The maintained spell issue has been raised and resolved several times lately, so the help file was updated to more clearly explain the limitation and how to mitigate it.

I've got it watching 5 on my defiler and 7 on my warden.

I did find something interesting... if it is excess of the 30 that can be seen in the maintained window, it won't show up in spell watchers.
As soon as I remove some buffs so there is 'space', the spells show up more reliably. (Discovered while typing this and messing with my UI)
This would also explain why my healers have much more issue with spell timers working then those who play dps and tanks...

I haven't tried it in raid or group yet, but here's a potential solution:
1 bring up your persona window.
Scroll all the way down on the window and check 'Enable Spell Filtering Options'.
Now right-click on abilities in your Spell Effects window (NOT your maintained spells) and choose to hide spells you don't need to watch ever.
Make sure you have enough free 'slots' in the 30 for all spells you want to watch.

Sorry you're having trouble with this, Mermut. Nothing has changed from this end that would affect the spell monitor. Although you should be able to fill all nine spell slots, try dropping one or two of the less important ones from the monitor and see if it improves. Please post back here and let me know how it goes.

I've been having issues with spells not showing up in the spell timer recently.
Outside of instances, they'll USUALLY work, but not always even there.
As soon as any combat starts, solo, group, raid, nothing shows up in the spell timers.
Any suggestions or ideas how to get them working when I acutally need them would be useful.
I've (temporarily I hope) had to resort to hiding buffs and expanding and watching my maintined spells list from the standard UI.
This is far inferior to the spell timer window.... when the window is working.

Edit: The spells ARE appearing in my maintained spell window.

I'm 99% sure it's your antivirus software preventing the file transfer. Try suspending it just long enough to get the updates.

It's been a few weeks since my last update of Darqui. Tried to (update) today, 13 files. none of them would update. after each attempt i'd get 'could not update' message. tried both basic and alternative mode.
I have the new version 3.1.1.4
Am I doing something wrong or need to update something else first?

The setting in this thread can be used to enlarge any UI including the default. About half of the windows that DarqUI modifies either have scaled-up versions or can be resized larger from within the game.

I would blame server lag, but 5 to 10 seconds is a seriously long delay even in a PQ. Next time you cast the ward, check the standard Maintained window for the icon. If the spell doesn't appear there, it won't appear in the monitor. Since there are only 30 visible slots it's possible the ward is starting out in a higher slot, then as other maintained spells drop off it finally appears. This thread has some tricks to free up maintained slots if you have not already done that.

noticed the past few days that a delay has developed in the spell monitor after casting a monitored spell. for example when i cast a ward its generally 5-10 seconds before it appears on the spell monitor, is this an issue in the UI itself or could this be something on my end? have no lag in game when this is happening and have not had any problems with a delay in the past

Good to hear, morriscox. Thank you for reporting back your results.

Also just a note, you can configure the utility to check for updates, check for EQ2MAP updates, launch EQII and shut itself down, similar to the way you were using the official EQ2MAP launcher.

I figured out the problem. When I updated to the newer version of DarqUI, I kept using the standalone version of EQ2Maps to launch EQ2 while I put the new version in a new folder. Checking the Inventory section verified that. Oops. And tabbed mode is awesome.

Everyone's system is a little bit different so I don't have any good answers for why the UI would crash on one computer but not another. You can delete the DarqUI_v3 folder and reinstall which will hopefully correct the issue. Otherwise if the UI continues to crash your game session, go to the Files page of the utility and click "Stop using this UI as the default" which will prevent DarqUI from being loaded automatically when you start the game.

Any idea why switching to Darqui would be completely freezing up my eq2 window? I have to ultimately end the game with the task manager, and when I reload it, I'm back to the default ui.
