQ2 UI DarUI_Live is awesome!

I have a few issues with some of the UI windows showing as they should based on your screenshots and I am unable to remove the Prestige Stack window. I believe this is all due to the fact that the update utility doesn't work for me. I keep getting a message that it is unable to connect to the server. The windows I am having issues with are all the ones that need to be updated. The utility shows me the file versions but does not actually download them and when I try to update I get the following error.

"001 Could Not Connect To The Update Server. Please Try Again In A Few Minutes"

I have been trying for several hours to download them. Can you assist me with this matter? My specs in case needed: Windows 8 Pro w Media Player, i7-3770 3.4 processor, 16 GB DDR3 1600 RAM, Nvidia Geforce GTX 660 Ti 2 GB video card.

Hi again

I'm really loving this, thanks for the work. It's a little labor-intensive to set up a lot of characters separately, but I think that it's definitely worthwhile, being that I'll be able to tweak on-the-fly. And I can camp to all my toons from the menu and they can have all their own settings, yay!

Two things, though:

First, I can't seem to reset a zone timer. Alt+z, highlight and click reset, but I don't get the normal popup to confirm. It just kinda does nothing.

Second, when I try to run the updater, I get an error "003 Exception: could not retrieve a list of updates. Are you trying to update an outdated version of this application?" In the options, I'm pointing at the correct folder.

The only thing out of the ordinary that I'm doing is using a different target, implied target, and bag. These may be user error, but any suggestions?

Edited to add: Also, is there any way to get the preset spells in the target tag window to stay the same for every toon, without having to go in and set them individually?

In almost every case the new DarqUI Live windows will perform similarly to the original. The main body of the code is generally the same between versions, the difference being the initial loading of customizations. With the original version, the utility injects custom settings directly into the UI pieces while the Live version loads and saves settings using "include" files from the EQII mapping system. Once your character is loaded using either version, performance is going to be very similar from that point on.

I hope you'll kick the tires on the new Live version. I remember you were one of the players with more than 8 characters, and this interface was built to accommodate players with many alts.

This looks awesome, Darq! I would probably switch over to this if there were an export feature. And I just might test it out, anyway. Out of curiosity, is there a performance hit in-game with this version, or is it just as nice as the original in that regard?

BTW, nice updates recently!

No, the two interfaces have very different ways of saving customizations. Although an "export to live" feature in the utility is not a bad idea at all. /ponder

I'm in the process of manually 'copying' character settings from Darqui 2.3 to live.. is there any way to copy the key settings over by moving or renaming files or something of the like?

No they are all different named toons, on same server.
Have deleted all files, and did reinstall 2 times, still same issue, but i can se i am not the only one, people having same issue with Darqui 2.3.3 wich i was thinking of going back to now you added the features there.
Got everything to Work like a charm, and love this UI, i will just live with wrong icons for now, spells Work just look wrong. Ui keeps the icons from the first toon i enter game with. I just relog from desktop if i really need em for raid for now.

Mermut, click the blue gem in the upper left corner of the group window, then click the Settings tab. Choose "Custom" layout mode and the editor will be on the right hand side of the window manager.

Feeling real stupid here.. but how do I bring the layout editor up in game to set things up?

Zhadez, if the Window Manager settings are showing the correct icons whenever you switch between characters, then there is something unexpected going on with the display of the icons, not the function of the group window. The Window Manager gets its settings directly from the UI pieces themselves and not from the saved data, so it works as a diagnostic for your customizations. In this case, the group window is giving the correct custom information to the Window Manager but is not displaying it when you switch characters. By chance are you loading two characters with the same name, but on different servers?

Besides the issues i have with the icons, this ui is by far the best out there. Tried Darq when it went live, newer looked back.


Only thing i ever really missed when forming Raids, is a Quik invite NeXT to guildmembers name, in guildwindow.

The toon i start the game with, is the spell i am having in Group window that session,
boot game with guard, Group spells stays guard on all toons that session,
Start game on ranger, Group spells are ranger for all that session.

It remembers all of the toons, but only on fresh reboot of game. loggin to carr select aint enough.
When i go to Darqui settings in Group window, it shows all the right things, it just dosent update the Group icons.

Any thought on how i could solve it ?

Dosent work for me,,
i made it all over on the necro, camped to desktop, logged on guard, worked fine, did in game swap to necro, he has spells, but guards icons.
Yes i did complete save on necro all 5 save keys, for each spell, and hit ok for them all.. camped all the way out, but guard icons seems glued.
