I am not sure if this is something that is part of the map system, or something that is part of the game itself. This has been happening for years, even in the old map system, so assuming part of the game itself, but could possiably be able to correct it though the map.

When I set a waypoint and start to head that way and get a quest update, my waypoint disappears and I need to reset it. This can get very annoying when I go through a zone and get many quest updates on my way to my end destination. There have been times I have had to reset my waypoint 15 to 20 times before I finally get there. Even getting discovery XP seems to be counted as quest update and clears my waypoint.

This is starting to get really old, really fast with the newer map system. I love the new map system other then this issue.

There is a very small mod i would like to make to EQ2map or POI Finder (not sure which), and if someone could assist me in editing the mod it would be greatly appreciated.

What i need is basic. I want to be able to select several poi's at the same time, so several are marked with an X on my map at the same time. I realize this might not be possible because that's more game mechanics than the mod itself. Maybe another good way to mod it is when you use poi finder to search for a poi and it flashed for a few seconds, make it to where i can have several poi's flashing on my map until i deselect them.

This would make questing a thousand times easier, so if anyone can help please let me know!

Hi there fella,
Just downloaded the ver 1.2 have it ready to unpack but winzip/winrar/7zip are all unable to extract the program error message is always damaged archive/unknown format/etc.
Is anyone else getting these errors?
HAve been using the Updater since version 1, but I am really stumped on this one as it's teh first time I have ever had this issue with a zipped file

ok apparently the version is not 1.2.0 that is here to download, as i have downloaded it twice now to confirm it, it is actually still...version 1.1.1....unless you have changed the version, but NOT the number? possible?

Ok, that almost worked. It runs the map patcher, then tries to launch EQ2, but I get a window popping up that states "There was an error trying to launch Everquest II, Please open Everquest 2 manually."

Any ideas?

Point Autolaunch EQ2 to Station Launcher instead.

Can anyone please tell me how to get the map mod to work with the Station Launcher? I used to use the EQ2 maps mod with EQ2, and the maps updater would autorun the eq2.exe to start logging into the game. I just recently came back to EQ2 and reinstalled the game, and use the Station Launcher. When I installed teh auto-updating version of the EQ2 maps, the 1st time i tried running it, it asked me to "select your everquest2.exe file". Any help would be appreciated.

thanks for info on the old map as the new one looks pants and soming tou would find on using a sinclair spectrum i may now enjoy questing safe in the knowledge ppl abve sometimes make mistakes bless em once again thanks rixter6

To filter the POI's is not possible at the moment.
The old system could not be searched, so the old could not be better.
The loc should be in the tooltip if you hover a POI.
To search the description or part of a word is possible, if not you need to check your settings, open Options/UI/MAP and set your options right.
